To a Musical 2018! Recital is coming! Practice, Practice, Practice! Congratulations to those who completed the 100 day challenge, WOW! I am currently full except for ONE slot Wed at 4:30, snatch it up quickly!
Goals: Since I am also a Life Coach, we really focus on how to accomplish our hopes and desires. We begin by weekly, then monthly and even a yearly goal.
Each week we also focus on something in my STUDENT PAL - mnemonic. Another is TECHNIQUE. Technique is the ability to have proper position, wrist-lifts and finger curve as well as Theoretic knowledge and application.
I started giving out lickable gold stars, you know, the old-fashioned kind? They are for those students who mark their lesson sheet and come prepared... They really seem to enjoy that, and I adore the nostalgia!

It is a great week when students are nearly
all prepared and ready for their lessons. This makes both Coach and student more effective and the time together more enjoyable.
Perhaps you are reading this with both a little excitement and a little concern. Finding the right person for your or your student can be intimidating. A short introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy which can assist you make an informed decision. If we are a good fit, lessons and learning progress more joyfully.
I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven. I have since taught the students of former students! How fun is that?
Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Teaching at the Young Artists Conservatory of Music; Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years has been a delight.
I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons, which we revisit monthly. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them/you to accomplish the goals set, working with music that delights and educates.
You want the best teacher, who offers information, example, practice and performance opportunities and then gets out of the way of the student's own "voice" (whether playing or singing) so that they can be free to create their own style.
*** Lesson Details ***
In our lessons, we work with a predictable schedule of balance. We have weekly exercises to make strong fingers and or voices, and technique and theory practice to hone skills that will improve our performances, whether they are for others or for our own benefit. Each student of piano can learn how to create and write their own music in time, choose their own pieces to work on, and have a say in their classical and performance goals.
We have a program of advancement, so you and your loved ones can visually see your progress and measure your skills, complete with awards and trophies.
What you learn, has everything to do with your commitment. Practice doesn't make perfect, Practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.
Learning the piano ought to be a JOY. I believe in playing the piano, not 'practicing' it. Enjoy what you do, and you'll do it longer and with celebration instead of duty.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano - upright; CD player; Music stands; Dozens of music books and lesson materials; flash cards; computer and music writing program; mic and mirror, syllabus.
*** Travel Equipment ***
No travel.
*** Specialties ***
Over the years I have dabbled in most methods, but finally come to use my own syllabus and musicianship. I can easily adapt to your favourite if that is your desire. I specialize in a total music education, not merely in learning notes. It is like looking in a mirror and only seeing eyes and skin. Music has many facets and we discover all of them.

I have been a voice, acting, and teacher of creative arts for over 25 years. My background includes ten years of classical voice training with Maestro Julio Berrocal, as well as vocal training through the Feldenkrais approach with Marcy Lindhiemer. In acting, I have studied with renowned Stanislavsky scholar Sonia Moore and Master acting teacher of the Strasberg Method, Marcia Haufrecht. I received a B.A. For comparative literature and creative writing at the State University of New York at Purchase and have recently completed my Master's degree in social work at Walden University.

nd confidence to achieve their goals. I empathize deeply with the challenges students may face when pursuing a life in the creative and performing arts, having worked professionally in those areas for most of my adult life. I believe, it is the teacher's job to respect each student's individual process of learning.
My students have gone on to become recording artists, Broadway performers, movie actors, Blues and cabaret artists, and published writers.

Voice
I am an empathetic teacher, sensitive to the student's individual process of learning. My singing lessons usually start with breathing and relaxation exercises. Vocal technique exercises come next. When the student is fully warmed up, we will begin to work on songs. It is important that students be a part of the process of picking material since the more personally they respond to the material the more apt they are to become engaged in their lessons. After three to six months beginning students will have gained an understanding of the fundamentals of breathing, relaxation, and basic performance skills. With more advanced students the focus will be on range extension and the on-going development of vocal style through song interpretation and performance related exercises.
Acting
As an acting teacher and coach, I tailor my classes to the needs of each student. I utilize improvisatory and sensory techniques to help unleash spontaneity. I also encourage the students to use their personal experiences as a way to access a full range of emotions. I enjoy working with the student on script analysis, so as to discover the underlying motivations of the character the student is working on.
Creative and Lyric Writing
I use prompts as a way to get the student writing. Often, I will ask the student to write for stretches of time without editing themselves. It is important to unleash imagination before beginning the process of editing. Many times it is the unexpected that is the most compelling.

I am a graduate of UC San Diego (bachelor of arts, sociology) and UCLA (master of public policy). As a child of immigrant parents, I value diversity and love learning languages. I read, write and speak Spanish fluently, and have intermediate command of both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese in reading, writing, and speech.
Photography has been one of my main areas of focus for over ten years. I am trained in both film and digital formats and specialize in demystifying the DSLR so that you gain a good understanding of manual settings and how to use each to improve your photos.
Caring, compassion, and understanding are essential for learning and I strive to do my best in these areas.

Hi!
I have been tutoring students since I was an undergrad back in Spain. While doing so, I realised there are very few better feelings besides the satisfaction of being a part of the improvement of your student's skills and knowledge.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in philology, so I have a deep knowledge on how languages construct themselves and work. Besides, I have a Master's degree in Literary Studies and am currently a PhD student in Literary Studies. But most importantly, I was born in Madrid (Spain) and lived there for over twenty years, so you'll get to learn Spanish and its culture from a truly Madrilenian!
My tutoring approach is based mostly on theory and practice, with a lot of perseverance! I usually like to teach some aspect of the language and then make the student approach it in a practical way. Lessons can be tailor

Hi!
My name is Sam (short for Samantha). I'm from England but have been living and teaching in the USA since 2014 where I studied for my MA in German Studies at the University of Florida. I started learning German in school at 14 so I know what it's like to learn this language as well as teaching it. I perfected my German skills by studying German as my major at undergrad, studying in Düsseldorf plus living and working in Berlin. I have a huge love for all things German and want to pass that on to you. German can be a tough language to learn but it really is rewarding. I consider myself to be an approachable teacher who will always strive to steer your lessons to cover things that interest you personally.

Ciao! I was born in Sardinia, a beautiful island in the Mediterranean sea. After completing my masters I obtained a PhD in Neuroscience. During the past 10 years I have traveled a lot and lived between New Mexico, Bordeaux (France), and Japan. These experiences allowed me to meet amazing people, understand and appreciate different cultures, and try new flavors, while sharing the regional specialties of my native island. I practiced formal teaching in the University setting and during workshops.
I love the outdoors, and of course preparing and enjoying a delicious meal!

Furthermore, I did an internship from September 2013 to June 2014 as Spanish Teacher
Assistant in two different faculties of Fontys University in Tilburg. (The Netherlands): Fontys University of Applied Sciences and Fontys University Economy and Business. I have to admit that this experience was wonderful and it made me to be more and more interested in the Spanish Teacher world. In addition, this great opportunity gave me the chance to improve my classroom management strategies and learn about adult education too. At the same time, during my stay in The Netherlands, I attended a teacher training course of Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes of Utrecht, specializing in dynamic activities for teach lexicon, grammar and syntax among adult people. I also attended another course from Instituto Cervantes this year to have the capacity to analyze Spanish oficial exams.
Recently, I have finished a training course to teach Spanish as a foreign language in ‘Universidad Europea de Madrid’ and I am very motivated to continue training for the future too.
Teaching Spanish as a foreign language is one of my biggest vocations.
Nowadays, I work as a Spanish teacher in Lake Oconee Academy in Greensboro.
