I have been communicating using American Sign Language for over 15 years. I have a bachelor's degree in American Sign Language interpreting. I have been an interpreter for 11 years and I am nationally certified through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. All ages welcome. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be signing in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of grammar, vocabulary, Deaf Culture, and more. Let's get started!

About Tanya H.

I have been a professional American Sign Language interpreter for over 12 years. I graduated from MacMurray College with a Bachelors of American Sign Language Interpreting and from Walden University with both a Master's degree in both Business Administration and Education.

American Sign Language students can expect to gain the foundational skills for conversation. Students will also learn the history and culture surrounding the Deaf Community.

I teach students of all ages and experience levels. I can teach American Sign Language students the grammar and vocabulary necessary for communicating in American Sign Language.

As a nationally certified ASL interpreter, I am on the state registry of supreme court interpreters, and have worked as the Director of a Community Center for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing. I have taught ASL privately for over 12 years and professionally for over 6 years.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you to reach your goals.

WOW!!!! Tanya keeps blowing me away with her knowledge and skill. She prepared structured lessons based on my needs, but is also flexible and patient. I gave her a list of my most challenging questions and requests for resources. She provided responses and resources that absolutely blew me away. Tanya never mentioned that she did the research on her own time. What a class act!!!

I just completed my 3rd 30 minute session with Tanya. I started out taking 5 sessions with a much cheaper instructor, which resulted in a much cheaper learning experience. It was very stressful for me to sign up for 5 classes with Tanya that I thought I couldn't afford, but to be honest, I ended each of the first three classes saying to myself, "That was worth the money!" The quality of Tanya's video is excellent. She tailors the session to my individual needs. There is no rigid program to follow. It is clear that Tanya is very knowledgeable and experienced with both signing ASL and with teaching ASL. She is teaching me things I would never have learned on the internet. I have signed up for 10 additional 30 minute sessions with Tanya (15 in total so far). It turns out it was never a matter of what I could afford. It was only a matter of what I choose to prioritize.
