Writing is an art and science of self-expression. It gives the writer a unique opportunity to express him/her self with power and eloquence that is difficult to use with other methods of communication.

Students will have the opportunity to improve their grades while learning about different writing styles, and developing and perfecting their own.

Hello prospective students! I have five years experience as a middle school English teacher. Why work with me? I push my students to do their best while still being patient and making a connection. I have been tutoring in subjects of English, math, social studies, and science for middle school and elementary school for about 10 years. In the summer, I offer one-on-one and group sessions for Catholic High School Entrance Exams. In this, I teach test-taking strategies and practice sample questions to strengthen the students' skills. I am technology proficient and therefore, utilize many resources in order to be the best teacher I can be. My schedule is flexible and I have transportation if needed. I have taught writing for over five years and love to teach it because writing is my passion. I have written several award winning screenplays and work also work as a freelance writer. I have helped students write college essays which have helped them get into their first choice, graduate students with their research papers on psychology, nursing and business as well as young students writing some of their first creative essays... and everything in between.

I have a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics with a minor in Psychology. I graduated summa cum laude. I also have special teaching licenses in TEFL and TESOL. I have been tutoring for 15+ years all grade levels and subjects, Mathematics, Sciences, Social Studies, and Language Arts. In my experience, no two students are alike, and I'm able to identify unique needs, to help each student progress. Students find me patient, kind and fun to work with. Regarding ESL tutoring, I have a deep understanding of the science and research behind the way English as a second language is learned. I also train teachers on state-adopted ESL materials, so I have access to great resources. I love technology and enjoy using it as a tool for my work. I'm flexible and can adapt to the way each individual student learns best.

Writing remains one of the most important skills everyone needs to succeed in life. I have worked as a professional writer for more than 10 years, with experience as a script writer, copywriter, blogger, and reviewer. Resume writing, cover letters, personal statements, web text, radio ads, and advertisement are my specialties. Additionally, 7 of my scripts to date have been produced as short documentary films and released on DVD. Since writing improvement is a long-term process, I coach how to brainstorm and create an outline for any assignment; balance sentence structure, word usage and conventions to form articulate paragraphs with transitions; practice self-editing; and correctly follow the format of academic writing at any grade level, especially for essays.
