I am a teacher of twelve years and I love what I do! My jazz lessons may consist of warm up, stretch, technique, progressions, choreography, and improvisation. We will condition, build strength and flexibility, coordination and confidence. My main goal is that my students have fun in addition to benefitting from our lesson. All my classes are personalized to suit my students' goals, progression, and timeline.

I have been teaching dance for over 10 years. In that time I have found that, regardless of what style you are learning, everything is made of a few fundamental principals and components specific to that style. There are only so many ways you can move your feet and body. By understanding these principals & components, you can then put them together in any order with different style to create different dances. By laying the proper foundation, students have an easier time following choreography, learning to apply their own style, and even keeping up with a class. Once a dancer has a foundation to work up on, I introduce new concepts in layers to help dances feel better and develop a nicer aesthetic.

Learn to dance with Ferlyn! My History of Jazz: I have been teaching jazz for about 8 years. My training is gained mostly from my mentors Frit & Frat and through King's Dance Center in central California. My Teaching Method: I assess each students' levels, knowledge and styles of learning, determine the best learning paths to incorporate into the lesson and bring a "natural movement" approach of training and education. With my method, this is to provide a collaborative & supportive environment as well as actively develop a person's life, culture and well-being. I strive to take a step further and deeper within the mind of the person who is learning dance and find one's "True Inner Dancer." My Teaching Credits: Crenshaw Arts/Tech Charter High School King’s Dance Center Vive American Dance Studio My Training Credits: CSU, Los Angeles | BA in Theatre Arts and Dance - Dance emphasis | Jazz - Frit & Frat --- JAZZ: King’s Dance Center, Jaami W.V., Veronica Velasco PLEASE NOTE: For a more accurate look into my experience and resume, please refer to my profile. Also, any advanced, duet, group, weddings, birthdays, or any special occasion will differ than the usual lesson rate.
