Alan is a great teacher. His lessons offer a real mix of technical practice and information on deaf culture which I was looking for. He is flexible with time and always willing to 'chat' a few minutes longer than the lessons require. I would recommend him to anyone interested in learning (or improving their prior knowledge of) ASL online.

Alan is always well prepared and very thorough throughout lessons. I’m an adult student with a lot of experience learning languages. Alan challenges me without overwhelming me, slows me down so I’m sure to learn it instead of rushing ahead.

Alan is a very Thorough instructor. He explains things so it’s easy for his students to learn. Thank you for your patience. Looking forward to next weeks class.
Congratulations on taking the first step to learn the beautiful language of ASL! After studying under Deaf professors myself, I am thrilled to offer you help along your learning journey! I offer between 25-30 ASL lessons which will help a complete novice cover all of the ASL beginner lessons and learn about Deaf history and culture.
Want to learn to speak Spanish? Sign ASL? I would love to be a part of your journey! I am a patient, and friendly person, who is passionate about language learning!
SPANISH: I use my own personal learning experience mixed with a communicative approach to create a teaching method for my Spanish students. My Spanish teaching method focuses on the development of these four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and then writing. Do you have specific goals? Great! Or are you learning just to be able to speak any and all that you can? Awesome! I teach beginner and intermediate and am a conversation partner and tutor for students more advanced! Also be prepared to be challenged to get involved with the Latin American culture around you!
ASL: My lessons will give you a strong foundation in Sign, and then a few training wheels until you fee
l confident in what you know, and can converse about various real-life topics. My teaching method utilizes much of Deaf professor Dr. Bill Vicars' approach--with signed conversation in each lesson beginning with high frequency concepts. Each lesson is full of new signs, grammar, conversation, Deaf culture tidbits, and more.
About me: I fell in love with language when in 2010 I lived, studied, and worked abroad in Colombia, South America. There I studied Spanish, worked with Deaf students, and taught Spanish speakers English. It was such an enriching experience that upon returning to the USA, I decided to fully surround myself with culturally diverse individuals and continue my learning journey.
One of the major differences between learning a language in a classroom and having a personal instructor is that one-on-one help you will receive --- specific to your level, learning style, and language goals. I will help you stop feeling nervous, renew your motivation, and get you communicating in a new language in no time!!
First lesson was great! Joy is very knowledgeable and tailored the class to the pace needed for me. I look forward to continuing to learn from her.

Joy accurately assessed our daughter’s abilities and catered each lesson to engage, as well as challenge her. Our daughter enjoyed her online sessions, where she not only gained conversation experience, but also expanded her vocabulary and conjugational skills. She will be starting this school year with greater confidence in her Spanish class. Thank you so much for all your help, Joy, and we look forward to more lessons with you!
I love sign language! It is not only something I use as a Sign Language Interpreter but as an everyday language amongst friends. What experience do I have?? I have had a lot of experience teaching sign language both for work and pleasure. I have had experience working with many age groups teaching Sign Language. Some Elementary School-High School Level, Businesses and Employees seeking to learn ASL to enhance customer service opportunities, and even young children with multiple disabilities. I cater to many different needs as well! I have taught many children and young adults learning just for fun! Others are more advanced and wish to pursue careers in Deaf Ed and Interpreting. Another one of my highly effective areas is helping those in the medical field learn to better assist their patients belonging to the deaf community.
What can you get from my class that you may not get from others? For starters, in teaching my own courses I have found the best ways to make learning ASL

I had a difficult time deciding on a teacher in the past on here because of early reviews people had after only one lesson. I decided to wait until I took all 10 of my one hour lessons with Victoria to give my insight. It has been a great experience me, and whether you are a little experienced with Deaf culture and sign language, or know absolutely nothing, I know you will benefit from taking classes with Victoria. I have felt my confidence communicating with Deaf people increase and I can feel that I am getting better each week. It has been great being able to go at (what I consider) a fast pace and not having to go at the slower pace of a large class, while still getting the attention to detail and ensuring that I am understanding and following the correct grammar and signs. I recommend that, while you take classes, you practice and put in work outside of that time so you can benefit even more from her lessons. I'm already looking forward to the next 10 lessons and hopefully more!

I listen to voice through a Bluetooth device. Victoria speaks very clearly and it is easy for me to understand her.
Have you ever wanted to learn American Sign Language, but couldn’t find out where? Here is an opportunity for you to learn at your pace and your convenience. I first began learning Sign Language back in 2nd grade. In high school my school offered both ASL 1 and 2. I then became more interested in the Language and decided to major in Deaf Education. I have been in the Deaf Education field for 6 years now and I enjoy helping my students communicate using ASL. I hope to connect with you soon!
I am a certified teacher of the Deaf. I currently teach 2nd grade. I have also taught PK-2 and 5-8th grade. I graduated from Kent State University in Ohio. I recieved my Bachelors Degree in Deaf Education.
I have tutored students that need extra help with reading and math. I have also tutored parents of children that are deaf. I volunteer at my church and teach American Sign Language.
If you are deaf, your child is deaf, or you simply want to learn a new language. I recommend you choose me as your American Sign Language teacher.
She was very professional. She was on time; stuck to the program; and was very polite.

Ava Haynes is a phenomenal force. The Young Beauty Academy had ASL teacher Ava Haynes and the girls were signing in sentences within 1 hour. I never have seen a person so gentle and thorough with children. The children had the best experience because of Ava Haynes expertise. We will definitely have her for the next group of Young Beauties.
I have been communicating using American Sign Language for over 15 years. I have a bachelor's degree in American Sign Language interpreting. I have been an interpreter for 11 years and I am nationally certified through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. All ages welcome. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be signing in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of grammar, vocabulary, Deaf Culture, and more. Let's get started!
I have been a professional American Sign Language interpreter for over 11 years. I graduated from MacMurray College with a Bachelors of ASL Interpreting and from Walden University with both a Master's degree in both Business Administration and Education.

Flute students can expect to improve week to week in their technique. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.
I teach students of all different ages and experience levels. I can teach American Sign Language students the grammar and vocabulary necessary for communicating in American Sign Language. I can teach flute studen
ts to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.
As a nationally certified ASL interpreter, I am on the state registry of supreme court interpreters and have worked as the Director of a Community Center for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing. I have taught ASL privately for 20 years and professionally for 5 years.

Hello! I have my BA in Fine Arts and have been teaching arts since 2015. I also am active and have taught in the Deaf community ASL since 2012.

I'm Alyssa! I have been signing for the last 18 years! I took sign language as my foreign language in high school! I attended the University of Arizona, I graduated with a BS in Deaf Studies and Educational interpreting. I have been teaching ASL for the last 10 years! The ages in the "classroom" range from 6 months to 85 years old! I have my own curriculum, however I enjoy tailoring my lessons to your personal life and personal experiences! My "classroom" is a fun learning environment with A LOT of signing and conversation! I look forward to signing with you soon!
Alyssa is the best! I've been with her for a year now and she makes learning ASL a blast. She is extremely relatable, easygoing, and helpful. Class sessions are never boring because she's very engaging and treats everyone like genuine friends. My ASL skills have improved a lot in a short span of time and I actively look forward to our weekly meetings!
I've been signing for almost 19 years. I have a Deaf son who is now an adult. Initially, I taught him and myself sign using library books. A few years ago, I went to college to study ASL, as well as Deaf culture. I actually know 2 different forms of sign language. Signing with me is FUN because it is my passion and is close to my heart as it's how I communicate with my son, his wife, and quite a few friends. Opening one's mind to ASL is akin to learning to SEE SOUND!
I've always liked sign language, after learning the alphabet as a child. I never really had a reason to learn it until I found out that my son was deaf. Initially I was concerned for him & any struggles he may go through because of it. That honestly dissipated quickly for me. I could now communicate with my kid! WooHoo! His very first signs were "cookie" & "crackers" because I had to bribe him to sign with me. His Deafness & our learning sign became our adventure! From brightly colored, tie-dyed hearing aid molds, to me teaching the neighborhood kids how to sign so that they could easily play together. Then discrimination from his school district set in. Momma bear came out.
I found an attorney willing to take the case pro bono, I got my son a Deaf advocate through a local community service, and called our local newspaper & shared the
story with them. Through that newspaper article, more parents came forward & reached out to me for help. That was the moment I realized my purpose in life; be it teaching sign, advocacy, sharing the rich culture that comes with it all.....This was & is my purpose. On an ironic little side note, I actually used to be semi-professional singer/ songwriter. Now, from time to time, I do enjoy Interpreting songs into ASL. I'm passionate, fun, funny but I can be pretty bad with the corny jokes. If you & I ever work together with sign Language, just be prepared for a wonderful adventure, but still within the safe confines of modern society.
"My daughter is 6 and has been interested in taking sign language class for a while. After her trial session she was very excited to learn. The 1st lesson
was good. My daughter wasn’t as focused initially, however, Victoria was patient and was able to get her back on task easily. We can’t wait for the next class!"
"Kat was nice and very patient instructor."
"Kat has proven to be such a valuable and wonderful teacher. From the beginning of our process of starting ASL lessons for my daughter, she was communicati
ve, thorough and 100% professional. Once our lessons began, she proved to be an incredible instructor (my daughter loves her lessons) as well as conscientious in our lesson schedule. Further, even when we need to change our lesson due to a scheduling conflict, she is very understanding, which I have appreciated. I can not recommend Kat enough!!!"
