Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.

In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

Dear guys,

I have been teaching Italian language at all levels to adults and children for over 10 years, creating my own classes uniquely tailored to each student's goals and dreams. I graduated from UCLA with a specialty in Italian language, culture and literature. I created and taught the first Italian classes in Oxnard elementary schools and created and taught Italian language and culture class in the Ventura College Community Education, the biggest one to date.

As a longtime translator, I have published significant contemporary Italian literature.

I’m thrilled and dedicated to diving into our language classes, with goals and dreams unique to each of you. I’d love to share with you the incredible, simple, awesome tools to enliven your learning journey!

About Jane (Zhenya)
I was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia and have always had an immense love for languages and cultures of the world. I found that diving into a new language and culture is one of the most incredible, joyful, compassionate and meaningful paths to discovering the world. All the while, rediscovering one’s own unique interests and curiosities. It’s always surprising and rewarding in ways we can’t foresee.

As a longtime, professional independent instructor, I never imagined where my languages and creative work would lead me and the wonderful folks I encountered along the way.

It’s been a journey of incredible variety.

I had the amazing opportunity to create and teach the first Russian, French and Italian classes to children in public elementary schools all around Oxnard. I was invited to teach French and Italian classes i
n the Ventura College Community Education, Russian immersion program for the U.S. Government and English to a team of international entrepreneurs and their families.

This work and my students inspired a joyful dedication to creating live video classes. I discovered that it’s a special, interactive and awesome platform into the world and I love seeing it grow.

I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your language journey.

Till then,

I have taken lessons with Ronald since I was 6, I am now 23. In my 17 years of taking lessons I have learned to play piano, sing and am proficient in music theory. In the more recent years I have even had the opportunity to teach music through Ronald. Throughout the years, I have experienced and witnessed the patience and kindness Ronald consistently shows his students. He encourages his students to become better and shares in their enthusiasm due to their accomplishments. Ronald genuinely cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure his students improve. I fully recommend Ronald for students who have parents who want to be involved in the learning process and especially for young children who are just starting out. Ronald works well with families, includes parents every step of the way and is very patient with young students helping them learn in an open and encouraging environment.

Mr.Chaz is really dedicated to his profession. He started to teach my seven year old son over one year ago and he has motivated him to sing his best and he started piano with him last year which has been a phenomenal experience for my son. Chaz really focuses on the detail, theory and groundwork necessary to excel in music. If you are lucky enough to get your child started with him you will never regret the experience. He is simply the best! My son sings all the time now and loves to play piano. I am so happy for my son to have found someone to expand on his talents!

I was born and raised in Sardinia, an island in the south of Italy and I'm very excited to share my language and traditions here! While traveling for my job and research I have been teaching Italian in a relaxed informal setting to all my international friends for the past 10 years.

About Stefano
Ciao! I was born in Sardinia, a beautiful island in the Mediterranean sea. After completing my masters I obtained a PhD in Neuroscience. During the past 10 years I have traveled a lot and lived between New Mexico, Bordeaux (France), and Japan. These experiences allowed me to meet amazing people, understand and appreciate different cultures, and try new flavors, while sharing the regional specialties of my native island. I practiced formal teaching in the University setting and during workshops.

I love the outdoors, and of course preparing and enjoying a delicious meal!

My teaching experience includes six courses over four years as an assistant professor of Italian Studies University of Bologna, where I was able to establish an easy rapport with both undergraduate and graduate students. My students appreciated my enthusiasm and knowledge of my topic, as well as my ability to lead tutorial discussions in an inclusive manner. I pay particular attention to cultural aspects of the Italian language, with a focus on conversation, pronunciation, and curve of intonation. I often use a technique very popular among acting coaches called "jumps" which improves improvisation and communication skills.

About Roberto
My teaching experience, most of it at University level, includes ten courses over four years as an assistant professor at University of Bologna, where I was able to establish an easy rapport with both undergraduate and graduate students. My students appreciated my enthusiasm and knowledge of Italian language, and culture. I have a strong interest in Italian modern art and literature. Recently, I have been enjoying teaching Italian to adults.
I strongly believe that the most effective way of engaging my students is by giving importance to their lived human experience rather than given. Indeed, Italian is not primarily a language which takes place in the mind, although is essentially a way of being. Let's be a little bit Italian, then!

I'm a Certified Interpreter in Italian (along with Romanian, French, Spanish, and Portuguese) by the Defense Language Institute Monterrey, California.
Since middle school I loved foreign languages which proved to be very rewarding starting with high school when traveling around the world with shooting competitions.
Living in Italy and traveling countries on five continents allowed me the affinity of learning more about the culture but also develop preferences for myself.

Learning any foreign language opens doors in life whether on personal or professional level, and I sincerely believe that anybody can learn anything disregarding their age; in fact, I have friends who late in life decided to learn foreign languages or various skills that they always wanted to learn, so, I encourage you to do the same.

About Isabela
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested student who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).

I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.

I be
lieve in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.

I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration.

I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.
