The GMAT is a very challenging exam, and most tutors won't know the proper way to approach each question type properly - especially the data sufficiency questions (which are unique to the GMAT). The GMAT is made more difficult by the fact that test takers are unable to return to questions once skipped on the exam.

Just hiring a math, verbal, or writing tutor won't be enough to get you through the exam. It is a graduate level exam for a reason. You need a tutor with the resources and insight to show you how to best tackle each question correctly.

Awesome tutor! Breaks down concepts to make it easily digestible and works with your schedule. He gives you great tips that you can't learn from a book. He is very laid back and that helps with the crazy chaos of MCAT studying. Overall, well rounded in the subjects of the MCAT and would work with him again in the future if I needed. Aalok Shah's in depth knowledge of admission testing, coupled with his easy demeanor, made all the difference for our son as he prepped for the college process. In addition to advising our son on the proper material to study, Aalok taught him to strategically tackle each section and manage his question answering time accordingly. I can't say enough about Aalok. His wealth of tutoring experience is certainly a major advantage, however his dedication and work ethic was what impressed us the most. After speaking to multiple tutoring companies, we discovered Matthew. Matthew was very professional and made my son feel comfortable. They had a total of 5 tutoring sessions covering Math, English, Science and Reading. My son took the ACT after his tutoring sessions and scored a 23. I've been teaching GMAT preparation for 3 years and my students have increased their GMAT scores over 70 points from their initial scores.

I create a personalized daily syllabus that caters to each student's individual strengths and weakness, and check in with my students daily to make sure that they are completing their homework assignments and have no questions.

My program is rigorous and demanding, but leads to significantly higher scores very quickly. I do not give my students a chance to slack off or to stop doing their homework assignments because students are required to enter when they have completed their homework assignments and their scores daily through a virtual tracking system that I have created.

I provide a book list including Kaplan books, though can work with whatever books students already have. I incorporate technology to keep students engaged.

Leona has been my life coach for several sessions now and I could not more highly recommend her. Depending on what information she is given beforehand, she will research the situation of the particular student (what career field they are considering for example) and bring what she has learned to the session. She then will listen intently to the student to find out what they want and what is most important to them. After that she will make excellent recommendations designed to maximize the chance that the student will succeed.
