My 14 yr old son and I really enjoyed our first ASL lesson with Ariel. This first lesson was critical for for my son who after 4 years of ASL lessons has been considering using his time for other areas of interest. I was really hoping this first lesson with Ariel would respark his enthusiasm. And, it did!!! Ariel was great about taking time to connect with us both, and build on common interests and teach ASL all at the same time. He was engaging, encouraging, and effective with his lessons. My son is excited for the next lesson! (Phew) Thank you Ariel!

How to Teach Deaf Children to Read

Hearing Loss According to the CDC, at least one in 1,000 babies are born with a hearing loss. Historically, a hearing loss could go overlooked in a baby for months and even years, but fortunately, at present approximately 98% of infants are screened for a hearing loss. Identifying a hearing loss in infants is critical, because the first three years of life are crucial for speech and language development and it’s important for all children to have linguistic input from birth.
