I have 20-plus years of experience as an acting teacher and have helped many students succeed in their auditions. I have experience in both stage and film acting, as well as in musical theatre performance. My focus is on helping students achieve believable and compelling performances that directors will remember. I also know the ins and outs of the business and can help students learn the ropes of the business side of "THE BIZ."

About Jan

I taught acting and directing at the college level for 18+ years. I have also coached and directed students from ages 9-70. I am trained in stage, film, commercial and voiceover acting and have worked professionally in all of these arenas. I also have lots of knowledge about the industry ins and

Film scoring has been my ultimate passion since I was 9 years old. I have an MFA in film scoring from Columbia College Chicago. I am currently scoring a few films and teaching lessons on the side. I love teaching! I have many scenes to share with students for them to score. I would talk with students about the scene they're scoring, share tips and focus on style, technique, and emotional content of the scene. I have lots of technology experience, so I can help students learn how to actually turn the music in their heads into a physical recording. I specialize in Logic, ProTools ,and DigitalPerformer but can work with students in Garageband as well.

About Connor

I'm a film composer by trade, but I love teaching as well. I love sharing my passion for music with others. I have a BM from Appalachian State University in piano performance and music theory/composition. I also have an MFA in music composition for the screen from Columbia College Chicago. I st

Connor is an excellent teacher. I worked with her via Skype for over a year. I played accordion as a child and wanted to get back into it as an adult. She helped me build my confidence and my proficiency around playing the accordion. She went through a lesson book that I purchased on my own previously. She arranged music for me so I could play more contemporary songs that my 3yo daughter would recognize. She worked with my schedule. She has a lovely personality. She is very encouraging. She is amazingly talented in music. And I couldn't recommend a better teacher. I wish you all the best, Connor! Thank you for everything!

So, what is improv? Improvisation, or improv, is a form of live theatre in which the plot, characters and dialogue of a game, scene or story are made up in the moment. Often improvisers will take a suggestion from the audience, or or draw on some other source of inspiration to get started.

Improvisation, in my opinion, is one of the most important talents that an actor can acquire. I feel that it is essential in method acting and, as a theatre performer who understands that anything can happen on stage in front of a live audience, it is a tool of survival. Improv can also unlock our ability to be natural and, in turn, more believable.

Last but not least, an actor who has mastered the art of improv will be more confident and less nervous on stage.

About Tina

I started singing professionally at the age of fourteen. I have had leading roles in semi-professional theatre productions since I was seventeen. I have also been assistant director, musical director, choreographer, costumer and writer for many productions from West Side Story to My Fair Lady to

Shakespeare wrote some of the best roles for actors, and his work is just packed with tools you can use to get the juiciest possible performances. I can help you find and use those tools, whether you’re highly experienced or you’ve never acted before.

I learned the basics of acting through doing Shakespeare, and I’ve introduced many young performers to acting the same way. (FYI it’s totally normal if you hated reading it in school!)

About Erin

I am an actor, speech & dialect coach, and acting teacher. I had steady freelance teaching and coaching jobs for 3 years in NYC, as well as steady acting work in NYC and Chicago theatre for 5 years total. I moved to LA from Cambridge, MA, where I earned my Master's in Acting from the American Re

She is great, just great. 1st course yet she immediately helped me understand what were the real issues and how to tackle them. Now I feel confident to pass in front of an audience, because I know I will be heard and I will be understood!

I had to learn an Irish dialect for a big audition I was called in for last minute. My friend suggested Erin to help with dialect coaching and audition coaching, and man, I'm so grateful. With Erin's training and expertise, I was able to learn the Irish dialect in an hour and nailed the audition! She has experience with multiple acting and audition techniques...she's able to speak multiple acting "languages". If you're looking for any audition coaching or dialect coaching, I definitely recommend Erin! She knows what she's doing!

I have worked with Erin on several occasions, because she is so wonderful at her job! She has helped me to prepare for numerous auditions, many of which have gone very well as a result. She is an incredible actor herself, and she uses her talent and expertise to help me be the best actor I can be. Finding my super objective in a monologue or scene, the different tactics, focus, awareness, groundedness... these are all things she has helped me to do to strengthen my own work. She is down to earth and open, which makes working with her really easy and comfortable. Performing my work in front of somebody else can be very difficult, because I often question what the viewer will think of me. Not only does Erin help me fight that fear, she helps me find the gratitude and joy in getting to perform. I highly recommend Erin as an acting coach! She’s fantastic!

"Alexandra is excellent! She is a true professional with a real passion for teaching. I began seeing Alexandra for vocal lessons a few months ago and I have learned so much more then just the basics of speech.

She not only gave me a solid foundation to build upon, but also provided me with a deep understanding about how powerful and personal voice work really is. Together we have worked on both the inner and outer aspects of my voice. After only a short time, I have seen a huge improvement in my vocal projection, breathing, presence and confidence.

She has a wealth of knowledge which has continued to give me new insights every lesson. If it isn't obvious- I highly recommend Alexandra."

"David is a "one-of-a-kind" Acting Coach! I have been a professional in the industry for the last 10 years, and I attribute most of my success to David. David encouraged me to lean into my own interferences and self-consciousness in terms of acting, in order to get more comfortable with the unknown and my fears. I attribute David to my success because through this classes I was able to gain the rarest gift any acting teacher can give their student: confidence. I am a braver artist, a more present actor, and even a better person thanks to David's classes. Not only did David influence me as an actor/artist, I use his lessons every day when I teach my own Acting Classes in Chicago. I highly recommend him."
