I am a 20 year musician with 11 years teaching experience. Born and raised in New York City, I attended Laguardia high school for music and art and afterward Queens College majoring in music. My main instruments are Clarinet, Drums, and Saxophone, but i also have a strong background in Piano, Trumpet, and Flute. I've taken private music lessons for the past 15 years with world class musicians, among them David Weber and Howard Hirsch. I've performed in every major concert hall in New York City, including Carnegie Hall when i was only 11 years old. I performed alongside many famous musicians, including the late Tito Puente.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching includes all aspects of music; Musical theory, sight singing, as well as Music History. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emph
asize a strong practice regiment. Your child will understand that while learning music and an instrument can be fun, there will be some work involved if they want to become great. I usually use either the Alfred or Rubank method books to supplement a curriculum that I tailor make for each individual student. Any question or confusion a student has about anything during the lesson will be explained in detail and dealt with until he/she understands the concept. I've had many students pass all levels of the ABRSM and NYSSMA exams as well as receive academic scholarships for musical excellence.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I require that students buy the books I suggest, but if it is necessary, I can provide photocopies of pages from the books that I own. I also require my students to provide all writing equipment.

all methods and styles. I've played clarinet and saxophone for orchestras, symphonic bands, and jazz bands. I've played drums for jazz, rock, and acoustic sets.

David came on time for our schedule lesson and came in ready to go. He helped my son the corrected way to blow trumpet (which he never learn from school) and broke down lesson so that he is not over wheeled. In just first lesson, I can hear the difference in my son's use of trumpet.

About Eliza S.
Eliza is a professional ballet dancer and teacher based in New York City.

She is a native of Massachusetts and studied at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, spending summers at Boston Ballet School, School of American Ballet, and Miami City Ballet School. She began her professional career after high school, accepting an apprenticeship at Charlotte Ballet, and then at Richmond Ballet. In Richmond, Eliza had the opportunity to choreograph, and was inspired to move to New York City to become a more versatile artist. She continued to dance professionally with Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance and Buggé Ballet while completing her BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Since graduating, Eliza has had many incredible professional experiences. Some of the most memorable include touring The Nutcracker and Cinderella with New York Theatre Ball
et, dancing the Sugar Plum Fairy in Artisan Dance Company's The Nutcracker, performing in The Sleeping Beauty with American Ballet Theatre at the Metropolitan Opera House, and participating in Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance's residency at Kaatsbaan International Dance Center. In December 2016, Eliza performed as a demi-soloist in the premiere production of Brooklyn Ballet's The Brooklyn Nutcracker at Brooklyn Museum, and in January 2017 she was a featured dancer in Secondary Dominance, an original opera which premiered at HERE Arts Center as part of the 2017 Prototype Festival. Eliza also interned at ABT's Jacquelyn Kennedy Onassis School, and subsequently completed the ABT® National Training Curriculum in Levels Pre-Primary through Level 5.

Eliza is very grateful for the professional experiences she has had so far. As she continues to dance professionally and teach ballet to dancers of all ages and levels, she looks forward to expanding her horizons by pursuing many more versatile opportunities.

Not only is Eliza a certified teacher, but she is very insightful and genuinely cares about your goals. She has given great tips and suggestions to help me improve both in and out of her class.

Since I started taking lessons with her about 5 months ago, I've seen a lot of improvement. She makes sure that you work hard every single class and she doesn't let you get away with not doing your best. Also, she has been working with me on fixing the bad habits I never knew I had before she pointed them out. Moreover, she is very observant and tailors each class to work on the things she sees you struggling with, even if you don't realize it yourself that you are having trouble. Eliza has taught me so much and I'm sure that anyone would benefit from taking her class.

I am currently dancing with the Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company and on faculty teaching at the Paul Taylor School. While maintaining a professional dance career in New York City, I have been passionate about teaching dance for the past 9 years.

I have taught Master Classes and Intensive Workshops in the Paul Taylor style throughout the nation, as well as teaching Vaganova Ballet at the Joffrey Ballet School. I have taught in numerous public schools through teaching residencies with Rioult Dance Company and Education In Dance. I believe these experiences have taught me how to assess individuals quickly and provide clear feedback in a positive and supportive way.

My teaching style is energetic, and focused on the personal experience each dancer is having, while giving direct and clear feedback. My goal is to help students reach their art
istic potential in their dancing by helping to combine technique with lyricism, rhythmic dynamics and emotive qualities.

Private lessons can be catered toward each individual. Either for an upcoming audition, feedback on solo or ensemble choreography, to help personalize technical corrections and to help push technique to a higher level, or for non dancers to help understand movement and feel comfortable in a beginning class.

About Lauren
I'm an actor/musician in NYC, and have taught kids all over the world! I'm available for in-home, online, and in-studio lessons, where I can teach violin, flute, singing, acting, and English (ESL). In addition to teaching, this summer you can see me play the title role in The Fiddler on the Roof off-Broadway at NYTF, directed by Tony and Oscar winner, Joel Grey!

I received my BFA in Acting from Boston University's school of theater, but I have been making music since I could walk. As a classically trained singer, violinist and flautist, I've been able to incorporate my musical talents with my career as an actress. I play a range of professional gigs, from churches to rock concerts to pit orchestras. I had the chance to travel around the US, performing in theaters around the country for the Broadway national tour of the tony-award winni
ng actor/musician musical, Once! My range of experience helps me cater lessons to you and your specific needs.

