About Matthew
Hello! I am registered Professional Ballroom Dancer with National Dance Council of America. Over my time as an instructor I have competed and taught all the styles of Ballroom dance and competed nationally on the professional level in American Rhythm.

I've been an active instructor for six and half years now and have seen so many students see their individual dance dreams flourish. Starting to take dance lessons can be tough and frustrating so I tailor make my lessons by learning about you and how best you learn. Whether that means explaining to you in physics terms, sports analogies or making sure you have a video to learn from once the lesson has concluded.

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, you will be in good hands. Competing and placing at the professional level has made me prepared for those of you at the advanced
level. If you desire to compete or create showcase, we will go over every aspect of choreography for you to achieve your goal. For those who are beginners, I built a Salsa program at my last studio and worked almost exclusively with beginner students and ushered them through their dance journeys wherever they went. I approach every lesson with patience and make sure every student understands each step and figure before moving on.

If you are a couple looking for wedding dance preparation, I can handle that as well. I sit down with my students prior to their lesson to understand what they are looking for so that they can achieve their dream dance. We will go over the venue, the dress, the shoes, the song, the style, the level difficulty wanted and from their the dance will begin it's journey. I have been choreographing wedding dances for many years and have never had a bad review.

My goals as an instructor are simple: help you achieve your desired dreams and have fun in the process. I look forward to meeting you and starting the dance journey with you!

Music is definitely the universal language, and there isn't a genre I don't love; it's important to me that that aspect be brought to lessons, as well! From humble New Jersey beginnings to an opera career, I've seen the power of what music can do!

Whether it's opera, musical theater, folk, rock, or just public speaking, anything YOU love to do, I would love to teach you! Having taught all ages and levels, from first graders to adults, from someone who's never sung a note in his or her life to semi-professionals, I cater my lessons to what YOU as a student need and are interested in.

Lessons shouldn't be a chore - I like to foster an environment you look forward to being a part of! I also think that music, like any sport, is hard work, and takes seriously practice; even hobbies take concentration and application! I understand and can
work with many schedules and work loads, but I expect my students to put at least half the effort into their lessons that I do!

Laura is a wonderful voice instructor! You can tell that she is very knowledgeable about music and voice overall. She makes my lessons very fun, but also informative at the same time. They are not just technical lessons about how to sing. Laura incorporates different teaching styles to accommodate her students' way of learning, and also works with you on the style of music you prefer. The only thing I hope for more of out of my lessons is to have more time singing, but I am a beginner and Laura makes sure you strengthen your foundations first in order to support your voice!

I have been literally to 4 youtube teachers and though I have nothing bad to say about any of them, i know that I need a long term teacher that I can see myself growing with as a singer. Our personalities just meshed. She knows how to make one feel comfortable. She is very encouraging to students with zero self confidence like me. I think I have found the teacher I’ve been looking for in Elena! i’m excited to see what she can do to transform my voice. Her resume as well as her reviews( students spoke highly of her character) are what stood out for me out of thousands of teachers online! It is also important that I love to listen to my teacher’s voice and i love her voice😊

Hi, I'm Tony Nominated Broadway Producer Stephanie Rosenberg, and I believe you deserve to have your dream. Whether you are starting out as a child actor or a professional here in NYC, you deserve to make it happen.

I look at my job as being a support system to give you the tools to help you get there. My teaching modalities come from Sandford Meisner, Stanislavski, and many of the other great teachers.

We look at your skill set to identify what is working for you. What should you keep, and celebrate. (Learning to act is a lot of work and it can be fun!). From there what needs to be adjusted becomes very apparent and we can start to tackle those elements one by one. We can also take the time to look at your career goals, and create a game plan to get there. This career is a journey.

The key is that you come out with skills you c
an rely on, repeat, and apply as you grow in your art form; as well create a performing confidence that will support you throughout your artistic journey.\

For private coaching in the NYC area, I teach out of many of the Professional Rehearsal Studios in NYC, such as: Shetler Studios; Ripley Grier; Simple Studios; Pearl, etc...Virtual coaching is also available.

Keomi has a lot of positive energy and is sensitive to the the skill levels of her students so she tailors her classes to give just enough challenge while building on students’ strengths and experiences.
Keomi gives a great cardio workout where you really sweat yet the class is so fun that you don’t notice how hard you are working!
You WILL learn many classic hip hop moves which Keo strings together to make a sexy/cool but accessible choreography. You come out of class feeling blissed - both for the vigorous workout and for accomplishing the dance moves! This is a great class for all levels.

Valerie is utterly fantastic. I’ve been with her, as a student, since the beginning of ALBS, and not only have I improved, but she has, and I have seen her firsthand build a small and _exceptional_ school. Her command of the material is masterful, and her growth in developing the school is a case study in how to do things right.

With grace, poise, compassion, understanding, and humor, Valerie is an inspiration.

Valerie has been a great teacher. She was my first teacher almost two years ago and has already had me perform in off-broadway productions of Giselle and The Nutcracker. Ballet has shown me a new world where dreams and life intertwine into beautiful forms.

Valerie was there for my first phone call, class, performance and more. She has always been great making classes available to even unshapely older bodies like mine. Valerie has taught me from the extreme basics to now the beginner. The classes are based around the ABT curriculum which allows me to learn standard ballet techniques.

My classes with Valerie have always been a great experience. Through challenges, tears, laughter, and growing Valerie is the best teacher I have ever known. I now get to take classes with many other teachers and amazing students but my heart remains as Valerie's student.

Valerie explores new choreography and twists on existing stories. She encourages growth at all levels of ballet. She even has allowed me to experience higher level company classes! Extremely challenging but again a great growth opportunity.

I highly recommend Valerie as a ballet instructor and choreographer for all level and age students or professionals.

Happy Balleting!
