About Tuesday
I have been singing and playing piano all of my life. I took my first music lesson I was just three years old I never looked back! After high school I earned my Bachelor of Music Performance and my Master of Music. I attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. It was in Louisiana where I began my teaching career, about fifteen years ago.

After returning to Michigan, I began teaching K-12 music in both public and private school settings. I currently maintain a private studio in addition to teaching voice part-time at two of local colleges.

*** Lesson Details ***
I emphasize a standard classical approach. I thrive on good, solid technique. This will enable students to master any type of music they wish to study.

Students begin with basic music theory. This
is essential for anyone taking a music lesson. Piano students are ages 5 and up.

Once a student has a good foundation, the sky is the limit. These principles can be applied to any genre of music; classical, sacred, pop, rock, the choice is yours! Every student is different and has different goals. We will work together to make sure that you can achieve them and excel!

About Laura
Music is definitely the universal language, and there isn't a genre I don't love; it's important to me that that aspect be brought to lessons, as well! From humble New Jersey beginnings to an opera career, I've seen the power of what music can do!

Whether it's opera, musical theater, folk, rock, or just public speaking, anything YOU love to do, I would love to teach you! Having taught all ages and levels, from first graders to adults, from someone who's never sung a note in his or her life to semi-professionals, I cater my lessons to what YOU as a student need and are interested in.

Lessons shouldn't be a chore - I like to foster an environment you look forward to being a part of! I also think that music, like any sport, is hard work, and takes seriously practice; even hobbies take concentration and application! I understand and can
work with many schedules and work loads, but I expect my students to put at least half the effort into their lessons that I do!

Laura is a wonderful voice instructor! You can tell that she is very knowledgeable about music and voice overall. She makes my lessons very fun, but also informative at the same time. They are not just technical lessons about how to sing. Laura incorporates different teaching styles to accommodate her students' way of learning, and also works with you on the style of music you prefer. The only thing I hope for more of out of my lessons is to have more time singing, but I am a beginner and Laura makes sure you strengthen your foundations first in order to support your voice!

Laura is absolutely fantastic! She will work with you on your singing voice from the ground up. As someone coming in with a bit of singing experience already, it is SO GREAT to revisit the basics, and to work with someone who is so invested in helping you find the healthiest version of your voice. I am looking forward to taking more lessons with her!

I love everything about teaching! I love music; it is my life. I sleep, breathe and dream music. I am a Columbia University Chicago graduate; I graduated with a degree in Music with a concentration in Classical Voice. I have performed in numerous operas and musicals, as well as, sung on Gospel Cruises all around the world. In my eyes, the student is the main focus so whatever issues, concerns or request the student may have I will treat them with priority. I am all about strengthening the natural born talent and making my students the best vocalist they can be. I'm here to serve the students and that is what I will do until they are confident in their gift...music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I take music very seriously but at the same time I like my lessons to be fun and a joyous experience. I am very patient and helpful with any strugg
les that may seem too hard to the student. I will start my students off with the basic vocal warm ups and then move on to material that they would like to cover and if so the student doesn't have material to cover, I will present them with material. Being a singer is not easy at all, so I will challenge my students by giving exercises that challenge them to sing for proficient. I will also bring in material that is brand new and ask the students questions about the piece. The student is in the lesson to learn everything about music, so any type of material that I feel will benefit them and help them move closer to their goal, I will definitely present to them. After 3 to 6 months students will be able to sing in the 3 minor keys and the major key. The student will also have knowledge and know how to sing at least 3 different modes. The singer will know how to read basic sheet music and perform it with solfege. The singer will also have 4 songs of my choice or their choice mastered and ready to perform in front of an audience. Lastly, the singer will have knowledge of proper breath control while performing, usage of a microphone, and intonation.

Keanon is a GREAT teacher/artist/musician/mentor

I've been working with Keanon for almost a year now. Aside from being an amazing vocalist himself, he does everything he can to help students reach their full potential and find their voice. He makes lessons fun while constantly keeping you challenged. There's always encouragement from him to strive to be better, which can really bring the best out of singers. Whether you're simply singing for hobby, performing for shows/auditions, or ready to record, Keanon has something to offer to any aspiring musician. He has a passion and love for music and understands it's a gift that must be shared with the world.

