My lessons are customized to address the specific needs and goals of the student. My first lesson starts with an combined informal ( introduction and conversation) and more formal assessment (pronunciation, grammar, writing, etc.). I also use methods to meet the specific learning style of the student and rely on a variety of sources. For example, I often start with a pronunciation drill focused on a specific area and/or address a particular grammar area before having the student give a talk, engage in a role play, or work on piece of writing. Moreover, I work with students on specific communication goals (conversational English; formal presentations; chairing meetings; resumes and cover letters; interviews; reports and all other types of writing-- including essays, research papers, and legal writing; and test preparation, such as TOEFL and IELTS.

I've been teaching French for six years and my students have gone on to improve their grade substantially. Within the first few lessons, you'll get a better understanding of the material learned in class or if you are a new beginner, you will be able to read and speak basic French. I use different grammar and reading books depending on your level and make you practice with speaking and written exercises to vary the learning process. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I would be thrilled to meet you!

I feel that learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular is about repetition and I ask my students to repeat everything I teach over and over again until they know it by heart. I keep my lessons simple to avoid overwhelming the students and to allow time for them to repeat what they learned earlier. I teach the words that form part of the so called core vocabulary; words that are chosen according to frequency and range (in the sense that they “occur across a wide variety of texts”) It is often said that the first 2000 most frequent words cover approximately 90% of the vocabulary used by native-speakers in daily conversations. This means that for a student they represent the basic resource to be able to communicate.

Yoshi sensei does a great job teaching the fundamentals of the Japanese language For those who are new to or relearning (like me) Japanese, his teaching style and focus is perfect. He teaches well rounded lessons; covering written, spoken, and reading aspects through Kanji, Katakana, and hiragana. On a personal level, he is friendly, patient, fun, kind person. In addition, I have learned so many new things like Japanese Calligraphy, Japanese tea ceremony, Origami, Japanese traditional healthy meals, Japanese culture, etiquettes, manners, I highly recommend him as a tutor."

Je recommande vivement Elsa comme professeur-vous vous en profiterez immensément."
