My teaching approach is eclectic, drawing from a wide variety of methods and repertoire to fit the individual goals of each student. Students 5 to 95 are welcome in my studio and have made progress reaching their goals, be it studying cello at the college level, auditioning for All-State, or simply playing for fun.

A typical lesson involves scale and technique study, etudes or orchestra class pieces, and selections from the standard (and not so standard!) cello repertoire.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

So much more than a teacher - Ray has become a mentor to my daughter. He not only teaches her the technics of reading and performing music, but encourages her to grow professionally. Most importantly, his excitement and love of music make the lessons so much fun - I hear the (laughing and) improvement in her voice during every lesson.

I am a strong believer that every singer should have an opportunity to tell a story that is unique to their own voice. Through my own performances and studies, I have learned that no two singers are alike and thus no two singers should be taught in the same way. I will tailor my lessons to help develop each singer along their personal vocal journey and help them achieve their goals. With consideration for each singer's experience level and personal goals, I will cover a wide variety of skills including music learning methods, diction and language, vocal technique, musicality, and stage presence.
