I teach every student the technical skills and applied theory necessary to work in any contemporary style on guitar. I use the "Be better than you have to be" approach. Want to be the best on a bad day? Be better than your chosen style requires. I studied classical and jazz in order to excel at rock, folk and blues.
You will learn to read music and charts for guitar, as well as movable scale patterns, movable chord forms, and how to apply it all to master the fretboard.
Have you hit a road block? I can help. Are you brand new and want to be sure you understand the instrument completely? I can help.
UPDATE: I'M FULLY VACCINATED, BUT STILL FOLLOW COVID-SAFE GUIDELINES. IN-PERSON LESSONS ARE IN FULL SWING. I ALSO DO ONLINE WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART GEAR. MY NEW SPACE IS OPEN IN THE FLAT IRON ARTS BUILDING IN CHICAGO'S POPULAR WICKER PARK NEIGHBORHOOD. I STILL DO ONE DAY IN MY HOME STUDIO

Good habits and an excellent attitude make great cellists. It doesn't hurt to love music too. I love music and I love to share my passion with my students.
Having a teacher who is an experienced performer is an important quality in a teacher. I am a professional classical musician currently working as a freelance cellist in the Chicago area. I play with Chicago Philharmonic, the Northbrook Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Northwest Indiana Symphony, among others. Before coming to Chicago I played for 13 seasons with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
I have taught privately for over 10 years including 2 years in Paris. My teaching is a reflection of my teacher, Phillippe Muller. I studied with Msr. Muller while studying at the Paris Conservatory. Msr. Muller is currently a Professor of Cello at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
Even though I have been teaching and performing on the cello for most of my life, it's not all there is to who I am. I am a chef (almost--12 weeks to go), a mom, a wife. I have a cute little Tibetan Terrier that loves visitors. My husband and I love hiking in beautiful places. Studying with me
I'm truly ecstatic to continue studying with Wei!

I am an experienced performer and teacher with 20 years experience on my instrument. I specialize in non-traditional forms of improvised music and classical music, but teach all genres. My lessons are individually catered to students of all ages and learning abilities to keep their interest heightened and meet their needs. I assist students in building a strong musical foundation through proper technique, note-reading, and music theory along with ear training, listening and memorization.
As a classically trained cellist with more than 20 years experience and a nontraditional musical background in audio, experimental music, and jazz, I employ a variety of techniques in teaching my students in ways that are both traditional and nontraditional. Reiki is a Japanese technique used for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki promotes healing on a mental, emotional, and energetic level, and it is done through energy channeling. Reiki practitioners help balance and replenish the energy within the recipient's body. Life force energy flows through all of us and is what causes us to be alive. When our life force energy is low, that is when we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of ...

When learning to speak Japanese, you’ll come across suffixes used to address people called “honorifics.” Japanese honorifics are an important way to convey respect, formality, and friendship to those you interact with. To an English speaker, the concept of honorifics may seem new, but the fact is, we already use terms, such as Miss, Mr., and Dr. as prefixes. But …
