I combine knowledge from these studies and my own vocal exploration to re-build my voice in exercises that I share with students of voice.

LIFE SKILLS: No matter the subject, my focus is also teach skills that can be extrapolated into any area of your life. Life Skills focuses on eradicating negative self-talk and expanding communication skills that help develop confidence, enhancing daily life.

Between performing and my own artistic studies, I have been taking the occasional private voice student since 1997, mostly via referrals from friends and other students. While living in California, one of my voice teachers requested me as her regular substitute at Culver City and Santa Monica Music Schools from 2008-2012, which I felt deeply honored. She said she trusted me with their voices, which encouraged me into full-time voice teaching practice. In June 2012, I returned to Minneapolis and began teaching in my home studio through music services like Take Lessons. Past projects include producing a vocal showcase at The Ritz Theater, musical direction & choreography for a school's 2016 production of the Wizard of Oz; assisting students to prepare for local & national auditions like La Banda, The Voice & American Idol; prepping singers for studio recordings and congratulating a new student who's stepped out of the chorus to land her first lead role!

I am forever grateful to all of my teachers, past and present, for their valuable gifts of knowledge, skill, grace and compassion.

Mutual 24-hour advance notice agreement states both parties will respect the difficulty of planning schedules by providing 24-hour notice to change a reserved lesson time.

I found that in my vocal lessons, I was using physical exercises as for the actor, to incorporate in my private teaching method. I believe in doing, not only watching and observing. This, in conjunction with movement and full-body execution, opens the student vocally and emotionally. I chose to go to LAMDA because the classical training and approach to theatre training in England is extremely physical. They work from the outside in, and I find that the language of the body is universal to students of any intellectual capacity, and I strive to bring this into my approach in any type of teaching format!

I teach voice lessons to adults and young students who are beginning their vocal training practice, as well as those who are accomplished singers and performers and want to take their singing and performance to the next level! I use my skills as an accomplished vocalist and teacher to empower my students to find their own voice and learn to express a story through song. I enable my students to hone their craft and find their own style of expression through the exploration of music in a multitude of genres and cultures.

*** Teaching Methods ***
I foster a safe, relaxed and engaging environment to explore truthful human behavior on stage.

The objective is 'the truth' to which end there is no one technique. Actors are encouraged to find their own tools and to draw from elements of different practices to discover a technique that works best for them as individuals.

I studied the methods of Constantin Stanislavski for acting with Sergei Pomerov of the Moscow Circus Theater. I am classically trained as well.

I work primarily as a guide to help navigate the way and to interpret ‘the signs.' I teach the lesson in the moment and address the challenges of both the beginner and the experienced actor.

***Classical Work***
My basic approach to classical work focuses primarily on the connection of the breath with the feeling on the word.

This is the foundation on which you can then build. From the ‘words’ to the ‘thoughts’ to entire ‘passages’ of text, as you work and explore, the richness of the playwright’s words comes to life. Your own unique emotional life is allowed to come through the text and you are able to fully embody the role.

I have taught and coached students from China, Russia, Taiwan, Italy, Japan in addition to the U.S. Throughout the ten plus years that I have been teaching, I have helped both actors and non-actors, those in the professional business world, gain tools that lead to freedom and ease of expression when speaking in front of others, be it at an audition, an interview, giving a presentation to a board or speaking in front of thousands at a Ted Talk.

I am passionate about teaching dance lessons to people of all ages and levels. I have taught hundreds of satisfied customers from different parts of the world. When it comes to beginners, I like to take them step by step at their own pace, with easy-to-understand explanations and methods that help to remember, in order to make the learning process enjoyable and be able to apply early on the dance floor all the learned material. The goal is to fall in love with dancing!

When it comes to students who have previous experience (intermediate and advanced), my mission is to become a guide and mentor for them. Since in these stages is where they need a push to get out of the level where they are stuck and do not know why, or maybe they get to the point where they can learn all the material from their teachers but fail to improve their own style.

No matter what level you are in, if you are my student, it represents for me a unique and different challenge that leads me to commit myself until you reach your goals. Most of the classes I teach are online, but if you live near my area, I can visit you personally at home for a private session with great pleasure.
