I've been taking online lessons with Wei for the past couple of months, and I quite enjoy them. As an adult piano player, I don’t have specific goals. I just play for fun most of the time. Wei, nevertheless, made specific teaching plans for me. He learns my strength and weaknesses, and chooses pieces that are both enjoyable to play and technically challenging for me, so that I’m able to tackle my weaknesses. His expertise helps me improve in many ways, like piano techniques and overall understanding of music. After a few lessons with him, I gained confidence in playing. I’m able to improve my performance of the pieces I love. Besides, Wei is an easy-going person. It’s fun to work with him. I strongly recommend his lessons if you are looking for a teacher with patience, expertise and passion for music.

Whether a student is a beginner looking to play their favorite song on the radio, an intermediate looking for some music theory to give them more options in their playing, or an advanced player looking for improvisatory techniques, I tailor each session to the desires of each student and their learning style.

I have a unique, extensive background in teaching the art of playing the piano in a private studio, preparatory school and university level settings. I teach all levels from beginner to advanced for ages five through adult.
I have a strong program in note reading and rhythm skills, as well as exploring all dynamic levels on the keyboard using interesting and fun repertoire.
More advanced students learn to use their theory skills to analyze their music to gain a better understanding of the composer's intent.
They also learn finesse as well as nuances in piano technique to apply to their pieces of music.
I've taught for over five decades so I have tons of knowledge and experience!

About Beverly

I have taught the art of piano playing since 1975 guiding hundreds of students in learning the skill of becoming an accomplished pianist, implementing keyboard theory, analyzing and improvising music and honing their performing abilities through various performing opportunities. I have studied and

I took piano lessons from Mrs. Talley from age 10 to age 17. Over that lengthy period of time, I came to realize that composing music is my true passion in life, a realization that I absolutely would not have attained without Mrs. Talley's invaluable guidance. To put it into perspective, I am 22 years old and finishing up my bachelor's degree in Music Theory/Composition, with the intention to continue pursuing the subject at the masters and doctoral level. I hope to be a theory/composition professor some day. Not only did Mrs. Talley provide me with excellent instruction for performing at the piano, she also facilitated my creative streak and let me arrange/compose songs for fun. She would even let me perform my compositions at recitals! These facts all point to what I think are Mrs. Talley's greatest qualities as a teacher: her love for music in all its forms, paired with her desire to see her students succeed at whatever aspect of music they do best in. I am truly grateful to her and I could not recommend another teacher any more highly!
Julia
My children have taken piano with Mrs. Talley for 9 years. Mrs. Talley has proven to be a phenomenal teacher who helps her students strive to reach their highest standards. She gives them ample opportunities to perform at recitals, guild and sonata competitions, and multiple other outlets which has helped with confidence building. When Covid halted everything else, Mrs. Talley didn’t skip a beat and followed through with video phone call lessons. There was a year when Mrs. Talley moved away and we had the experience of 2 other piano teachers during her absence. It is hard to find a teacher as dedicated and talented as she.
Shae
My children have taken piano lessons with Mrs. Talley for 4+ years. She is kind, patient, and encouraging. She is an outstanding pianist and teacher. We highly recommend her!

Ms. Molly is wonderful!!! She started teaching my father classical voice lessons about a month ago. She uses Cantonese to communicate with my father because that is his first language. She is very patient and understanding and since my father doesn't drive anymore, she offered to buy music books that he needs for his lessons (we reimburse her for the cost, of course). I would highly recommend her!!!

"When my five year old started showing interest in the piano I knew it was time to start lessons. Andy has been great at turning a simple interest into a new ability. Our son is six now and I feel like he is better than me. He is able to recreate songs he hears as well as a little bit of free style. He's no Mozart of course, but Andy's patience and consistent training and encouragement have come a long way. I highly recommend him."
