Victoria and TheClaremontsTutors have been my answer! Victoria (she owns the school and teaches Russian) is a lovely teacher. She is incredibly patient and creates an environment that really supports the learning process. What I love is that she emphasizes conversation, so during lessons you don't spend the whole time conjugating verbs or memorizing vocabulary, but actually communicating in Russian. She does assign exercises you can do at home to help reinforce what you learn in class, but for the most part you really are learning to speak (and listen!) in Russian. Also, the class rates were extremely reasonable and the group classes were small, so you get a lot of individualized instruction.
After almost three months of weekly classes, I felt like I have made a lot of progress learning and communicating in Russian, and I gave Victoria and TheClaremontsTutors all of the credit."
And they're not alone!
