I am Japanese. Although a Japanese sentence can be translated to English in a grammatically correct way and English speakers can understand it, often the sentence does not resemble native English. Maggie helps advanced learners understand how certain words carry various emotions and create a certain ambience. She believes that native-like fluency cannot be attained through translation and gave me tools to break the habit and develop a more intuitive approach to language learning.
Maggie has great enthusiasm for teaching each student well. Her lessons were systematic and she clearly explained grammar and style points. She used not only textbooks, but also many materials which made her lessons much more fun! That’s why I liked her lessons so much.
I believe you would have a wonderful experience studying with Maggie.
Working with her would be one of the fastest ways to improve your English language skills."
Maggie is absolutely one of those who made this possible: she was one of my teachers, and she was simply great! She helped me so much in those months, and I really enjoyed following her classes. I think she is a brilliant, naturally gifted educator, enthusiastic and accurate. She is professional, serious, and her methods are simple and effective. She can always find ways to make things easier, even the most difficult ones (grammar for example!), so that meanings/concepts/rules would become clear and fixed in our mind.
She is also a very nice and generous person, always available to help: she cared so much about our education, making sure nobody was left behind, and every time I needed some extra explanations, she was always there to give more information, making examples taken from the everyday life, using tricks, songs, newspaper articles, connecting so theory to practice.
My English and I owe her a lot, and I’m sure your experience with her will be as enjoyable and rewarding as mine!"
And they're not alone!

As well, I am always gigging as a singer, guitarist and pianist all around New York City. I am a composer working as both a singer/songwriter, and a film scorer. I have been teaching privately for 6 years from all age ranges and all experience levels. I have worked in a variety

As my tag line suggests, lessons with me are about finding the musician inside of yourself. We often forget that music at its' core is about expression. I want to give you the tools, techniques and structure to engage fully, freely and passionately with the rewarding art form of music. For singers, this means tapping into our breath, our bodies and our support to create those sounds that excite, captivate and move not only our audiences, but ourselves. For guitarists, we are going to exercise scales, fingerings and chords so that we develop a tool box for our inner rock star to play with! For pianists, whether you consider yourself a classical, jazz or rock pianist, we are going to build a foundation that allows you to play in whichever style you wish, and a technique that will always be there to support you.
I specialize in online lessons so that I can share this lesson program with student's all over the world! If this is your first time with online lessons, rest assure I will walk you through the set-up and technicalities to ensure the utmost productivity from our sessions!

I've worked with middle, high school and college students on developing the reading, writing and research skills needed for success in many academic areas. I've worked with second language learners on speaking, reading, and writing.
Preparing for essay tests is one of my areas of expertise, but my teaching philosophy is less about preparing for a particular test than it is about developing strategies that work for a broad number of tests and in real life situations.
I love working with adults and younger people on developing storytelling techniques, and public spe

I was born and raised in Paris, France where I completed my BA with honors in literature and philosophy at Lycée Louis Bascan. I continued my study of philosophy at the Sorbonne before relocating to the UK where I attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
My interest in education came from the amazing and generous teachers that I was fortunate enough to have had in my youth. These educators had an infectious passion for their work and the subject matters at hand. Due to this, I've had the privilege of helping students, assisting individuals in realizing their own potential. I’ve also managed to follow their progress and watch them integrate into some of the top universities around the world.

I can't wait to start working with you! I know from experience that a good student/teacher relationship is the key for success, so I approach my teaching with positivity, flexibility, and the firm belief that everyone has innate intelligence waiting to be uncovered and harnessed.
I offer my students humor, support and my own expertise in a variety of subjects relating to the field including audition advice, tips on controlling performing nerves, help with diction, text interpretation, and much more! I believe the student/teacher relationship should be based on trust and mutual respect, and that is what I offer.
Tagalog students can expect to improve week to week in their vocabulary and phrasal knowledge. Every learner has a unique learning style; I teach students to release built up fears of learning a new language and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual learning styles. I can help any student to speak with freedom, confidence, and expression.
I teach second language students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied world literature for 4 years, and second language teaching pedagogy for 2 years. I can teach students to read Tagalog and pursue excellence, to learn how to correctly pronounce challenging words, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.
My personal passion is language learning and I firmly believe that practice and repetition is essential to mastering any new language. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better Tagalog speaker!

Sometimes I have been approached by people who, although they do not want to pursue a career in fashion or art, want advice on how customize their image. I can help you to express your individuality and embrace your freedom.
As a designer I have also collaborated producing the costume designs for plays like: "Post-Plástica", Museo del Barrio, NY (2012) and "Schwanze-Beast", Vermont Performance Lab, Vermont (2015).
In 2015 I released the film-documentary, "Normal Is Good (I like America and America likes me)" at Gene Siskel Film Center, Chicago. "All the things she says" is my most recent solo exhibition at Galería de la Biblioteca Pública Rubén Martínez Villena, Havana, Cuba (2017). I was selected as part of 2017 NYFA Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program for Performing and Literary Arts, New York Foundations for the Arts, NY, US.
My knowledge of art and design and my international perspective, are elements that enrich my approach to education.

Many French students struggle with their pronunciation at first. Try these practical tips from opera voice teacher Elaina R. to get the right sounds out... French is beautiful. Almost muttered, flowing from vowel to vowel, French has earned a reputation as the "language damour." Why is it, then, that everyone in your French class sounds so utterly unromantic? Put succinctly, its because English and French have very different phonetic rules. Lots of letters are pronounced completely diffe … Read More
