I have recently returned from a week long stay at the Sonatina Piano Camp in Bennington VT and would like to notify all those piano students who may read this review as to the wonderful experience attending this camp can be. The camp takes adult piano students at all piano skill levels from beginner to well accomplished. Students stay in shared rooms (2-4 persons) which includes a piano in every room. Attendance is usually 18- 27 persons. The mansion itself is home to approx. 30 pianos. All meals are provided (and are outstanding) as well as piano classes and 4 lessons with concert pianists or university piano professors. Ample time is provided to practice a performance piece for the end of week performance night. Master classes are given on several evenings for those wishing to perform a work in progress piece for the attendees and the camp owner providing a public lesson.
I have found that the attending student group to be extremely supportive to all other students especially to those experiencing performance anxiety. Repeating attendees (from all over the country) have formed lasting friendships among themselves which have endured for years. Eight week long sessions are given throughout the year. In addition there are summer sessions for school aged youth
and also 4 short week sessions for those wishing to try a sampling of the camp. This past January was my 3rd year attending the camp and I will be returning again next year. My experiences at the camp have been truly unforgettable. More information can be obtained at Sonatina.com

Kathy has worked wonders with my piano lessons. In about a year and half of lessons Kathy has added scales and exercises along with musical selections designed to enhance specific skills, plus has worked with me on select piano works which I find interesting and challenging. My abilities and quality of playing been steadily improving. She is always positive and uplifting yet she still can point out areas of playing quality which require work. She gears lessons and advancement of difficulty to my specific rate of improvement. I couldn't ask for better and and am looking forward to continued progress over time for my improved musicianship.

Hello! Thanks for visiting my Takelessons profile. Let me start off by telling you a bit about myself: I have been performing for over 25 years as a musician, acting since I was a small boy, and working consistently with public speaking, accent reduction and other presentational skills throughout my career. I started my musical education as a woodwind player and settled in to the wonderful world of singing over time. Music has opened me up to so many incredible opportunities from touring the world to performing in marvelous concert halls and working with some of today's most respected artists, as well as giving me the opportunity to expand my performance skills through acting in various plays, musicals, television, and film.
Performing has absolutely b
een my salvation! Throughout my life it has been a best friend and constant source of joy, and I share this gift with others so that it might help them to find the same joy. After more than 10 years of teaching, I have so many new experiences to draw from and share with my students. I spent nearly 10 years performing with Disney in California and abroad in their Tokyo Disney cast, and I must say that those experiences, vast and varied as they are, have given the word "performance" a depth that I couldn't have imagined. Those experiences have made me excited to dive into every lesson with fresh ideas that will mesh well with many tried and tested teaching techniques.
Originally from Los Angeles, I now reside in Orange County and I'm proud to have expanded my studio to serving clients all over the world with online lessons via Skype and FaceTime! I get such joy from sharing my experiences with a diverse group of people from so many walks of life. If you're interested in learning more about my lesson style, feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to talk with you about a plan to help you reach your goals!
For Students of Voice: Teaching Style
Over the past several years I have focused much of my personal growth on developing my ears' ability to pick out and pinpoint vocal “placement”, resonance, subtleties of timbre, changes in pitch, breath support, air speed and flow, pronunciation and diction, and in general, the way in which all of these work together to create style. From these assessments, I work with the student’s particular needs to address each area individually and based on the learning style of each person. To illustrate to the student their method as I see and hear it, as well as ways in which they might make changes to facilitate the ease of singing --be they changes of tessitura (range), length of phrase, tone color, the release of unnecessary tension etc.-- I make use of vocalise (vocal exercises), simile and metaphor, examples from recorded performances, demonstration, self assessment, and techniques to “trick” the voice into acting in a different way, in addition to videos, diagrams, and texts on anatomy and physiology. I feel that all of these tools provide a unique and personalized learning experience for each student.

