About Kevin
I have had a fairly diverse musical background, including playing with bands and orchestras, as well as participating in choral groups and opera. I have a master's degree in music performance for wind conducting, and a bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on piano performance.

I have taught private lessons for several years now and I love every moment with my students! I have a real passion for sharing my knowledge and experience with others, both failures and successes. I believe everyone has creative potential, and I believe music is a real universal art form that anyone can tap into if they want. Above all, making and creating music should also be fun!

*** Lesson Details ***
I try to keep my lessons professional but comfortable too. I don't yell at students for messing up or anything like that. I usually have an agenda b
ut am willing to adjust and compromise if the situation dictates. If you don't have a curriculum in mind, I like Alfred's piano courses, but will do my best to find one that fits you as a student best. My initial goals are to make sure the basics of reading music and performing are set so that no matter what musical avenue you want to pursue, you will be successful. I do specialize in classical music but enjoy creating and playing in other genres as well.

I now also offer lessons online, as well as tutoring in most math areas!

***CANCELLATION POLICY***
I kindly ask for 24 hour notice whenever possible if a lesson is going to be missed. Generally speaking, if I don't hear from a student and their lesson time passes I will mark the lesson as missed, but I am also usually more than willing to make up the lesson at a later time.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a piano keyboard at my home.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would expect students to have their own instruments as needed, as well as music paper, pencils, etc. I may be able to provide some of those materials on occasion as well as some books/recordings, but will by and large expect students to purchase those for themselves.

*** Specialties ***
I am much more familiar with classical styles and Broadway. My music writing style tends to be somewhere between neo-classical and avant-garde.

It's official. Best instructor ever. Today was the end of my initial prepaid classes. I have already set up for another month. Jihye teaches at my pace. Is still very patient and reviews sections until I "get it". Sections that I get quickly, she moves on and then ties everything together.
She has a wonderful personality and literally makes learning the Korean language fun. She has me read, write, speak and laugh all while teaching. She always greets my family members if they happen walk by in the background.
I am making progress and look forward to my classes. Another plus is that she uses a textbook. So even though this is a holiday break, I can peek to future lessons and continue to practice.
A+++ to Jihye.

Jihye has helped me improve my piano playing skills and has been very encouraging to improve my piano technique. She has given me suggestions on how to overcome difficulties playing certain parts of a piano piece. Challenges me to excel. I highly recommend.

Hola, cómo estás? I am a certified native teacher. I love teaching, and have all my life. I was born in Madrid, Spain, and I now live in California. My native born language skills, immersed here in America, make me an excellent option for a tutor. In my opinion, it is highly recommended to get a native tutor for learning a foreign language.I am certified to teach through Sonorele Learning Awareness, in Spain.

I know how to teach you Spanish in the best way, with fun and effective classes, with patience, and with speaking slowly and clearly. You will learn proper pronunciation, our expressions, our culture and our customs, by enjoying and practicing with me, through one on one conversation, exercises, repetition, and homework.

In regards to how I teach, I incorporate the essential modalities of speaking, listening, reading, and wri
ting. By practicing with all these forms, you will feel success in a few classes.
I am flexible with my hours, and I am available to travel to meet personally or to do a class online, either individually or in a small group. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve excellence in your studies!

Muchas gracias por tu atención.
Saludos,
Javier

I have been taking Spanish lessons with Javier for 5 lessons now. He currently is helping me set up a strong foundation in pronunciation. Couldn’t be happier with my teacher and will eventually have all three of my children take lessons with Javier as well.

I love learning and teaching languages and although I studied law I really prefer teaching languages (I speak 5 languages) and love travelling and photography.
I will be happy to answer the questions which arise in between your one-on-one lessons. In short, I will do everything I can to increase your rate of language acquisition.

It goes without saying that I love to teach! I have an easy-going personality and a positive attitude. Learning such a beautiful and multifaceted language as Spanish will be fun with me. I love travelling, I have hosted many exchange students, so I have developed good communication and creativity skills.

I will encourage your interest and curiosity into the Hispanic culture by using amusing topics during the session, which will automatically improve your experience.

I am able to communicate with students
at a very personal level . I am very passionate and enthusiastic to get them to learn. I will also promote study habits.

I have a lot of nice material and is interested in what people have to say and their needs. I am friendly and kind; I try to correct students making sure they don't feel embarrassed. I makes people feel comfortable, and encourages them to participate and learn, -even the shy ones. I enjoy the class as much as you.

I have been taking on-line lessons on and off for several months with this great Russian teacher. I did have some basic knowledge of Russian at the time. My teacher, Alexandra, has been great. She allowed me to go at my own pace and review material, if needed. I work in the medical field, and I received material and assignments related to this area, which was helpful..The most productive part of the the lessons were the times spent on conversing back and forth.

Having lessons on-line does take some self discipline, especially if you are working full time. However, it does encourage regular review of Russian so that you are ready for the next lesson. Alexandra is a GREAT teacher!!

Excellent tutor, teacher, friend! She is honest, patient and nonjudgmental. Her experience is obvious because she takes care to only speak with Spanish that you know and is very attuned to non-verbal cues. Her knowledge of Spanish grammar and cultural nuances is great not just because he speaks perfectly but she can articulate her knowledge well.

She is genuine in character and her goal is to help you learn Spanish at your pace. I have learned a great deal in the 9 months that I've been working with her and can't imagine that I would have gotten here as quickly with any other teacher.

Hello future students! I am 24 years of age, and a fluent Spanish speaker. having lived in Peru for two years I adapted the Spanish language almost as if I was a native. Not only did I learn the language but I learned the grammar, the rules and lots of tricks along the way. Now most native Spanish speakers do not know how to teach or explain these thing, because they never had to learn it as a second language. Spanish is a very simple language to learn, if taught properly.

Masculine & Feminine Spanish Nouns | Test Yourself!
In English, every noun has a neutral gender. This makes it easy to learn, so you really only need to learn the new word and the learning stops there. In Spanish, on the other hand, every single noun is either masculine or feminine. This means that every time you learn a new Spanish vocabulary word, you need to learn its accompanying gender as well. This may appear confusing for beginners, but bear with me! Here are the general rules for determining masculine and feminine Spanish nouns:
