I have been coaching in this subject for over 16 years. There is no specific curriculum as each student will come to lessons with their own unique skills, needs, and goals. Lessons are tailored to those specifics. Lessons focus on vocal production technique (enunciation, breathing, projection, inflection, etc.), stage presence, and interpretation. These areas are usually worked on using texts provided by the student. Additional material may be used as needed. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.

The spoken word. Have you ever thought you would like to do read children's stories? Voice-overs? Read commercials? Read audio books? Speak publicly? Lose a bad speaking habit, change an accent or just refine your speaking voice?

Over the years I have produced hundreds of hours of spoken word recordings getting the very best performances out of many people. Let me know if you have a spoken word goal. Announcers and reporters for any broadcast media need to be very well-spoken, and also be familiar with studio etiquette. We can help.

Randy is an outstanding teacher. I started out with zero singing experience and was scared to sing anything in public. Thanks to Randy's instruction and guidance, I recently song a song (while I played guitar) for family for the first time in my life. In addition to being a fantastic teacher, Randy is an all around great guy. Highly recommended!

This review is waaaay over do. When I was begginer singer Randy was the first teacher to break down to me why my goals were more than realistic and set a new standard for what I felt a instrument coach should be. So here we go.

Randy is every creative, spontaneous, disorganized person's dream come true. Someone who helps you build the connection to your imagination to create whatever music you want in reality. He understands the common misconceptions people have that cripple their creativity and he will get you out that box really fast. Randy works to educate you and give you tools to where you don't need him. That's how much love this teacher has for his students. There is a lot of potential people have that they miss out on because they don't have the right teacher. So going to list some specifics.

1) If your a begginer artist rather if sing or have a different instrument your trying to improve with, know if you start with Randy you will be in GREAT hands. Music theory in general can be confusing but its the foundation any serious artist needs to understand to create their own music. Randy is great with explaining and helping you understand whatever area your struggling with.

2) Randy is all about organization and helping you set the right goals. Alot of your visions and ideas as a artist can be all over the place and knowing where to start can be overwhelming. First session you will be leaving with a game plan that will not fail so long as you do your homework.

3) For the singers who don't think they can sing certain songs know that Randy is very talented in making music. He can put any song you want to sing in your own range and is all about you sounding like you. He will help you discover what chords and melodies sound good with your voice. This is very important because again you get out of that limited box holding back your creativity.

4) This is the most important thing. Accountability.
Randy will make it very clear to you with everything he gives you that its on you to practice these things. He doesn't do a half job and he is thorough. He is the kind of professional you need to work with and I promise if you do book with him you will not look at alot of other teachers the same. He is worth every penny!

So in conclusion if you want to sing well or make your own tunes in no time, Randy is the man you need to talk to. All you gotta be is disciplined and do your homework. This teacher makes it fun and exciting.
Ron K.

Private Speaking Voice Lessons Near You

Have you ever wished you could speak more clearly and expressively, with precise articulation and diction? Can you image standing up in front of ten, 100, or even 1,000 people to speak and feeling confident, instead of fearful? Do you dream of a career in broadcasting, but struggle to master a neutral accent? By studying elocution with a private speaking voice teacher, you can do these things.

Working with an elocution teacher, you'll learn the art of public speaking. You'll not only study the physical principles of proper breathing, speaking, projection, and articulation, but also the craft of delivering a speech with expression, thoughtfully placed emphasis, and a cool head. In speaking voice classes, you'll gain confidence that travels through your voice to inspire an audience.

Why Learn How to Improve Your Speaking Voice?

Most of us talk every day, throughout the day, so it's only natural to wonder why it might be a good idea to practice speaking even more. When you study elocution with a speaking voice teacher, you'll learn to speak more intentionally. You'll improve your confidence and learn to speak more clearly. You'll improve your diction, enunciation, and projection.

Working one-on-one with a speaking voice tutor can help you further your career in acting, broadcasting, voice acting, business, politics, entertainment, teaching, motivational speaking, or DJing. Speaking lessons are great for people who frequently find themselves on the stage or in front of a crowd. They're also wonderful for anyone who needs to use their voice professionally (and that's almost everyone).

The way you speak, your quality and confidence of voice, and the way you present yourself while speaking all affect how others view you. Your speaking voice can immediately give a listener (sitting in an audience or across the board room table) the impression of weakness and timidity or strength and confidence. By learning to improve your speaking voice, you'll learn how to control the persona you convey to whomever happens to hear you. You'll learn to sound powerful, compassionate, excited, and energized. You'll learn how to gain the respect and attention of entire rooms just by opening your mouth.

The Best Way to Learn Elocution and What You'll Study in Speaking Voice Classes

You can find plenty of free speaking voice classes and tutorials online, but the best way to learn how to improve your speaking voice is with a private teacher. Your lessons will be completely tailored to meet your needs, strengthen your unique voice, and help you overcome your own individual challenges. With your teacher's undivided attention and immediate feedback, you'll improve fast.

Teachers also design lessons with the student's preferred learning style in mind. For example, speaking voice lessons for adults differ greatly in terms of content and teaching methods from speaking voice classes for kids. No matter your age, you'll stay interested and motivated, as you work at a comfortable pace.

Sample Curriculum for Beginner Speaking Voice

If you have little or no public speaking or elocution experience, then beginner lessons are right for you. Your teacher will introduce you to the basics of training and improving your speaking voice. Your teacher might choose to cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to mouth, nasal, chest, and diaphragm voices
  • Practice proper breathing
  • Diaphragm projection
  • Diction exercises and tongue twisters
  • Accent reduction

Sample Curriculum for Intermediate Speaking Voice

If you've already had some previous experience with public speaking or prior elocution lessons, then intermediate classes are for you. You'll learn to expand your range and project your voice safely. Your teacher might cover the following topics:

  • Develop resonance
  • Increase vocal coordination
  • Stretch your vocal flexibility
  • Isolate and strengthen individual muscles for improved articulation

Sample Curriculum for Advanced Speaking Voice

If you're already an adept public speaker, advanced lessons can help you further hone your craft. You'll have the opportunity to work and practice with a professional. Subjects covered in advanced lessons depend on the student's interests and goals, but your teacher might cover the following topics:

  • Speaking expressively
  • Pick your focus: elocution for acting, business, broadcasting, public speaking, etc.
  • Lear to speak expressively
  • Master the art of captivating and connecting with an audience
  • Performance preparation
