I have been a professional American Sign Language interpreter for over 11 years. I graduated from MacMurray College with a Bachelors of ASL Interpreting and from Walden University with both a Master's degree in both Business Administration and Education.
I have also been playing the flute for over 22 years.
American Sign Language students can expect to gain the foundational skills for conversation. Students will also learn the history and culture surrounding the Deaf Community.
Flute students can expect to improve week to week in their technique. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.
I teach students of all different ages and experience levels. I can teach American Sign Language students the grammar and vocabulary necessary for communicating in American Sign Language. I can teach flute students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.
As a nationally certified ASL interpreter, I am on the state registry of supreme court interpreters and have worked as the Director of a Community Center for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing. I have taught ASL privately for 20 years and professionally for 5 years.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you to reach your goals.
I teach Deaf Studies 101
I have taught community ASL classes for 5 years and ASL as a world language at a local high school for 4 years.
