Sign Language is an awesome form of visual communication! I love ASL and the deaf culture. I have years of experience and I'd be delighted to teach you. All ages welcome. Lessons are customized and catered to your needs and goals. Not only will you be signing like a pro in no time, but you will be able to communicate with the deaf and hard of hearing communities. Let's get started!

About Chaneé
Hey There! I'm Chaneé. I am an American Sign Language tutor and professional Actress. Over the years I have taught ASL to many actors for specific roles and just great students who wanted to learn to communicate with the deaf. If you have friends or family that is deaf or dealing with hearing loss learning ASL is a great way to communicate and build stronger relationships. Maybe you want to become an interpreter or just learn a song for a church service or a role in a movie. Many parents use sign language or baby sign to communicate with their children. No matter the reason, I'm here to give
you all the ASL you want to learn at your pace.

I studied ASL and Deaf Culture at Philadelphia College and the Philadelphia School of the Deaf while attending the University of the Arts for Theater Arts. On top of my overachieving college studies.. I also have many deaf friends. I use ASL in my daily life and I'm always thrilled to share the culture and language with others. I am a very friendly person so expect a good time during your lesson. I can't wait to meet you!

About Tony
Thank you so much for checking out my profile! My name is Tony and I've been teaching formal and private lessons since 1996 and have loved helping my students learn American Sign Language while developing confidence in their skills. I went to Harding University and was trained and tutored by a Master ASL Instructor (CODA) as well as the Deaf community.

My former students have gone on to become Interpreters for the Deaf, Deaf Education Teachers, ASL Teachers, and leaders in Deaf ministry. In fact, I now teach with one of my former ASL students!

I'm a patient and fun person and my teach
ing style is highly interactive. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

Please keep in mind that it is very important to practice in between sessions and complete all the suggested activities to help you accomplish your goals faster. ASL is a VISUAL language and does not follow English grammar rules. ASL has its own grammar and syntax. In fact 50% of the language is comprised of nonmanual behaviors.

My favorite thing about teaching is getting to know my students. Every once in a while I will have a student that wants to be mentored beyond ASL skills and wants further mentoring in learning how to be the best they can be.

I enjoy teaching the Bible class for the Deaf at church as well as being involved in the Deaf community in this area. The Deaf community is a wonderful, vibrant, and very close knit group of people.

Thanks again for reading my bio. I hope to meet you soon!

Being born to deaf parents, my first language is American Sign Language. I am a CODA (child of deaf adult). My primary language is English and an expert ASL signer. By nature, Im apart of the Deaf/HH community and look to grow in advocating. I would like to reach hearing parents with deaf children or even hearing children with deaf parents by helping them advance in using their sign language skills proficiently.
I’m also interested in working with students whom are interested in ASL as a second language or even a hobby. Taking ASL in high school and need tutoring? I can assist in learning the visual and gestural communication of the signing.

About Amber
Do you want to expand your signing skills from a CODA (Child Of Deaf Adult) and educator? ASL being my first language and English a second language, I’ve signed to my mother, father, brothers and others in the deaf community by nature. I’m currently learning to sign music in ASL which has been a great experience. As a lifelong learner, I hope to inspire and share this experience with you!

I was interested in learning to sign from the time I was a little girl. American Sign Language and the Deaf culture have always been fascinating to me. When it was time to choose a college and career, I sought a way to use ASL in my daily life. I became a Teacher for the Deaf, and I continue to have a passion for both the language and the culture. I want to share that passion with you!

I have been a Teacher for the Deaf for 5 years. I work daily with students who use ASL as their main form of communication. In addition to meeting their individual needs, I create goals and implement direct lessons to help them learn and improve ASL.

I learned American Sign Language in a formal college setting. I learned ASL from both Deaf and hearing instructors. I met several times weekly with my professors in the classroom setting and participated in "immersion" hours throughout my college career. Now, I use it daily to communicate with my students and other professionals.

About Robyn
"Turtle." It was the first sign I learned as a kid, and it stuck with me. From that time forward, I wanted to learn American Sign Language. I didn't have the opportunity until I reached college, where I dove head first into the world of ASL and the Deaf community.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education with certifications in Deaf Education and Elementary Education. I have been a Teacher for the Deaf since graduating college in 2014.

I have a passion for the language and the culture. I want to share that passion with you!

We will start wherever you are and with whatever you want to
learn! If you're just starting out, we will start by learning the alphabet and numbers, along with some of the grammatical rules of American Sign Language. We will quickly develop a working vocabulary, and you'll be having silent conversations before you know it!

I am available to teach online and in person. Hope to see you soon!