About Danielle
Hello Students / Parents!

I specialize in providing a fun, inspiring and safe space for each student to reach their goals - whether that be for the novice singer whose been wrongfully told they shouldn't sing, the more experienced singer looking to do more with their music, or the budding songwriter, actor or speaker looking to develop the talent and drive they feel within them.

I always remember the inspiration and patience I received from my best teachers, so I strive to provide exactly that to my own students. I sing and teach most vocal styles, with the exception of opera and screamo, and utilize my studio to create a supportive, empowering experience singing, speaking, writing and recording. I absolutely love teaching both children and adults and look forward to learning how to best support each one of my students in their indi
vidual path toward realizing their potential.

Here's a bit about my background and musical experience:

Bachelors of Fine Arts degree (Theatre/Voice) from United States International University Graduated Valedictorian
Chula Vista School of Creative and Performing Arts Graduated Valedictorian
Workshops and studying with Bill Doyle, Roy Mote, Andrew Barnicle, Jack Tygett, Leanne Summers, among others.

"After seeing Danielle, I was impressed with her intensity as a performer. Her ability to get behind a lyric was stunning, she lives every line. As an artistic performer, I've yet to see better."
-Tony Ferguson / Interscope Records: No Doubt, Bush, Fisher

My original band, Danielle and The Masses, has been recording and performing live since 2001. We are endorsed by Ani Difranco, The Black Eyed Peas, The Bruce Hornsby Band, and have shared the stage with artists as Jamie Foxx, CAKE, Metric, En Vogue, David Byrne, Berlin, Margaret Cho, Cyndi Lauper, Jonatha Brooke, Beth Hart, Semi Precious Weapons and more.

I have written and performed music and voice over for Ace Ventura, Nutty Professor, VH1, various TV shows and independent documentaries, Eveoke Dance Theatre, among others, as well as having recorded eight professional CDs of various styles on various record labels.

For over ten years, my record / production company, Say It Records has been producing socially conscious music events throughout San Diego and Southern California that promote independent music, film, art, community and human rights. I also co-own Durga Sound, a teaching and production studio, with producer Alicia Champion, as well as San Diego IndieFest, a powerful community event which promotes and supports music, film, art and civic engagement.

I have a great time utilizing my contacts in the industry to help my students get work/ press / entrance into the schools of their choice, etc. For example, I'm happy to report that just last year we were able to book eight musicians on GLEE, as well as lots more in other capacities including using their music in commercials and film and helping them get cast in local theatre and accepted into arts-centered schools.

*** Lesson Details ***
I start on the first lesson by becoming clear about what the new student's goals and desires are from there, we start developing technique to achieve those goals along with having fun right away doing what they came for - singing, writing, voice over, acting or using a combination of these things be it for professional purposes or personal fulfillment. Every lesson is personally customized to meet the specific goals of each student. As a teacher, I'm encouraging and fun, passionate and positive. While I'm definitely not "strict", I do appreciate focus and drive. However, I often work with people who have special needs and are working on developing those very things. I'm especially good at helping people through progress plateaus, roadblocks, stage fright, loss/ stress. Using music as a means of release and healing - for both kids and adults - is something I do a lot of and am very comfortable with.

As far as technique is concerned, I focus on utilizing posture, correct breathing and developing relaxed, strong support, so that the muscles are developed properly. We want the voice to develop without stress, enabling the student to constantly grow while steering clear of any injury that can happen as a result of straining, not to mention other habits that manifest when we sing without proper technique.

I strongly encourage students to record their lessons on a mobile device so they can practice easily on their own, and so they eventually have a record of how far they've grown.
We mostly use tracks to develop repertoire, prepare for auditioning and performances, and to have fun singing the music that excites each student the most.

*** Specialties ***
Using music, writing and voice as a means of expressing yourself, growing as a performance artist, coping in challenging times, as well as a means of going professional and earning income are all areas I specialize in. Utilizing proper technique and learning how to sing / speak safely is also an area I focus on a great deal.

