As a writer, a lifelong student of foreign language, and a daughter of an English professor, I have long had a passion for working with people who are new to the English language, or who speak English as a second language and want to learn more!

About Alexandra

I am a professional opera singer with a love for languages. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelors in Voice, and went on to study opera performance at the Opera Institute at Boston Universities. Since then, I've been working as a singer for over 10 years!

I have to sing in a lot of languages for my job, and I'm here to give you some of the tools I use when mastering pronunciation for your own accent reduction pursuits.

I am also a writer and lover of the English language (my mother is a lifelong English teacher), and love sharing this tough-to-master language with others.

A lot of the skills I have as a singer are so helpful for learning how to pronounce languages correctly AND how to support your voice to keep it healthy.

I can also help you in your own singing development and improvement! I can teach you

basic and advanced technical exercises to increase your breath support, tone quality, and overall musicianship.

I look forward to meeting and working with you!

I will design my lessons based on your child's needs, goals, learning style and pace as well as interests. Does your daughter love princesses? Let's learn about food by having a princess party! I am energetic, patient, caring and enthusiastic. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College where I majored in writing as well as a TESOL certification. I am currently teaching ESL classes online to boys and girls ranging from age 5 to 13 and have taught over 100 classes. I would be honored to work with and teach your child English speaking, writing, and reading skills. After signing up for my classes I will happily reach out to you to discuss your child's previous exposure to the English language, learning style, interests and what you are hoping to have your child learn and work on with me.

About Samantha

Hello! My name is Samantha, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College and a TESOL certification. I received my B.A in Creative writing and am a strong supporter of using writing as a tool for self expression. I have taught over 1000 ESL classes! I really enjoy helping students realize that learning can be fun and inspiring them to continue on their path through the English language. My lessons will be fun, exciting and specific to your child's learning needs, goals and personal interests. In my classroom students can expect a positive, uplifting and encouraging learning environment. My teaching philosophy is that students learn best when they feel a connection to the material and so I will build my classes based on a student's interests, this way the student will be motivated to learn and see a relationship between what they le

arn and their lives. I also believe in positive encouragement and correction, we learn from our mistakes and I think it is important to highlight the growing process in learning. In my classroom I notice and appreciate effort and will pay attention to my students' journey and make sure they see their own progress and feel pride in their accomplishments and growth. Whether you want to improve your skills in writing, reading, or speaking, expand your vocabulary or improve communication skills through casual conversation, I am more than happy to help.

Hi, my name is Jill. I am from the USA and am a very advanced native English speaker. My goal is to assist you in gaining educational proficiencies, particularly in communications, art, business, study skills, web design, and English. I have a great deal of education and publishing experience, which will make for a successful collaboration on any project. As a lifelong learner and educator, I am consistently adding to my knowledge bank through apropos research and online courses. I have completed 37 certifications, including the 100 hour TESOL (Teaching English As A Second Language) course offered by Oxford Seminars with an excellent score.
For those of you who may be creatively inclined, I offer inclusions of art in your lesson plans because I have also taught art to just about every age group, and mainly have loved teaching high school and adult levels. Just think about all the different ways you could use this information by simply spending some tutoring time with me!
I think ...

About Jill

Join me for the creative unleashing of highly effective processes of learning success. Your instruction will include: A. creative problem solving (unleashing the genius within) B. formation; a foundation is planned (architect) C. building; drafts are written (carpenter) D. finishing; the writing is polished (finishing editor/proofreader) I've used these guiding principles countless times in my life. Just as a jeweler would not be able to sell rough stones, Jill would not have been able to make anything in the publishing field without employing these principles. Her college papers would have been fair to dull rocks. She can say this as the daughter of a bricklayer who was the son of a stonemason in a familial line that dates back to middle 1600. So, of course, I did learn about laying bricks and throwing rocks too. Not very many structures

