As a native German speaker and native English speaker, students will quickly learn German proficiency and lessons will be focused on the goals of the particular student.

I am a native German speaker and I teach German online and in person. I use a fun story book series that has been written in German for English native speakers (beginners as well as advanced students) to introduce new vocabulary and grammar. I will add grammar theory and exercises as needed. My teaching style is flexible and your input is very welcome! Don’t hesitate to suggest a topic of your interest. I have covered many varied topics upon request (the news, music, human anatomy,….). I also assist students with their assignments, prepare them for tests and help them improve their grades. I aim to quickly identify what the student is struggling with, and look for alternative ways to explain the topic.

I am an experienced native speaking German tutor who has been teaching students of all ages and levels. I am a certified Montessori Teacher. I believe in gently guiding, supporting, encouraging but also challenging my students. I love to share many fun facts , i.e. hilarious literal translations, as well as cultural and historical background of Germany. This will give my student a well balanced foundation, he /she will really experience the language, get a “real feel” for it! I customize my curriculum to my students needs, wishes and goals. After a few lessons my students can speak easy sentences and phrases in German already, they will understand even more and will use their newly acquired skills continuously. I strongly stress speaking in my native language to my students from an early point on. It is very important to me to make the language learning a pleasant and enjoyable experience! There shall be lots of laughter! However diligent work and great effort is necessary to be successful. It is a fun adventure! Let’s start! I cater the curriculum to the students skill level and desired goals. Everyone learns differently, and it is my responsibility to accommodate for this. I love to make learning enjoyable for everyone so it is important to recognize a students strengths as well as challenges, and adapt my teaching to create a better experience for the student! I teach many subjects and am used to making a variety of material enjoyable to learn for people of any age!

I can speak four languages, so I understand what it is like to learn a new language which is what makes me an excellent German tutor and teacher. My father is Swiss-German and my mother's ancestors are mostly German. I knew a bit of German growing up but I took German classes in school from ages 12-18 and ended up with an International Baccalaureate certificate in German. I also love German people and culture so come and learn with me, it would be my honor to teach you!

I grew up in the German part of Switzerland. I was exposed to the language throughout my schooling years. In my professional life as a doctor's assistant and later CEO assistant I needed to communicate daily in the German language. I studied business for 3 years. Over the last 3 years I have taught numerous people German. Some only need a little guidance, others keep on coming back to master more fluent conversation. I'm flexible with my time and willing to adapt to my students' needs.
