About Gloria
Hola!

I am a native Spanish speaker from Peru that offers private Spanish Lessons. I enjoy working one-on-one with students because it allows me to give them my undivided attention and attend to their particular needs. I truly enjoy the freedom to teach at each student's pace, there is no rush or pressure to complete a program by a certain date.

I work with a series of books that will take us from beginner to advanced level. I provide extra materials and exercises that will help you reinforce the concepts learned by practicing.
I also teach Conversational Spanish, those lessons are par
ticularly develop for students of advanced level that need to continue practicing the language in order to maintain their level.
During all my lessons, I like to provide students with tips and creative ideas of how to practice Spanish in-between lessons, students always find my suggestions very helpful and something that they never thought of doing before.

You will find that as a teacher I am very patient, kind and warm. It is important for me to offer a welcoming and safe environment for learning. By making my students feel comfortable and relax I ensure that they will be fully present during my lessons.

Learning a new language is exciting and can also be intimidating. I truly hope you give me the opportunity to work with you and embark in this fun adventure together!

I’m so lucky to have found Dannia! As I had not spoken Spanish in quite a long time, I was very nervous for my lessons with her. She reassured me that I would be having so much fun and there was no need to be nervous.

As an adult who studied Spanish in school, I really want to continue learning how to be conversational. Dannia is patient and super friendly— she is very organized in her lesson plans and objectives and I feel very comfortable with her. She guides me to the best version of what I want to say and always lets me know when there is opportunity to say something differently or better.

I cannot wait to continue our lessons together in my quest to be fluent!

Gloria's enthusiasm for teaching Spanish is contagious! Her natural skills and ability to teach are hard to come by. I have had the pleasure to work with her for over a year now and I am now able to speak Spanish! This is something that I thought it was going to be hard for me but with her patience and knowledge it has been possible. I absolutely recommend her as a Spanish teacher.

About Lauren
I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in International Studies, a minor in Russian language, and a TESL/TESOL/TEFL certification (ESL certification).

I spent several years teaching conversational English and culture to international graduate students at Texas A&M with the volunteer organization iHouse (International House). Later I taught group lessons in grammar, conversation, and speaking with a local language school. I worked as a Program Manager at the Korean-owned SAT Solutions Test Prep Center for a year, helping organize and build programs that would help high-school stud
ents improve their English as well as their performance on standardized college-entrance exams. I also taught for 2 years as the high-school reading teacher there, where many of my students had recently immigrated from Korea and sought to improve their English.

I have owned and run Lauren’s English Lessons since 2012. I teach English in both casual and professional settings. My work in business setting includes teaching directly for and in indirect cooperation with a number of companies and their employees such as Schlumberger, ExxonMobile, Koras, SK, Tadono, GE, Marathon Oil, and many others including several various international consulates. I also offer lessons in more casual setting for every-day English. Some students prefer to learn English while drinking coffee and discussing essential things like how to talk to children’s teachers or classmates’ parents or how to make small talk with the guy at the coffee shop or how to demand in effective English that your landlord fixes your problem immediately.

I have traveled to over 50 foreign countries exploring culture and language. I spent time studying in St. Petersburg, Russia and teaching in Tainan and Hsinchu, Taiwan. My travels help me better understand the culture and background of my students. I love learning about my students’ cultures, just as much as I love sharing my own with them. I have taught students from all over the globe – from countries including: China, Korea, Japan, India, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, Mexico, Bolivia, Spain, France, and many others.

I am a native English speaker, and I am conversationally proficient in Russian and somewhat proficient in Spanish. My travels and study of other languages have given me a more rounded grasp of the English language and a deeper understanding of the challenges of learning a new language and culture.