While most of my life has been spent performing, I discovered a love for teaching after college. I have been teaching music and theater for 5 years, and two years ago I began teaching ESL to elementary students in Turkey. I fell in love with teaching English, and feel my training in theater and music helps me use different, exciting teaching techniques in our lessons. I am conversational in both Turkish and Spanish as well!

No matter if we're working on music, acting, or English, I'm incredibly committed to my students and want each lesson to be fun and motivational. I'm a patient, supportive teacher, and know that each student is unique and moves at his/her own pace! Please reach out to me, and I will be happy to answer your questions!

We love Lauren. She is making violin a great experience for our daughter (11 yrs old). She is very thorough and encouraging, and introduces interesting music that is fun and challenging for a beginner student. Our daughter says she can truly feel her own improvement, and is really happy to have additional lessons with Lauren, beyond what she receives in school. Lauren is flexible with scheduling and very reliable, and we intend to stick with her - and with the violin- for the duration!

Lauren Thomas is an excellent musician with a tremendous amount of patience and a seemingly boundless supply of talents. As a fellow musician who has played professionally alongside Lauren, I have witnessed first hand her skilled mastery of both the flute and the violin -- as intuitive as she is technically proficient. Apart from her musical abilities, she's kind, fun and sensitive and would make for either a great beginner violin teacher or as an instructor for someone with intermediate skills looking to expand their abilities. Cannot recommend her highly enough! Whether you're seeking instruction in the flute or the violin, Lauren's the woman for the job.

I am a musician and actor living in New York City who is passionate about sharing music with students of all ages. I have been playing piano for almost as long as I can remember. I trained classically growing up, and more recently have shifted my focus to playing jazz. Because of this, I am able to help students take their playing in whatever direction they desire, whether that be learning to play from sheet music or improvisation.

I recently graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where I studied theater. I've been lucky enough to combine my love of theater and music by working as a music director and composer on a number of productions.

I am a NYC based Casting Director and audition technique coach and teacher and have been casting for over 20 years for National commercials and voice over, well known TV shows/channels, webseries, and films. Actors working with me will have the opportunity to raise their auditions to a competitive level. I encourage and introduce unique, creative ideas to actors based on many factors...what I have observed in casting sessions that works and catches my attention, what directors, producers, and other “decision makers” respond positively to, my conversations with casting director peers as well as the specific trends. Actors will learn ways to feel more confident, relaxed and comfortable in auditions by learning the “behind-the-scenes” casting process that can make auditions very intimidating. They will gradually feel more in control and
present in the audition room and consequently be able to perform at the height of their intelligence.

I also have a strong background in comedy. I cast several hilarious promos for COMEDY CENTRAL for Amy Schumer Show, The Daily Show, The Nightly Show w/Larry Wilmore, South Park, & Tosh.0. Completed casting on a comedy series for TruTV’s Late Night Snack, titled “Blank meets Blank,” worked on the casting of films “Hedwig And The Angry Inch,” “Shortbus”, “Series 7,” “Great World Of Sound;” “Just Like the Son” w/ Mark Webber & Brendan Sexton III, “Doomsdays” w/Leo Fitzpatrick, “Hannah Has a Ho Phase” w/Kate McKinnon, “C Street” w/Dylan Walsh, Don Stark, Michael Gross, Jessica Blank & Grainger Hines, short films “Visit 57” directed by Kate Phelan; & a hilarious short film “Murphy Crib, featuring an ensemble of creative female comedy talent. I have cast comedic hosts for HISTORY CHANNEL & new dating show “Date Night Live” for LIFETIME as well as cast for FULL FRONTAL w/SAMANTHA BEE.

I worked with & learned from top commercial & film directors, including John Cameron Mitchell, Tom DiCillo, Jesse Peretz, Matt Aselton, Phil Morrison, Jeff Preiss, David Gordon Green, Pam Thomas, Kinka Usher, Frank Samuel, Dewey Nicks Mark Pellington, Mark Tiedeman, Fredrik Bond, Stacy Wall, & Morgan J Freeman. I also graduated from Level 1 & 2 improv at The PIT, performed a storytelling at The Magnet as well as participated in the show Mortified.

I started working with Andy as I began taking more classes at One on One. I found that if I worked my TV and film sides with him, on camera, prior to doing them in class for casting directors, my work was much more alive, and I left those auditions/intensives feeling like I had really put my best foot forward, as opposed to feeling like I had not been technically prepared, or wishing that I had played around with the material more before going into the room and making that investment. Watching the playback with Andy has made seeing myself on camera easier as well. For me, it's a big confidence builder to be able to watch how your work translates on film prior to seeing it in front of a whole class.

About Josh
Hi guys, I’m Josh Mowery from Cleveland Ohio and began my acting career st the Cleveland Rep at the insistence of my local talent agent David Lee Models and talent.
I discovered very quickly that this was a business I was meant for. After performing in a few theatrical productions, I was offered a directing opportunity in an Inge play called Picnic. Quite a task for a first time director since the cast involved 13 actors.
I learned very quickly that the story is the main focus, which means no actor is bigger than another. The ensemble is what’s important.
Among my many points for an actor are listening and focus.
I like to cut through all the BS and concentrate on what’s really important. Less is always more. Your first lesson as an actor.
I’ve directed an tutored many actors along the way including my son an
d daughter who are now proud members of The Screen Actors Guild.
I’m the oldest of 7 kids and we all still love each other. Which should say a lot.
I hope to hear from you. You won’t be disappointed. I wish you all great success and just remember, follow your dream no matter what. Life is to short.
