I hold a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum & Instruction. The focus of my dissertation was the impact of education on Latino students from a representative bureaucracy perspective, centered on determining to what extent Latino representation in governance influence Latino students’ graduation rates in public high school in two counties in New York. Accordingly, my research interests include teachers-as-researchers, examining ethnic identity, biculturalism, development of children of color, social and cultural theory, Latino and Afro-Latino studies, race and ethnicity (with a focus on Afro-descendants in and from Latin America), urban sociology, education policy, educational leadership, Culturally-Responsive Teaching, and transition to college initiatives.

Having just recently graduated college with a BA in Music and Mathematics, I have first hand experience with the transition from in-person to online violin lessons and Orchestra rehearsals (as well as other classes). I know the stress it can bring with so much being unknown, and I can provide ways to cope with that stress. I have been playing my violin privately and in orchestras for the past 12 years, watching over my instructors and learning how to teach students of my own. I strive to be a teacher that my students feel they can approach with any problems or worries they have about playing their violin at home or in school. If you think I am a good fit, I look forward to chatting with you!

Around December of last year, I discovered that my heart was not into blog writing. I sent Haley an email and explained my feelings and that I was actually passionate about screenwriting. She wrote back and I discovered this was right (or write) up her alley. Truth be told, as a nine year-old I used to write and direct 8 mm movies with my neighborhood friends as actors and dreamed one day of becoming a writer, producer and director. But like all other dreams this one was derailed.
Haley had me write a couple scene samples. She sent them back to me and was quite pleased with my neophyte attempt. I told her about a sci-fi television project that I wast interested in and after many months of her encouragement and my persistence I finished the first draft.
After some revisions, I watched her perform a table read by Skype utilizing the skills of her improvisation students. I loved watching their reaction as they each read their part. It is very gratifying watching some one become the character you created. It was intended to be funny and campy. There were times the actors seemed to have trouble containing their laughter. Overall their reaction was positive.
At this juncture, Haley is helping me with query letters and obtaining input from other professionals in her inner circle. She is also seeking input from other writers.
The most important thing is I enjoy screenwriting no matter what happens. Haley has helped me love what I'm doing and it is not chore but sweet ride.
I'm greatful for her guidance,
Like any skill, acting benefits from natural talent, but that can only get you so far. Countless hours of patience, practice, and a good amount of confidence are required to take your acting level into another stratosphere, and one of the major steps involves partaking in improv acting. But what is improv acting and how do you do improv acting? Also known as improvisational theater, improv acting refers to an unscripted performance in which the actors spontaneously perform scenes on stage …

While becoming an actor may seem extremely difficult in and of itself, without any experience it may even feel nearly impossible. However, what we often fail to realize is that the process alone of becoming an actor is filled with lessons that add to our overall experience and skill set. In fact, there's actually no such t …
