About Ana Isabel
I am from Cartagena (Spain). I completed the Spanish equivalent of a bachelor's degree in French Pedagogy in 2006 at the University of Murcia (Spain). I have several years of experience as a language teacher. I worked for 6 years teaching French in Spanish high schools and language schools. The last year and a half, I was living in Poland where I had the opportunity to work as a Spanish teacher with adults and high school students.

I recently moved to Nashville and I would like to continue teaching. If you are looking for a tutor to learn or improve French or Spanish, I can help you do it. I am willing to have face-to-face teaching (flexible schedule) and/or online teaching.

See you soon!

It’s been a very long time since I have attempted to speak any French, but she made the overall lesson fun and interactive and we worked on correcting and improving my French. I’m excited for our next lesson.

Ana is a great teacher with a lot of experience— and it shows. Everything was organized and the materials were easily viewable in the online classroom. Ana seamlessly manipulated the technology so we could move between face time and looking at the whiteboard or a handout. We jumped right in with basic greetings, sounds, alphabet, etc and i’m already feeling confident. I find Ana can very helpfully break down Spanish words to help me get the prononciation right and i noticed she takes clues from me in figuring out the right pace for the class. I love that she pays attention to details and helps me work through what I don’t understand. I finished just the first class feeling I learned a lot. Couldn’t be happier! And by the way, Ana speaks French, too.

About Richard
My goal is to help students ENJOY the piano by finding ways to make it easier and doable. I have a very useful approach in helping students become self sufficient to sight read very well, to see patterns, understand music theory to either help them play well, or to even create their own music(I compose a lot of great music as well)

I couldn't sight read very well until I was 16, but I had a great sight reading teacher that showed me how to develop it, and now I can say that I'm one of the best sight readers out there that I know. I was a ballet pianist at Brigham Young University for several years where all I did was sightread binders full of ballet/classical music. I play for choirs, church congregations, jazz bands, or musical jam sessions all the time, and I couldn't do that at all if I didn't learn how to sight read well.
I would love to help you learn the piano, and I will do my best to make learning as effective as possible. I especially enjoy teaching those who quit and would like to try again, because I know what that is like.

Concerning my musical background, I've played, arranged, and composed piano for choirs, bands, jazz combos, singers. I've been in bands all my life, and have composed for jazz bands, choirs, and orchestras at BYU and in Eastern Europe. I also play about 10 different instruments. I won two Student Emmys in Hollywood for my compositions to BYU's animations in 2010 & 2014.

I am currently writing music for video games.

WRITING
Words are Alexandra's passion, and she graduated in December, 2016 with her Honors B.A. in English. About Peter
I love sharing knowledge! Math has always been a passion for me, and I competed in several math competitions even in elementary school. Since then I have tutored many students in math from a fourth grade level to college math. I scored a 34 on the ACT and I enjoy helping others achieve their dreams by getting college scholarships. I lived in Italy for more than 2 years and have worked as an Italian teacher and tutor for 5 years. I have been playing guitar and making music for 19 years. You can check out my CD, "Songs from Pablo's Attic," on Spotify and iTunes. My wife and I run ampmtutoring.com. I am currently attending graduate school at the University of Utah and our tutoring endeavors help us work through school in a meaningful way.

Peter is an excellent one-on-one teacher for Italian. Based on his background, I'm not surprised to find him very knowledgable about the language as it is currently spoken. In our sessions, he often explains the nuances of words and phrases based on usage, is careful to guide correct pronunciation and adds in multiple phrases of common speech. He has assembled a workbook that is well-organized and clear; we have progressed through it week by week and it has a nice feel of building a usable knowledge of key verbs, words and phrases. Peter is great at teaching and sharing what he knows, and on top of all of this he is flexible to the student's pace, needs and interests. We paused in our progress through the workbook to focus on specific topics like directions, clothing, colors, food, the urban setting, etc. Weekly he sends me sentences via a Google doc and I work and them and send my translations into Italian back--works great! I am excited to have Peter as my teacher and I think you will be, too. I plan on working with him through the course and beyond. Grazie mille, Peter!
