I am a native speaker of English, and I enjoy helping others perfect their listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. Whether English is my student's first, second, or third language, I tailor my approach to help students of any age succeed.
My strengths include working with students to visualize and achieve their goals, discovering areas for improvement, and, most importantly, getting results. My students have gone from zero knowledge in architecture and design software to full literacy. My students have increased English and math scores both in the classroom and on exams. Finally, with my coaching, students have written college application essays that earned them a place at prestigious institutions such as Columbia, Cornell, and Harvard, among others.

I find it truly exciting to tutor English. English is more than literature. English is a language, rich in history and tradition, form and flexibility, culture and creativity.
I look forward to taking on the responsibility of writing quality curricula, creating engaging environments, and most importantly, exploring the complexity of learning alongside another.
I've taught German to undergraduates, Spanish to teens, and Italian to friends. But my most rewarding teaching experience was teaching English to highschool students in Austria. Thus I bring that same fervor to tutoring English here, promising lessons that are both fun and functional.
However, I am passionate and professional about teaching. From an early age, I wanted to inspire others to do their best. Thus I have coached, I have tutored, I have counselled, I have taught. And I love every second that I spend alongside a student.
Teaching allows me to be both creative and organized, to simultaneously work hard and have fun. Yet what I find best about teaching, is that offers me venues to learn from my students.
I have taught all ages (3-80); I have taught in 4 different languages; I have taught on ski slopes, in barnyards, on sailboats, in classrooms, and on playgrounds. And these diverse hands-on experiences, paired with a degree in teaching from Bowdoin College and a Fulbright Fellowship, have prepared me for meeting you, for teaching you,
I am around until Fall 2018, as at this time, I will begin my PhD candidacy in Second Language Acquisition and Pedagogy.