Learning precisely what each student wants is the key factor in my decision on how to achieve their goals. For example, using Speech Level Singing is definitely entrenched in my teaching, but I may not highlight it as much for those who want a more classical sound.

I excel with the following: first timers, very young kids, students working through stage fright, artists looking to develop their own original project, those seeking growth in their process of writing / recording / performing, those who are interested in using music and / or writing as therapy as well as with amateurs who've always wanted to do something musical but who think they are "too old" or too "untalented/short/tall/ fill in the blank" to try. I believe we all have something to say with our lives - finding the voice within you can be an incredibly powerful and transformative experience!

I can't imagine a singing instructor better than Danielle LoPresti. All my life I was too inhibited to sing in front of anyone. I decided to see Danielle and fell in love with her as soon as I met her. She is so warm, wise, kind, and talented. We connected immediately, and her observations, instruction, and encouragement gave me the confidence to make my singing debut at my 60th birthday party. I highly recommend Danielle to everyone, whether they can sing a note or not. You will find your singing voice with Danielle. Don't hesitate - make an appointment - you will be glad you did!

I want my students to enjoy the arts but the music and acting is hard work. My students will be well rounded in their subjects and have
the opportunity to cross over if they would like.
I pay attention to my students needs and wants. I would like students to be open minded about the work that they are being taught but I also want to take their interests to heart. If a student brings me music or a monologue that they would like to work on, I will review it and try to incorporate it within our studies.

I am a professional singer and actress with opera and musical theater credits. Singing is my passion! I love to sing, and I LOVE to teach others to sing! The human voice is the most natural instrument of all, and helping others to bring out the beauty of the natural instrument that lies within them is something to which I am very devoted. I like to make students feel comfortable and at ease in lessons, and you will find that I am very warm and friendly!

Every student is unique, with their own strengths, their own areas for improvement, and their own preference for certain styles of singing. I can help you find what style makes your heart sing!

I have a broad range of credits, including the Broadway National Tour of Fiddler On The Roof with Theodore Bikel (Tzeitel understudy), and Off-Broadway in Fiorello (Marie) and The Rose Ta

Mia is an absolutely outstanding teacher. I came in for my first lesson horrified to sing, not knowing anything about performing. And in just a few months of learning with Mia I was cast in my first show. Fast forward a few more months and I have been accepted to the college of my choice in their Musical Theater program. In just a year she has helped me achieve my goals that seemed so out of this world to me in the beginning but now are a reality. She is not only amazing at the technical stuff, but she is so genuinely invested in helping you be the best that you can be. She changed my life and I'm so grateful to her.

I graduated with a BFA in dance from The Ohio State University, one of the top 5 modern dance departments in the country. I took my first dance class at two years old and have been dancing ever since. I've been a professional dancer for over 20 years and I am trained in modern, contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, West African, tap, lyrical, burlesque and ballet. I am a dancer who believes that dancing is about more than just technique. You have to have technique but you also have to have stage presence and dynamic performance. That is what I am known for. I encourage my students to dance beyond technique and find your own individual expression as a dancer.

I have danced for many well known musical artists, commercials, films and award shows. I have a unique gift to be able to make a dancer out of anyone. I can see your movement quali
ty and style and help you reach your full potential. I teach in a fun and easy to understand way that gives you a balance of technique and stage performance. You will leave every rehearsal feeling confident and looking forward to the next one. I am also a professional actor on TV and Film and have toured the country in theatre shows. My acting helps me to bring a performance element to dance and I am able to communicate instruction and technique for easy understanding. I teach all levels and customize each lesson so that you are always challenged in a fun way. I currently teach at a dance academy that prepares and sends students off to the professional world so I am consistently in the world of dance every week and bring a freshness to our rehearsals. As a dancer I believe we never stop learning and growing.

I want to teach and work with dancers who are excited and passionate and ready to have some fun. You will see your technique improve, discover more of what you thought you could do and have a great time doing it all. With my versatility as a dancer/choreographer and actor you will discover dance in a new way. I really look forward to meeting you.
