I have taught ESL classes both face-to-face and online for many years in Asia and the USA. Most of my students have been adult learners, but about 30% of my students have been children. I an intent on helping the student feel comfortable with me and with the language and giving them plenty of practice.

Sheralee taught my daughter recorder. My husband decided to join her. Her lessons were reasonably priced, and they both made great progress under her professional and encouraging guidance.

Both of my kids started taking lessons with Mrs. Sheralee. My son was 6 and daughter was 5 when they started. I'm so Thankful to Sheralee for instilling the love for piano. They both looked forward to their piano lessons each week. I just love Sheralee's energy, her spirit, her kindness, her patience and her method. Sheralee is amazing with children and she creates an environment that is friendly and inspiring.
Michelle
Sheralee has taught piano to both of my daughters. One has taken lessons for the past 5 years, the other for 2 years (both started when they were 6 years old). She teaches them from a variety of books each week, covering theory, finger exercises, John Schaum Piano Course, and hymns. As a Christian, Sheralee prays with them before each lesson, and inspires them to use their talent and abilities for the Lord. She does this by encouraging and preparing them to play for others (church, recitals, assisted care facilities, etc.). We have been very pleased with her kind and gentle, yet persistent manner. My daughters really like her and have truly blossomed under her direction!

I have tutored American Sign Language (ASL) during my time as a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and as a federal employee.

With my Deaf experience and experience with tutoring ASL, I can make tutees feel comfortable with talking in ASL and talking with Deaf people, Hard-of-Hearing people, and Deafblind people.

As for a book, I recommend “Basic Course in American Sign Language” authored by Tom Humphries.

About Thomas

I am born and have grown up Deaf. I regularly communicate in American Sign Language (ASL). During my time at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), I weekly met a few students and helped them with their ASL courses. I signed words and sentences to these students when they asked me questi

Thomas does a great job teaching ASL. He helps you to actually use ASL in phrases to communicate rather than just focusing on single words.

I have a Master's Degree of Education, K-12 certification, and 8 years of experience teaching Spanish in schools and tutoring adults and children. The key to learning to communicate in a new language is to hear and use the language in context. I teach vocabulary using stories that create with my students, and we recycle that vocabulary in conversations, role plays and new stories we create together. By acquiring language naturally in this way, students are best able to learn and retain vocabulary and grammatical structures.
I tailor my lessons to my students' goals and interests. However, I have a general system and self-created curriculum that I successfully apply to most students. When I work with beginners, we focus on the 16 highest frequency verbs and most useful prepositions and expressions in the language, so that my students are able to express themselves on a variety of topics in just a few lessons. I incorporate authentic resources (resources from the Spanish-speaking ...

I am having so much fun learning Spanish with Ellen! She is very encouraging and patient. I didn't know any Spanish before, just some French. I am surprised by how much we can actually talk about. I like that she gives me scripts of our conversations to read for homework along with recordings of herself reading them. I listen to these often between lessons and find that it is really helpful.

10-Hour Course will prepare you to keep improving on your own and will improve at least 3-4 critical sounds/vowels/consonants that you struggle with the most. Liaisons and the schwa sound - most people have no idea about these, but you will learn what they are and how to sound more like a native speaker if you use them both correctly.

Suggested: At least 30 hours for long term accountability and change.

"It's official. Best instructor ever. Today was the end of my initial prepaid classes. I have already set up for another month. Jihye teaches at my pace. Is still very patient and reviews sections until I "get it". Sections that I get quickly, she moves on and then ties everything together.
She has a wonderful personality and literally makes learning the Korean language fun. She has me read, write, speak and laugh all while teaching. She always greets my family members if they happen walk by in the background.
I am making progress and look forward to my classes. Another plus is that she uses a textbook. So even though this is a holiday break, I can peek to future lessons and continue to practice.
A+++ to Jihye."

Learn Hiragana and Katakana With Japanese Calligraphy

When you're taking Japanese lessons, you will be introduced to various Japanese writing systems. Here, Winston-Salem, NC teacher Willy M. explains how learning Japanese calligraphy can help you understand the Japanese alphabet...  The Japanese alphabet, or writing systems, are very different from our alphabet in English. Japanese uses more than one syllabary. A syllabary is a group of syllables that make up different words. Think of it more like a phonics system. The difference between t …
