About Kimberly
Hello! My name is Kimberly and I teach:
-Beginner to Intermediate Guitar
-Beginner to Intermediate Piano
-Beginner through Advanced Vocals

As a participant in All State choir in high school, the only female in the U-46 district to make District 9 state Jazz choir, and the recipient of over 20 awards for singing, I'm at a place where I can use my experiences to help you start your journey!
I've been singing and playing my instruments for all of my life. My talents have taken me across the United States and back, even singing the National Anthem on Fox for the World's Strongest Man com
petition.
Having a passion for music, I picked up piano and guitar at a young age and studied both for years, finding new ways of combining the two with voice and also being able to play them separately or simply use them for songwriting.
Whether you're interested in playing piano, guitar, singing, or doing a combination, we will find your music genre where your passion lies and take it to new levels. I can coach you on your stage performance or even help prepare you for choral/band concerts in school.
For my adult students I can help take your gift to new levels, making it easier for you to perform with confidence and do what you've always wanted to do musically.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are customized to the student's age, instrument, and level of interest. I combine early education practices with activities that go beyond just trial and error on instruments and give student's a chance to turn lessons into a fun game. With my methods students also develop a level of confidence that enables them to begin performing for friends and family. I have seen many young vocalists into elite choral groups through their schools and cities. One of my specialties is preparing students for auditions and 9/10 times they make it into the group they were auditioning for or won the solo in their group!

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in working with kids. My combination of fun activities combined with an early education approach to teaching result in students who really enjoy the lessons and truly learn something at an age when it's so crucial to introduce the arts.

I have a Masters degree in Theatre History and Criticism (Theatrical Critical Theory). I have teaching experience and have been exposed to many different types of teaching styles and locales, (i.e. classroom, studio).I have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts with a focus on acting, Academia.com holds some of my work and I can certainly offer more.
I have always been an actor first, simultaneously I have believed that teacher's are born not bred. At the risk of tooting my own horn; I am both, an actor and a teacher with more than a few credentials to support those facts. Peace and Kind Regard

Kay is the kindest and best voice teacher I have ever had! Not only does she train you in proven and highly skilled breathing techniques, but she also improves the quality, tone & stamina of your voice. It's life-changing! Her techniques really work! And she truly cares about each one of her students, young or old. If you're skilled & looking for a new voice teacher or just to try lessons for the first time, I whole-heartedly recommend Kay!

I took lessons with Maji for over a year and I was amazed at how much progress I was able to make. Her instruction helped me go from being barely able to do the basic step for On 2 to working on my double turn. She offers a calm, low pressure teaching environment which helped me excel. I highly recommend her as an instructor whether you are a beginner like me or an experienced dancer!!

My first vocal instructor was Jacob, who was absolutely phenomenal! I knew nothing of any breathing or placement techniques and to this day, I continue to use the techniques he taught! He was flexible with my schedule and came to my house and school in order to teach me. Because of the time that he spent teaching me and with patience, and correcting me when I did something incorrectly. I continued on to be a Solo & Ensemble State Gold Medalist, and a vocalist for several groups in Wisconsin. Jacob is an extraordinary teacher with a passion to help people unlock their potential as a performing artist who I would highly recommend!

I came to Jacob needing someplace to let acting back into my life, and I found exactly what I was asking for. Having taken university theatre, music theatre, and acting classes before, I can attest that Jacob brings professional, industry-seasoned expertise to his classes, along with genuine passion for his craft and his students. Jacob had the skill and the heart necessary to rekindle my faith in my abilities, and will likewise prove to be an excellent teacher for acting veterans and newcomers alike. His flexible approach, easygoing atmosphere, and industry know-how will undoubtedly achieve results for committed students.
