I'm a classical violinist, a loving single mother, and a independent business owner for life, health and accident insurance through AFLAC from New York. I am a very accomplished musician performing in many venues and events such as the Long Island String Festival, NYC All County Music Festivals, Valley stream District 13 Music Festival, NY All State Concert, NYSMMA Music competitions, and yes even Carnegie Hall with the NY Metropolitan Youth Principle Orchestra 1st Violin. Ive learned that nothing of value in life comes without blood sweat and tears but it is worth it.
The things I love most in life are my son and providing for our family. On week days, you'll usually find me prospecting potential clients to help with their benefits for employees in any type of weather, for my independent business through AFLAC. On the weekends I like
to take my son with my dogs (sometimes) to the park, museums, and church or teach him the various wonders of life.
Tom has been teaching private lessons since 2006 and is currently available to teach lessons online. Foremost, Tom provides expertise, experience, and encouragement when he received his English Literature from Boston University, Arizona State University and the University of Phoenix in Arizona.
Tom's style is candid and are scheduled to best fit to the student's schedule when possible.
Its imperative that the student understands phonics as well as the seven parts of speech, i.e., nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.
Currently, Tom works at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels as an adult education instructor providing English instruction to classes or individual students.
As an ESL teacher, developing curriculum for his students, he tak
es an overall approach to English study that focuses on a specific aspect of language use, e.g., life skills, literacy, or vocational and workplace English competencies. Both approaches involve teaching his students basic English skills, such as listening, reading, writing and speaking.
- Pronunciation techniques - Quizzes, textbooks, videos and computer lessons - Basic communication with real-life interactions
Using language use in different situations, such as shopping, schooling, job hunting or working with English-speaking co workers.
He places awareness on the students' culture and recognition of cultural differences which might affect a student's ability to acclimate to an English-speaking environment.

The Pedagogical Foundations Of EnglishCentral
By David Deubelbeiss
EnglishCentral is a company that takes pride in having experienced teachers on staff and designing a product that will help students learn and acquire English, particularly for international communication.
Too often technology is designed without the control or voice of educators. Technology for technology's sake. We have tried to avoid this error and build an e-learning platform that puts pedagogy and learning first.
Here are the key aspects of English Central's pedagogy:
We live in a visual and digital world. Students consume enormous amounts of video content and video has become the new textbook. EnglishCentral harnesses this built in, intrinsic level of motivation - why not learn English while viewing videos you love? EnglishCentral publishes 30 new video lessons per week and its vast library of video lessons and courses offers every student the chance to study what they want and listen to messages they want to hear.
2. Comprehensible Input
Not only do students need to listen to messages they want to hear - these messages must be level appropriate (Krashen, 2001). Each EnglishCentral video lesson or course plus our vocabulary is leveled and can be assigned to students based on their level of English. This provides appropriate practice maximizing language acquisition.
3. Precise, Timely Feedback
EnglishCentral provides instant feedback to students. Students begin to "notice the gap" (Schmidt, 1990) and begin to self-correct as they compare their speech to the original. Tools are provided so students can "dig down" and understand the language and get the answers they need immediately. EnglishCentral works to promote learner autonomy.
4. Lowered Affective Filter
Many students go through a substantial "silent period" (Krashen, 1985). Others need the time and space given through self-study before they are ready to excel in the very socially demanding classroom. EnglishCentral provides a safe, low anxiety environment where learners can proceed at their own pace and practice speaking in a non-threatening place. Teachers are often amazed how the quiet students in their class "bloom" on EnglishCentral.
5. An Oral Language Focus
The 21st century workplace and global nature of communication demands that students have strong speaking skills. The importance of written communication is receding. EnglishCentral's proprietary speech recognition system IntelliSpeech™ trains students to produce, clear, intelligible speech for effective communication across cultures and borders.
6. Blended Learning
The future of education lies in blended learning (Arne Duncan, 2014). EnglishCentral partners with schools and teachers offering a unique blended learning model and platform. Courses and video lessons can perfectly compliment what students learn in class, providing students with extra practice matching the class curriculum. Our free LMS lets teachers extend the curriculum and track student achievement.
7. Structured Learning
Our simple Watch | Learn | Speak methodology provides low cognitive overload and an easy to follow learning pathway. Courses and video lessons are leveled and vocabulary is presented with spaced-time repetition. EnglishCentral monitors every word or expression students study and provides a simple interface where students can use the feedback to improve their pronunciation and build their vocabulary.
Students are highly engaged by the gaming dynamics of EnglishCentral. Students compete for XPs (Experience Points) and ranking through their study. However, we don't go overboard and aim to keep the focus on the learning, not the gaming.
