Also known as voice-over. Any time you hear the voice, but do not see the face connected to it. The unseen announcer, animations, supplying the voice for another actor.

So much of communication on stage, or in TV or film is done with body language, facial expressions, movements, actions, and voice to tell the story. A voice-over artist has to do it all with just her voice.

The spoken word. Have you ever thought you would like to do read children's stories? Voice-overs? Read commercials? Read audio books? Speak publicly? Lose a bad speaking habit, change an accent or just refine your speaking voice?

Over the years I have produced hundreds of hours of spoken word recordings getting the very best performances out of many people. Let me know if you have a spoken word goal. Announcers and reporters for any broadcast media need to be very well-spoken, and also be familiar with studio etiquette. We can help.

Randy connected so well with my son and took extra time with him to explore his interests and hopes, as well as his elocution concerns. We are extremely pleased and HIGHLY recommend Randy.
Eric
My first lesson with Randy went very well! He gave some clear objectives and areas of focus where I can improve my speaking voice, and where we'll focus on future lessons, based on our first phone call alone. At the same time though he made it clear that at any time I want to work on something else, we can change gears and do that instead. I appreciate him setting clear goals and objectives, while being fluid and he gained my confidence as an instructor right away! We worked on a couple of concepts in the first lesson and he used a few different techniques and tools to make these easy to understand. I look forward to my future lessons with Randy and improving my speaking voice!

"My first spoken voice lesson was great! It was like getting a glimpse on a set of new and totally unknown tools that I could eventually find out how to use them for my expression. Though it was only a short lesson, it felt intense and concentrated and after the first excercises we did, I already felt that my throat had opened up a bit and that everything felt more clear and more connected. In a situation where I had to suddenly speak publicly right after the session, I remembered that I could reach a slightly deeper pitch after the excercises. It helped me relax my voice right in the situation. It's really great working with you, Karmyn! I'm looking forward to the next lesson."

"Mr. Andrew is kind, funny and engaging.

My son (6) always has the best time at lesson and wants to know immediately when he gets to go back.

Our son has a lot on his plate and watching him have something that's just his that he is happy to do and enjoys this has been such a bright spot for our whole family.

- and Mr. Andrew is in direct correlation to that.

I recommend Mr. Andrew to anyone who is looking for a teacher who is kind, funny, engaging, and wants to help you succeed and gives you opportunities to use the skills you have learned."

"Nicholas knows Shakespeare and classical work. He really works with the text and helps an actor really understand the emotions in the scene, through the text. I've gotten so much out of his teaching and so have many of my friends. If you have an audition or play coming up, he's the one to get you ready for it! My friend nailed his audition, got the gig, all through his work with Nicholas. I've learned so much as an actor from Nicholas."

"The first lesson of the ten-pack I bought (to start) went very well. Michael was knowledgeable and provided just the kind of feedback I wanted for my solo vocal performances (I was looking for instruction on *acting* in solo vocal performance), giving me immediately useful tips for improving my next performance. It's clear that Michael has a lot to offer me. I look forward to more in the coming lessons."

3 Drama Games for Learning Method Acting

Method acting requires you to fully embrace your transformation into your character. To create an authentic experience for your audience, you need to lose the speech inflections, facial expressions, and physical mannerisms that wouldn't make sense. For example, when an actor plays a depressed man, his cynical speech won't be convincing if he delivers it with perfect, confident posture. When Hollywood stars stay in character between takes, or improv comedians wear disguises to interact with un …