Hi, my name is Maryna! . I'm from Crimea. I've been living in the USA for over 10 years, which helped me develop a near-native proficiency in English. This is very helpful when it comes to grammar explanations and helping my students understand the subtleties of meaning. . I'm a full-time educator. I learn about latest language-learning tools and methodologies on a daily basis. I have a degree in teaching foreign languages, and I started teaching over a decade ago. I have taught intensive professional courses and I have developed textbooks. . I specialize in adult learners of Russian and English, as well as my 5 year-old son, who is learning both:) I study several foreign languages myself, so I have endless empathy for my students' efforts and successes. . I will taylor our classes to your needs and interests. You can sign
up for 30-, 45-, 60-, and 90-minute lessons. . 30-minute sessions are a new option. Here is why I added this option: - They could be done in the chitchat format to maintaint and improve your conversational skills. - They could be conducted in a Q&A format, if you need specific questions answered. - They are essencial if you need help with a self-study plan and periodical feedback on your self-study progress. . Please, feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. I'm looking forward to working with you! . Maryna

Maryna is an outstanding and talented professional, with an extraordinary ability for teaching and communicating with her pupils. She owns a vast culture -apart from being a consummated polyglot -which allows her to talk and explain all kind of subjects and to be easily understood by her pupils. I have been studying Russian with her, and I must admit that my level improved significantly since I met her. I highly recommend her to all those who wish to learn or improve their English or Russian. You will not regret it!

I have had numerous skype video Russian lessons from Maryna she tries to teach people a language the way they might naturally learn one as a native speaker , via conversation intersperesed with discussion of grammar rules when appropriate. I Also like her WhatsApp group which combines native Russian speakers learning English with English ( an interesting variety including native and. Non-native speakers from various spots on the globe) speakers learning Russian so that all can learn from each other. Maryna has a lot of experience learning various languages and teaching and this knowledge of the language learning process manifests itself in her teaching style.
I bring many years of experience in not only teaching a foreign language, but also being a student of several ones. I know how it feels to be learning a new code of communication, I try to make learning as enjoyable as possible and accessible to most.
I am a College educated native Spanish and English speaker who has been teaching and tutoring Spanish for about 7 years. My goal is to make learning Spanish enjoyable, and I want to help the students feel confident expressing their thoughts and ideas in this foreign language.
My approach is student centered, incorporating grammar, verbal comprehension and vocabulary acquisition . I try to lay down a strong foundation that will help the student succeed on every level and eventually attain fluency. I'm often approached by people who tell me that they took Spanish in H.S. or College and are frustrated because they can't understand a native speaker or communicate with them. Most likely they learned the theory of the language but had little opportunity to put it into practice. That is why conversation is such a key component of my teach
ing. No one can learn any language without developing verbal and listening comprehension skills. With me the student can choose their favorite topic and perfect their conversation skills in an environment where it's ok to make mistakes.
I understand the difficulties of learning a foreign language, and I'm very patient with my students. I carefully guide them from point A to point B, step by step. With this approach, I help them to discover how learning Spanish can be truly rewarding ! I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your goals.
Good teacher. She is helping me to improve my pronunciation.

I am 48 years old who like the Spanish language and have been trying for a few years to learn it on my own. I have tried Duolingo, bought books, and watched Youtube Videos but I was still struggling to put a sentence together. I am taking lessons with Irene and I can see big progress. Irene tailors the sessions to my needs and toward my goal. She prepares the session, is on time and takes her time to make sure I am understanding the concepts. I really enjoy the class and look forward to it. Whatever is your goal, I recommend Irene.
The English Language is challenging yet rewarding I can help you write, read and talk like a native English speaker!
I teach gospel piano and beginner piano, flute, chess and English/ESL.
Use your ears, use your fingers and all the other gifts God gave you to assist during your local worship service. I come from a long line (4 generations) of church musicians. I trained classically on piano and flute - and can teach the basics for both instruments across genres. I have also been a journalist for The Associated Press (gotta have a day job!). And have done grant writing work for nonprofits. I can help you improve your English writing and speaking skills. And I love to play chess (gotta have a hobby!). But when it comes to Gospel - you need a little theory and a lot of heart and soul to develop your musical ear! Come join me at my storefront church or we can meet up online. After you get the scales and common chord structures down, you'll be ready
