I can make a hard or boring subject easy and enjoyable to learn. My priority is student success - I work to make it happen. My ability comes from extensive experience, a history of student success, and personal achievement in the subject.

First of all, I would like to teach my native language in a fun and easy way. My experience with foreign language made me a firm believer that conversation is the most effective way to learn a different language. I am going to use most of the time in random yet targeted discussions about different topics. Grammar rules and vocabulary will also be included in each lesson. Of course I would be more than happy to adjust and modify this structure based on the student needs:)

I have a teaching experience of ESL of more than 24 years in Cuba. I have taught in colleges, for students with different academic interests, and for graduates who wanted to improve their proficiency in this language. I have also trained teachers of ESL at the language school where I worked.

In my teaching I use a communicative approach with meaningful exchanges but with a solid foundation of the formal aspects of the language too, so that students can move forward safely. I pay attention to individual differences so that each student can progress at his/her own pace with ease.

At intermediate and advanced levels I always favor the use of meaningful discussions and debate about updated issues, so that students learn how to express their opinions and ideas properly in different contexts.

I believe in creating a friendly atmosphere with meaningful human exchanges throughout my lessons.

I incorporate mystery into my lessons. It will never feel like we are learning because we have so much fun. I create games and fun ways of learning material and most lessons are interactive and hands on.