9. Ambiguity Tolerance
Language is a vast and unpredictable space. Successful language learners are risk takers. Critical to being a risk taker is having a strong ability to not be stressed out by what you don't understand (Brown, 2007). EnglishCentral provides authentic content that challenges students to focus on the general meaning and gist and strengthen their level of ambiguity tolerance.
My name is Mikayla and I cannot wait to meet and teach you my favorite language and life's passion. I have been speaking French for half my life now and I have loved it since day one. I earned my Bachelors in French and Francophone Studies with a minor in European History from San Diego State University in 2014, lived and worked as and English and French teacher in Nîmes (south of France) and I now live in Lyon where I just completed my Masters-FLES (teaching French as a second and foreign language).
I tailor my lessons to fit my students. I look at your level, background, age and goals to find the best course of action for us to take. We work on grammar and vocabulary of course, but also phonetics and French and Francophone culture !
I like to keep my lessons fun and interactive and I p
ull resources from many different places. Currently the books I'm using for instruction are: Latitudes, Adomania, Alter Ego, Tex's French Grammar, Liberté, and SuperMax. I also use many online exercises, songs, videos, and articles to supplement for listening and reading exercises.
Because I live in France, it may appear that my availability isn't all that great -- please note that I am very flexible and I am certain that we can find a time that works for both of us. If this is the case please contact me with times you were hoping to do.
Don't hesitate with any questions ! À bientôt ! (see you soon)
Here is an article I wrote for the TakeLessons blog if you'd like to check it out ! http://takelessons.com/blog/fall-in-france-z04
I have been teaching on and off for many years, usually on a one-to-one basis; I taught teenagers and adults. I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs and I am always ready to go above and beyond the basic lesson. I try to make learning a language fun and alive, through news, stories, and songs.
My method is to provide grammar (very important in French), vocabulary, conversation, reading, and translation in every lesson, and show how important each component is to the whole. I am overjoyed when my students start conversing without need for translation - even if there are errors!
My graduate educational background is in architecture, followed by an MBA in finance. My mother tongue is English; but I learned French at the age of nine when I attended my first French school. I have a French high s
chool diploma (Baccalauréat) and architecture degree, and I am certified to grade French exams from A1 through C1 (university level). Currently I teach after-school, coordinate a museum visit program (en français) and manage a French exam center. I also attended high school in Germany, in a German high school, for several years, so I am fluent and am now also teaching. Learning languages was a necessity in my childhood. I love to learn, even if by adulthood, it is more difficult to become fluent in a new language. I think the fact of being a lifelong learner helps me better understand my students' needs.
As an avid reader since childhood, my spelling has always been excellent, and I worked as a proofreader. I look forward to helping my students reach their language goals.
Once again, Diane has proven an exceptionally effective French instructor. She is conversant in American idioms and offers the French equivalents with ease. I am in awe of her ability to motivate and instruct.

Diane is very professional. I had my first class with her and she carefully accessed my level before she decided what area I should be focused on next. Highly recommended.
My name is Jodie. I have been teaching since 1999 and my experience includes school classrooms, university, and private lessons. I have been teaching private lessons since 2003 and am currently available to teach lessons in person and online. I teach French and ESL. I am also qualified to teach English, writing, and comprehension as well as a few crafts. One of my current students was failing his French I class at high school three months ago when his mom contacted me, but he has now raised that grade to a B.
I received my training at the University of Northern Iowa in1998 where I received a BA and an MA in French. I later studied at the University of Angers, France, where I earned an MA in Teaching French as a Foreign Language. I lived in France for six years. I also taught English to French students. As an expert in my field, I
look forward to helping new students achieve their goals. I personalize lessons and courses to meet the individual student's needs.
Hi, I’m Sama and I help professionals build fluency in English for life, work or travel.
I’m an certified English teacher from Canada and I've been helping non-native English speakers become confident and fluent in English for almost a decade. I'm also a passionate writer. I write articles and social media content to help over 90,000 English learners to overcome challenges, learn and grow.
Before taking my online classes, clients usually come to me with these tough challenges:
-They fear that they don’t sound professional when they speak English. -They’ve tried everything and still can’t speak English fluently. -They feel powerless and they’re starting to lose motivation.
If you’re facing similar challenges, I completely understand your frustration. The language barrier is restricting your career possibilities and your oppo
rtunities for a better life. It’s limiting your relationships and connections on a personal or professional level.
But you’re here reading this, which means you haven’t given up yet! So many people have overcome these obstacles, and I want to show you that YOU can too.
How you’ll benefit from my English classes:
I work with clients one-on-one, so the benefits will be unique to each person and the goals they set for themselves. My clients have experienced a range of benefits including:
-Better English pronunciation and clarity when speaking. -More comfort and ease in having conversations in English. -Feeling more prepared for English interviews and presentations. -More confidence in talking about products and services in English. -Improved interactions and connections with English speaking directors, clients and colleagues.