stand the test of time when we throw rocks (rough drafts). Only with this brick, mortar, and finish will the building stand. But enough about my lineage. My capstone point is that the finishing point of any building or writing should communicate a great product. In creating this description I had the above principles in mind. My college papers, business papers, copywriting, web designs, resumes, and even informal conversations are inclusive of this process of which proofreading is a vital component. Why? Well, I might want to throw a rock at myself if I assume myself incapable of accomplishing as much. And as the daughter of a bricklayer, I think I know about bricks and buildings, and mortar, and capstones such as proofreading. So now at my concluding paragraph contains the capstone of what is called proofreading. Proofreading, as my gem of a teacher told me, is constructed with similar principles. It contains a precise methodology which assures great communication. I would like to involve you in this structure. Please step in the door so I may explain the steps involved in editing and proofreading as art, the elements and principles of Art and English as your toolkit, and design as your structured building of success!

Hablo espanol. I am patient and make lessons according to your needs.

About Virginia

Welcome to Takelessons.com! There are many lovely teachers on this site. I am here to help you succeed. I offer English, Writing, Piano, Math, Test Preparation, Dissertation writing, and Homework help.

Music: I can offer you a well rounded plan of study and you can choose what and how you would like to learn. For example, young students generally want to learn to read the notes. For these I give classes in theory, music history, ear training, and technique along with the note reading. Older students generally want to learn to play songs they know by learning notes in the right hand and putting chords in the left hand. For these students, I emphasize the theory so they will understand what notes go together to make a nice sound.

My background has been in church music. I started playing at church for services when I was 16 years old.

When English is not your first language, you want to make sure your written and spoken skills surpass those of even native speakers. I would like to help students starting their journey into the English speaking world.

About Xiomara

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy, English is my second language, and I love to dance.

I'm not great at "selling" myself as to why you should choose me to be your instructor. I struggled while in school, but I managed to get through. Now, when I educate patients, colleagues, or even friends, I have found ways to make tough subjects easy to understand. We sometimes get caught up in "sounding smart" and don't know if the person receiving the information is understanding. If you are not able to understand a topic in easier layman's terms, no matter how well you memorize it, it won't stick for long.

I hope to be able to assist students who may be struggling with ESL and anatomy find effective studying strategies to grasp and understand the material presented.

"The best ESL teacher EVER"
"Hello, my name is Blanca Garza, I took English classes with Nery through Harris County in 2009 and 2010. After that I also took private classes with her.

She is a very professional teacher, a very nice person, and always helpfull with my questions."
"Kristen is a wonderful teacher! She is teaching me and a friend at the same time and we both love the classes."

"Ms. Mary was extremely helpful and a great teacher. She answered all my questions and helped me improve my language skills. She provided me with up to dat
e information. I highly recommend her. My English is 100% better because of her."
"Melissa is a miracle worker! My mother-in-law moved to the United States 40 years ago unable to speak english and while she has done a good job at learni
ng on her own, she had significant gaps in her ability to effectively communicate. For her 68th birthday, I bought her lessons with Melissa. My mother-in-law told me I was wasting my money because she couldn't learn anything new. Well, needless to say, she can learn and with Melissa's excellent tutelage has dramatically increased her ability to speak and comprehend english. This has enabled a new level of confidence and freedom that she did not previously have and is a game changer for her. I attribute her improvement directly to Melissa's ability to understand her student's needs and personalities and craft and deliver a quality, tailored curriculum. After our first round of classes, my mother-in-law is excited to continue the lessons and has a renewed curiosity and interest in learning. Great job and thank you Melissa!!!"
"She is good!"
"He was very patient and encouraging. I was able to pass the IELTS with his help!"
"Leah is so energetic while teaching her class. She goes above and beyond for her each student, by having activities to spark their interest. She meets eac
h student where they are academically and successfully help each student complete the course. She is patient, kind and full of a loving spirit and a joy to watch online. Allow her the opportunity to teach your children because she is fully equipped with the knowledge, credentials and experience to do so! Enjoy the leah teach experience!!!"
"I really like his teaching style. Matt is patient and focused."
