Originally born in Germany, Chrissy developed a passion for music, language and teaching early on. Right out of High School she helped her mother, who was an educator at that time, write and stage-manage a children's Musical which found great response from the audience. During her Music studies in the Netherlands she was offered an internship at the local Music School which she gratefully accepted and where she enjoyed her first voice coaching experience. There she was also nominated as one of the most promising young singer/songwriters at the LUX Festival in Nijmegen. Over the years she was blessed with more and more private students in voice as well as piano. During her stay in New York she received the opportunity to work with a Broadway show ensemble ("Dreamgirls") as a Music Director on their different harmonic parts. She's proudly b

About Farobag

Music Director of the Chicago Philharmonia Orchestra since 1985, Farobag has also served as Managing Director of the University of Chicago Performing Artists Series from 1989 through 2002 and principal conductor of its resident professional ensembles. A skilled interpreter of Baroque literature as well, Farobag continues in his capacity as Artistic Advisor to the Baroque Masterplayers, a virtuoso ensemble that concatenates period performance techniques with modern instruments thus creating a unique voice within the realm of 17th and 18th- century repertoire.

A double graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester, Farobag studied under Anastasia Jempelis, a pioneer of Suzuki violin pedagogy in the United States. In addition to the Suzuki curriculum, he is also associated with the Royal Conservatory Music Devel

opment Program that sets a national standard of musical achievement in various fields.

Befitting his penchant for encouraging artistic interest amongst younger members of his community, Farobag is also the principal conductor of the Zoroastrian Symphony Orchestra that offers a unique mixture of young and seasoned professionals sitting side-by-side in a strictly professional setting. Since the year 2000, the ZSO has staged highly successful performances at various venues in Houston, Chicago, and Toronto. A New Year's eve performance in Los Angeles is scheduled for 2014.

Having also taken graduate-level coursework in educational psychology, mathematics, and philosophy at the University of Chicago, Farobag offers tutelage in various areas of elementary and secondary education as well as in SAT, ACT and GRE test preparation.

Additionally, as a certified Reiki Master, therapeutic and/or educational sessions are also extended to those who may be inclined to alternative healing techniques.

*** Lesson Details ***
Sheer technique is necessary but insufficient to play an instrument well. Aural skills, that include the study of functional tonality and voice-leading are important factors that impart musicality. This is of great import if the prospective musician wants the audience to truly enjoy his or her performance !

Whether it be the 3 Rs or preparation in the performing arts, a remarkable instructor must go well beyond the subject matter at hand and help imbue the student with a spirit of wonder that, in due time, will foster enthusiasm necessary for excellence.

A child emulates and learns to communicate in his or her mother-tongue through a supporting and nurturing environment. Likewise, a student needs to be sufficiently motivated to embrace learning in a familiar supportive manner.

I’m different than most voice teachers. I don’t make you practice. If you’re happy, I’m happy! If that means you want a lesson of all vocal exercises, cool! If you want to work on Puccini one lesson and Judas Priest the next.....niice! Why not? The more genres you try the more you’ll love music- and yes, you CAN sing as many styles as you want no matter what you’ve been told. I will never have you sing anything

you are not 100% stoked to sing- promise!

Maybe you don’t like your speaking voice and want that to be stronger for either professional or personal reasons. I do that, too. I can help you with confidence in basic conversations and accent reduction. Maybe you want singing lessons just ‘cause, and don’t ever want to sing in public because that terrifies you. I totally get it. And I say do it!

Acting? Music theory? These are also things I love to teach, especially newbies. I love helping beginner performers get confident in selecting material that shows THEM off- comic and dramatic.

I am a 62 year old person who had previously studied Spanish using Rosetta Stone and Duolingo. I started taking lessons with Georgina several years ago to provide a regular opportunity to engage in Spanish conversation. Our lessons have been free-flowing and she introduced me to a number of books written in Spanish which were not only helpful in further developing my knowledge of Spanish but were culturally enlightening as well. Georgina is easy to engage, a delightful person to know and an excellent instructor.

I have always been an actor first, it is the craft and discipline in which I hold my advanced degrees; it is my first and eternal love. There really isn't much more one could add to such a claim. Simultaneously I have believed a teacher is born, not bred; and I was born to be in theatre, and now, with a few years behind me; I'm ready to pass on what I have learned. Keith is an amazing teacher. My 7 year old son likes him very much. Before the lessons I worried our boy couldn’t build his interest in playing piano, just lose his enthusiasm after a while as the 7 years old always did. But Keith make me totally worry free, my son likes him very much, and he really knows how to build the kid’s interests and confidence while learning. Now my son enjoyed himself very much with Keith in their piano time. We are so lucky to find Keith.

We had four in-home lessons with Keith and he never once arrived on time. And not like 5 minutes late because of bad traffic or something. Once he was 40 minutes late, and another time he was 45 minutes late. For an hour lesson. At first I though there was some confusion because the time on take lessons was slightly different than the time we agreed to (he asked if we could start earlier than the time slot that was listed, and I agreed) but after speaking with him about it, we were both on the same page as to what time the lesson *should* begin, he just never arrived on time. He seems to be very overbooked and busy and does not respect his clients’ time. He told me that the disparity of arriving on time or a half hour late is “superfluous,” so if you hire him, be prepared to have a wide window of when he could show up. My kids liked him as a teacher, which is why I kept giving him chances and trying to work out scheduling issues (I offered to move our lessons to a different time, but he insisted the time we were at was fine) but in the end, things could not be resolved.
