What is my approach? First of all, I listen carefully, very carefully. I believe it is important for an excellent job to know precisely what my client wants to accomplish. Understanding this is the prerequisite to give good advice, guidance and then, of course, a plan, a kind of strategy to follow in order to reach these goals. There will be a permanent interaction between my client and myself to monitor the progress, eventually speed up the tempo or, if necessary, to slow down.
There is no dogma; there is only one main criterion: success.
About Wolfgang
I spent two decades of my professional life teaching English in Germany, authoring and co-authoring textbooks for the English classroom. During my stay in the US, I had the opportunity to develop curricula for teaching German in public schools as well as private schools and wrote articles in the fi

In my time with Wolfgang I have gained a greater appreciation for the German language, culture and idiosyncrasies. He has far-reaching expertise that goes beyond a text book. His linguistic knowledge will keep you on the right track and he will ensure you are having a fun time as well.
In the two years I have known Wolfgang he has been generous, challenging and a joy to be around and I look forward to each class.
Wolfgang is not only extremely knowledgeable of the German language in its grammatical form, but also the culture, the usage of the language, and the history of the language as well. He will no doubt give you the most in depth explanations for any questions you may have and will also do it without making you feel ashamed for asking! His lessons are fun, intuitive, and extremely helpful.
I highly recommend Wolfgang for your language learning goals! He is always punctual, always prepared, and answers any questions you may have, no matter how many times he has to explain it! Please give him a chance, he is a wealth of knowledge, makes his lessons fun, and I promise you will not regret it!!

I am an experienced native speaking German tutor who has been teaching students of all ages and levels. I am a certified Montessori Teacher. I believe in gently guiding, supporting, encouraging but also challenging my students. I love to share many fun facts , i.e. hilarious literal translations, as well as cultural and historical background of Germany. This will give my student a well balanced foundation, he /she will really experience the language, get a “real feel” for it! I customize my curriculum to my students needs, wishes and goals. After a few lessons my students can speak easy sentences and phrases in German already, they will understand even more and will use their newly acquired skills continuously. I strongly stress speaking in my native language to my students from an early point on. It is very important to me to make the language learning a pleasant and enjoyable experience! There shall be lots of laughter! However diligent work and great effort is necessary

I first started learning German due to a serendipitous move to Oklahoma following my junior year of high school. I have since really grown to love the German language and ended up getting a BA in German Studies (jointly with a BA in Spanish). I really love German literature, whether it's Goethe or Michael Ende, and I really enjoy Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Händel, and also Lieder (Shubert's "Erlkönig" being my favorite). I am also a huge fan of Die Prinzen. I consider myself an expert in grammar-related topics (including verb conjugation, cases, Konjunktiv I and II, etc.) but am also willing to teach vocabulary, pronunciation, and other topics.