Sama is not only a great teacher, but she also is a nice person. She keeps me motivated to keep learning and improving. Her teaching system is pretty dynamic and helpful. Every dollar I spent to take lessons with her is worth it. Thanks Sama !!!
Buon giorno! I'm Sabrina. I specialize in language instruction (Italian and French) and have spent the past 15+ years working with students of all ages, as both a classroom teacher and a private tutor. I hold a Doctorate in Modern Languages, and offer highly individualized and engaging lessons to meet your personal goals, interests and above all, learning styles. I provide extensive feedback and encouraging guidance to help students continue to succeed independently.
I love sharing my knowledge of and passion for the Italian language and culture with others. I infuse a variety of cultural topics into each language lesson, depending on your personal interests and/or travel plans. You will certainly find my passion contagious! But I realize learning a language isn't easy for everyone, and it can be quite intimidating to feel confident w
hile speaking. That's why you need a teacher who can figure out what works for you, how you learn, and what motivates you. Everyone can speak beautiful Italian, and engage in conversations for business or pleasure, but it takes a knowledgeable instructor to help get you there efficiently. I can quickly assess and pinpoint your strengths to design activities that help you precisely where and how you need it, and have plenty of effective tricks up my sleeve.
I lived and worked in Italy for about 10 years, in educational tourism, and since moving back to the US I have taught Italian at both the High School and University/College levels for about 4 years each, as well as Community and Continuing Adult Education classes for the past 6 years, and I have training in AP exam prep. Although I have native-fluency, I have myself been a student of foreign languages, and know the struggles that come along with this exciting adventure. I know how to help you get past those hurdles, and have fun along the way.
To learn more about me, my lessons, or to ask me any questions, do not hesitate to send me a message and I will respond within a few hours. I look forward to hearing from you. A presto! (Talk to you soon.)
I'm enthusiastic about teaching and sharing different culture to my students. Growing up in Asian culture makes me capable of telling the difference between western and eastern life styles. With more than 13 years of teaching experience, I have very solid teaching background and discover the easiest way of learning a new language by logic and constant practice. I enjoy creating different situations and encouraging students to think and talk. I'm sure you'll have fun and find it interesting to dig deeper more about the language and culture.
"Jonathan has just started teaching Latin to my 11 year old twin boys. His methods are rigorous, yet gentle. Jonathan's engaging style is exactly what we
were looking for."
"Jared is a great teacher. I feel that I will learn a lot from him."
"I had been wanting to learn sign language and more about the deaf community since seeing an ASL translator at my college in California. Now at a point whe
re I am finishing up my college career, I decided to invest in classes (because why not try something new and interesting!). Online proved the best option and Eduardo was the #1 rated ASL teacher on TakeLessons. I had a few questions and Eduardo immediately reached out to me. He was (and is) both friendly and informative in his communication. His teaching style is more conversational and personalized to the level and learning style of the student. He is patient yet pushes me forward in my learning by integrating sign language into daily parts of my life. For example, I am currently learning how to sign some of my favorite songs! Additionally, Eduardo presents a new challenge regularly for my personal growth in the language. I have been taking weekly lessons for 3 months and am now at the point where he says I can no longer use my voice along with my signs. The process of speaking interferes with the fluidity of signing...I'm really excited to see how my signing improves! If you have the opportunity to invest in learning this beautiful language, I really encourage you to #1) try it and #2) take it with Eduardo. He will teach you so much and make it incredibly fun in the process. I feel like I've learned enough to fill a dictionary after each lesson! Eduardo genuinely cares and is excited to share this piece of his world with you...I couldn't be more thankful and plan to continue lessons with him indefinitely."
"Eager to learn more."
"Maryen is an excellent instructor! She really helped me improve my Spanish faster than I expected, and I enjoyed the lessons."
"We had good lesson today. Thank you Ms. Anna"
"Great first lesson, thanks for your help!"
"The class was well-done. Every lesson was thoroughly prepared as well as adequately explained. It truly gave basics to the language. Thank you!"
"Prajakta is a wonderful patient teacher! Began first Hindi lessons today ....cannot wait for next one! Highly recommend for adults and children. She wa
s flexible with scheduling and contacted me right away. I am from US as beginner Hindi speaker."
Learning a language like Spanish has tons of benefits, for adults and children alike. But how much should you expect to invest, if it's something you're serious about learning? There are few outlets for free Spanish lessons for beginners, but they're not always the best option. Books may provide vocabulary and grammar lessons, but you're missing out on hearing the language spoken. YouTube videos can be fun to watch, but you're missing out on that essential component of conversation with anot …
