I am a native Italian speaker who has been teaching and tutoring for several years.

I love to teach and to guide my students on a journey that is not only about grammar, language, but also a cultural and idiomatic one.

Join me in this learning adventure of my language and country.

About ENRICO
I am a native Italian speaker with a several years of experience in teaching Italian and English. I am a very easy-going, open-minded, professional person. I like to teach because it gives me the opportunity to meet new students, share my knowledge as well as my culture and experience.

I started tutoring back when I was attending the university in Verona, Italy. I was tutoring English, Math and some other subjects. Later on, I continued teaching English while I was working in other fields. In 2009 I moved to Los Angeles. For a couple of years, I taught ESL in a college, and in the meantime I tutored Italian to private students. Since 2009 I have been tutoring students both on the English and Italian subjects.

I really believe that in teaching, a language a primary focus should be on life skills. Not being an English native-speaker,
I learned how important it is to be able to express basic needs and to perform primary activities. However, it is important to consider other points like grammar, reading, writing. I also think that no matter what a teacher should always take into account the needs of the students and subsequently I plan my classes reflecting on the student's demands.

As to the different approaches and materials that I use, I suppose that it is important to change them frequently in order to keep the classes more interesting. Of course, there are some exceptions. For instance, in the past I taught for a while TOEFL and for that type of classes I used more traditionalist and academic methods and materials.

- T.E.F.L. Certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language

- Italian Native Speaker with a several year experience in teaching Italian

- M.A in Foreign Languages and Literature (English and French)

One of my greatest passion is to cook. I was extremely lucky to be taught and introduced to the art of cooking by my grandmother. She was born at the beginning of the previous century and she lived in different cities so she got accustomed to different traditions and shared them with me. I love to cook for smaller groups, using traditional Italian ingredients to prepare simple, but exquisite dishes that belong to the tradition of my native country. If you want to experience some real Italian food, you are definitely in the right hands. Just sit back, relax sip a glass of Italian wine while I cook for you and I share my art.

From the get go I knew I had found the perfect teacher,
Enrico is a motivating teacher.
He challenges you to learn what you need by reading and discussing interesting materials he sends .it isn't just not doing verbs exercises and tenses but actually participating in actual situations as if you were in Italy .
Enrico quickly helps you get over the nervousness that students experience when reading out loud and discussing the meaning of words in sentences and their uses.

I have lived in various cities of Italy and also have a bachelor minor degree in Italian studies. I have spoken Italian language for over 7 years and I am an opera singer.

About Cecilia
I earned my B.A. in Music with a minor in Italian Studies from Santa Clara University. I am currently getting my master's degree in education from Santa Clara University while working on a high school teaching credential. I have taught students from 5 year old to 70 year old and I studied classical singing with the most renown singers and teachers. I also had special training in music multiple times in Italy. I helped many people with pitch issues, tone quality, musicality, performance, and acting. My students were able to build their confidence; they turned from beginners to performers. I have performed with many great singers around the world and have experience singing in opera productions, choirs, solo recitals, to name a few. The knowledge my students get are the essence from not only all my musical experience, also all my teachers a
nd colleagues' essence.

I set my expectations high for all students. Students are expected to learn all the assigned music and practice throughout the week. Music is fun but it also takes a lot of work. However, students' progress will vary. As long you are eager to learn, passion about music, diligent with the work, you will far exceed even your own expectations.

Most of my students improve tremendously in a short period of time. I not only teach them singing, phrasing, and language, but I stress vocal techniques, emotions behind music, acting in character, and performing as a professional.

I've been teaching Italian for 12 years and my students have gone to learn and love not only the language, but also the rich Italian culture. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to handle basic conversations; later you'll learn to talk about the past and the future, etc. I use different types of materials: books, but also extracts from magazine, songs, videos, commercials, etc. I love mixing language with culture and pop-culture as they all are tightly connected.

About Maria
Ciao!

My name is Maria, I was born and raised in Torino, Italy and I have been teaching Italian for the past 13 years. I moved to California in 1997 and I have been living here in Orange County with my family ever since. I have a degree in Political Science from the University of Torino, Italy and a Master in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine.

I have been teaching Italian both to children (from "mommy & me" classes to middle school students) and to adults; I taught from the beginner level to the advance one; I taught to single students, to small groups and to large classes. Because of my very diverse teaching experience I learned the importance and the necessity of customizing all my lessons, thus, I will teach you what you will want to learn.

Maria is an excellent teacher and her lessons are well organized and thought out. She ensures that everyone in class understands the material, taking the time to review material and provide additional explanations as needed. Her assignments are reasonable and include traditional exercises, as well as writing and reading simple dialogues.

Maria is so much more than an Italian teacher, infusing the class with Italian culture, song, history and her great sense of humor. I have thoroughly enjoyed being in her class, have learned a great deal, and would highly recommend her to all levels of students. She is a real gem!

I have taken lessons with Ronald since I was 6, I am now 23. In my 17 years of taking lessons I have learned to play piano, sing and am proficient in music theory. In the more recent years I have even had the opportunity to teach music through Ronald. Throughout the years, I have experienced and witnessed the patience and kindness Ronald consistently shows his students. He encourages his students to become better and shares in their enthusiasm due to their accomplishments. Ronald genuinely cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure his students improve. I fully recommend Ronald for students who have parents who want to be involved in the learning process and especially for young children who are just starting out. Ronald works well with families, includes parents every step of the way and is very patient with young students helping them learn in an open and encouraging environment.

Mr.Chaz is really dedicated to his profession. He started to teach my seven year old son over one year ago and he has motivated him to sing his best and he started piano with him last year which has been a phenomenal experience for my son. Chaz really focuses on the detail, theory and groundwork necessary to excel in music. If you are lucky enough to get your child started with him you will never regret the experience. I provide customized lessons based on the student's specific need. I believe immersion is the best way to learn a language (that is how I learned English), therefore I try to minimize English interactions during the lessons. I also give practical exercises for the students to do between lessons. Unless specially requested by the students, my lessons are not grammar-heavy but are more focused on useful Italian conversations to help the students become comfortable speaking and understanding.

About Karen
My mission is to help everyone, from beginner to expert, feel comfortable engaging in Italian conversations and believing that learning a second language is not only necessary but possible!

I provide lessons to people of all ages determined to learn or improve Italian. Each lesson is customized based on the specific needs of each student and the goals they are ready to achieve.

I can give you a huge head start in Italian if you just started learning. I've studied the Italian language for over 7 years now, started in high school and because of the close proximity with Spanish I have developed a moderate professional pro-efficiency.

I highly recommend my Italian classes for people who want to improve their speaking skills as I can relate to my learning path and have extensive oral and written exercices to fill your heads with Dante Alighieri's master piece. Ciao Ragazzi!

About Paul
Hi there! My name is Paul and I am a french native whose spent my whole between the US, Spain and France, where I still spend at part of my time. I've attended a french school all of my life in Madrid, Spain. I am considered what they call a "third cultured kid", meaning I don't feel I pertain to a specific culture in the world but rather I feel like citizen of the world. Open mindedness is by far one of my most sacred values and inclusiveness is the main practice I try to express to my students.

France was always a country of inclusion and immigration, and like the United States, it was build and grew because of those foreigners. I'll be delighted to show you what the values of my dearest country are in the most creative way, giving you a head start in the french culture and way of life. Additionally, I will give you extensive materi

I've also participated in many informal teaching endeavors within my close entourage for the children of my parents close friends.

I look forward to meeting you and enticing you in the french flair, la vie en rose and many other french-like sensations embodied in the french motto from the French revolution: Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité. A bientôt camarades!
