Acting is such a broad term! What are your goals? Do you want to be in films? Do you want to do Shakespeare? Do you want to be in a sit com? Depending upon what your interests are and where you want to go, we will build a plan together. My philosophy on acting techniques is that they are tools to help you, not tests you pass if you're a good actor and fail if you're a bad one. Different techniques work for different people and it is our job to find out what inspires you.

I've worked as a professional actor for many years, performed on Broadway, have my MFA in Performing Arts, and my BA in Arts and Education. I was an assistant director to Tony-winner Sharon Ott and have written and produced my own work. I have experience in both stage and camera acting, which have specific technical differences, but are both a lot of fun once you get used to the medium. Audition technique, preparing monologues, and creating promotional materials are also things I can help with. Anyone who wants to ...

About Rebecca

My approach is both supportive and pragmatic, based on where each individual's skill set is right now and what your specific goals are. I've had the benefit of both formal instruction as well as a decade in the "school of hard knocks." Climbing up the ladder to earn my Equity Card on a Production C

A-mazing! She’s an awesome mentor! Her approach to singing is brilliant in the sense that she helps you explore yourself, your strengths and areas you could work on to improve. She helps you find and utilize your voice in a way that makes a unique artist. She digs in right to the foundation of singing (vocals) and performing. I am glad to have found her! And to add up, I never had a dull moment with her with her sense of humor and caring approach!

As a professional actor on stage and screen, I can help you prepare for auditions. We will go over sides or monologues. I'm currently recurring on New Amsterdam on NBC and was a guest star on NCIS: New Orleans. I also write, produce and direct films, my IMDB is under Rachel Alana Handler.

She was absolutely fantastic with my 5 year old daughters first lesson. She had her smiling the whole time.....we are coming back next week for sure.

My first vocal teacher and the best!

Ms. Rachel was an amazing vocal teacher! We would always start off with simple and fun warm-ups, breathing techniques, and would practice singing songs from musicals. My first couple lessons she taught me how to sing I Feel Pretty from West Side Story and we both had so much fun with it! After a little while we learned Cups from Pitch Perfect and then we got into the Vaccai book and I learned a couple songs from there. Overall Ms. Rachel was the best! She even offered to Skype a lesson with me since she moved. She cared about me and always helped me improve my voice in every way she could. I love her!

I provide a very custom approach to the individual. I first learn about them as an actor. Have they any training? Do they need help with projecting? Do they need help with speaking lower? Do they need help interpreting scripts? I will use my mini interview on our first lesson to decide what we need to work on and then provide them with the appropriate monologue or scene to prepare for our next lesson. I will then help them truly find themselves in the character using different acting methods I’ve learned. I will give them constructive feedback on their performance and have them practice it at home before their next lesson. Aside from the structure of my lessons, I’m really bubbly and friendly and I think I will make actors feel they are in a safe space to truly express themselves!

"Chrystie is an amazing instructor! She is very enthusiastic, encouraging, and worked with my daughter's energy level. She used music appropriate to my daughter, and built up a routine over several weeks so my daughter could learn the parts. She made effective and efficient use of every minute of every lesson and appropriately pushed my daughter to learn, even though it was her first time taking tap lessons. I highly and ecstatically recommend Chrystie really to anyone because I am sure that fun, bubbly, energetic personality, combined with a high skill level, and excellent instructional strategies, can really help any student. Thank you again Christie!"

"I booked 4 acting sessions with Ms. Ollie for my daughter. Ms. Ollie did a phenomenal job starting from scratch, coaching my daughter for her up coming audition. My daughter had no acting experience, she was shy, and soft spoken but in just 4 short days, Ms. Ollie turned her into a confident, outspoken young actress. My daughter nailed her audition thanks to Ollie!! I will highly recommend her as your acting coach."
