About Thomas
From the time I began musical training at the age of 5, I knew that music making would always be an important part of my life. It became my muse and I followed it all around the world. I have performed in Japan, England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France, Austria, and the United States. I know what makes a good musician and a good performer and I'm pleased to be able to share that with my students! MY STUDENTS WIN AUDITIONS! I taught in several of the States and in London. I am also a certified teacher in Missouri, Kansas and other States including England, Scotland and Wales. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate from Ball State University, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport. I have studied on fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival and University of London. While teaching in London I performed at many famous venues s
uch as Queen Elizabeth Hall, St. John’s Smith Square and Somerset House. I sing at Lyric Opera of Kansas City where I have appeared in over 90 productions. Upcoming: Mozart: Magic Flute, November 9-17, 2013 and Puccini: La Bohème, March 15-23, 2014   I also sing professionally at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Kansas City. Whether you are seeking coaching on technique, Broadway, Opera or the American Songbook, I would be happy to work with you to realize your full potential. I get excited about helping students become good performers! Let me help you become the best musician you can be, IN PERSON or ONLINE!

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid back teacher with a great sense of humor. You will also learn a lot of music theory and music history from me! My lessons begin with some training in reading music (Music Theory) and I suggest that you purchase Alfred's Music Theory Volume One or Two depending on your level of understanding.

After refreshing your music reading and rhythm skills, we will listen to you sing and begin to vocalize. I will develop exercises just for you, to help you develop your voice, making it stronger and more flexible.

When you have warmed up your voice with vocal exercises, we will work together on the music you wish to learn. It could be a song, an aria, a Broadway or Opera aria, or a religious piece.

Mac computer, multiple cameras and great sound system.

*** Specialties ***

He may be good if you want to sing opera. I just didn't connect with him and his 'Style' of teaching. I was looking for more current music and that was where a very large disconnect was.

Right off the bat I could tell that my daughter will flourish with Dr. G. He is very encouraging while simultaneously effective at improving a weak nuance of her current skill set without making it feel like a negative critique. She is very excited to see what he can help her accomplish.

Awesome teacher! The good Dr. knows his stuff and has the credentials to prove it. If you want to improve your voice give him a try. You won't be disappointed.

About Zach
Bonjour everyone , my name is Zach, I was born and raised in France in a small (tiny tiny) village called Galluis.

I have since then lived in Paris , Philadelphia and now New York.

He graduated from "Jean-Monnet European High-school" where I specialized in English and French Literature.

I have been teaching FRENCH and DRUMS for more than 12 years now.

About FRENCH LESSONS : ( section about DRUM LESSONS below )

Most people I've taught come to me saying "French is so hard , I will never be able to speak it" or "When I try to speak french, french people answer me in english"

--- THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN WITH ME :)

French is easy , you just need a good teacher who cares about you.
I do.

I can help you with :

• Pronunciation ( so that nobody will answer you in English )
• What to know if you go to France soon ( so
that you can know a little bit before you go )
• Basic to advanced conversation ( so you can make french friends and understand what they say )
• Train your ear
• Grammar / Vocabulary / Verbs

BUT DON'T WORRY , IT WILL BE FUN !

After the first lesson , ALL my students realize that learning french isn't scary anymore.

So : qui veut apprendre le français ?*

(*who wants to learn french?)

Section about DRUM LESSONS:

On the music side of my studies: I attended the American School of Modern Music of Paris for 3 years and moved to Philadelphia to study with Joe Morello's former student Sam Ruttenberg at the University of the Arts in 2012.

I perform as a professional jazz drummer between Europe and America.

~~Teaching Philosophy~~

IF YOU CAN SAY IT , YOU CAN PLAY IT !

•I teach beginners to advanced students , all ages and styles are welcome

I can teach you ( how to ) :

• read
• improvise
• play with other musicians
• the history of the drums
• your role as a drummer
• make music with an instrument that at first doesn't seem very musical
• swing
• latin / afro cuban grooves
• rock
• correct your grip on the sticks
and everything else you may ask... the possibilities and endless

Excellent teacher! Zach is wonderful. He is very knowledgable, patient and intelligent. I just moved from China to America, so my English is not so good. However, Zach is so kind and patient to encourage me to study French. I really enjoyed my first French lesson with Zach! And I am looking forward to continuing my lessons.

About Isoko
I am a native Japanese speaker and translator living in the United State. I have 2 years of experience to teach Japanese language to American high school students. During my college days, I assisted the Japanese class instructor and helped college students to read, write and speak Japanese. I tutored several students too. I enjoyed it very much.

I studied linguistics and one of the linguistics classes I took was Applied Linguistics, basically how to teach foreign languages. I chose Japanese and ended up with getting self-published with a Japanese grammar book.

I want my students to enjoy learning Japanese, because it is fun to learn a foreign language. I can teach any level and any age. Let me help you to speak real Japanese. Your life will be more colorful.

About Michael
I'm an Arizona State University Graduate with a Bachelor's in Finance, and an MBA. Something most people don't guess about me is that I'm bilingual in Spanish, I enjoy playing the piano, doing origami, and am surprisingly good on the basketball court! :)

I have worked as a private tutor on the side for over ten years with subjects ranging from Spanish, Chemistry, Calculus, Economics, Supply Chain Management, and my favorite from my personal line of work, Microsoft Excel.

I've worked with students ranging from junior high through graduate school, and into the professional workplace. I have a passion for teaching and relating to students' learning styles. I have a knack for taking "complex" subjects and making them relatable and understandable, and giving students their breakthrough moment. I just began teaching again after a short b
reak and my goal is to find more enthusiastic students that want to take their learning to the next level. If that is you then don't be shy and reach out to me!! :)
