Then I traveled to Germany multiple times, and hosted Couschsurfers from Germany and Austria. My nephews are being raised bilingual in English and German, and I have both native and second language German speakers in my nuclear and extended family. Having this broad perspective on how German fits in the landscape of international communication, I can adapt a students' education to fit their needs whether it be in mastering school skills or learning German for travel, work or to build relationships.
