About Natalie

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, at the age of 9, Natalie knew music was something that was just a part of who she was. Writing songs on the piano before lessons could be scheduled, Natalie found herself immersed in a medium that would bring her joy for the rest of her life.

By age 14 Natalie had won several trophies competing in Classical piano with the Illinois Music Association.

As an adult, she would go on to fill her life with the world of music as a singer, songwriter, performer and recording artist.

Graduating from Elmhurst College (1997) with a Bachelor's in Music, Natalie received high accolades earning a membership in the Lambda Sigma Psi Music Honor Society.

During her college years, Natalie created and owned a local music publication called, "The Local Buzz". At this moment she had discovered her

desire to teach. "I just wanted everyone I knew in music to know and use what I was learning, or had learned from the music classes, professionals I had been meeting and working with, and my overall music life experiences". By 1997, Natalie was signed to an independent label and embarked on a new adventure.

"Music is an adventure, but without the foundation and passion I had as a child, I would have never landed where I did. I truly LOVE to teach and share what I know about piano, and the world of music. Music is what I know, and know best. Helping to create a solid foundation and build confidence in someone embarking on a journey in music is the most rewarding profession I have ever had the honor of participating in."

About Matthew

I am a part-time online teacher specializing in teaching english as a second language and history. I graduated from Curry College in May 2014 with a B.A. in Politics and History and a minor in English. I subsequently completed a 10 month ESL fellowship in Israel from September 2015 until July 2016. I began teaching online to Chinese students in August 2017 through the company of 51talk and was promoted once during my time with them. Currently, I teach online both through that company though also offer my own lessons which I design and use.

My lessons focus on specific words and how they are used. For example the most common word in the english language is the word "the." My corresponding lesson focuses on basic sentence examples using that word and also offers the student the opportunity to construct their own. I have similar lessons f

or "that," "this," "or," "of," and many others. My ultimately goal is to give the student a basic understanding of the 50 most common words in the English language upon which future lessons can build. More advanced lessons are available upon request.

In addition to English, I am also adept at History. I have always been fascinated with the subject and enjoy assisting others with historical assignments. In addition to graduating with a degree in history, I also gained the Politics and History award of my college upon graduation and studied the History of the Italian Renaissance for three months in Florence Italy in 2010. I am adept at essay writing and historical research.

About Will

Hi there, I'm Will. I’ve spent the last 10 years exploring the artsy-science of storytelling and persuasive speech, and put in many a late night to streamline success in the voice over industry (commercials and cartoons). Over the past 5 years, 200+ repeat clients in 23 countries have trusted me to speak for them, to be an advocate for their brand.

For years, I've spoken for other people...now, I want to teach others to speak for themselves. Maybe you're trying to gain greater confidence in speaking, maybe you're looking to modify your native accent, maybe you want to regain your old voice after a stroke or injury, maybe you want to build a sustainable career in acting/vo like I've done. Whatever you're after, I can help.

Will walked me through each step of building a VO business: technique, marketing, professional standards, you name it. I got my first paid job today and I owe a hell of lot to Will’s training. If you want a coach who will go the extra mile and will celebrate your success without reservation--look no further. He is a superstar.

About Igor

Hi again,

(by the way, i'm writing this assuming addressing the person that i will work with, if you're a parent or somebody else reading this, please imagine you were the one that needs this service).

So in the previous section i think i described myself pretty thoroughly. I will use this section to let you know what you can expect from me, so you have a better idea of who i am and what i can do for you.

I will focus on YOUR needs

What does that mean? I remember when i was learning English and they were teaching me a lot of irrelevant stuff. I learned things like: " Sally likes apples and Bob likes cakes" It's all nice, but what i really wanted to know was what to say to a teacher when i want to go to the washroom. But nobody ever asked me what i want to learn, they just told me what i should learn. And that's fine, there is a plac

e for practicing things like "Sally likes apples", but if you have an area where you want to improve in. Tell me and we'll practice. We can roleplay! I will ask you questions and you will try to answer as best you can and i will correct you. I will talk with you in English like i would talk to a friend (like my friend did to me when i was learning English) and you will pick it up much faster! I will go as slow or as fast as you can handle. You can tell me about your day. Or ask questions. We will try a few things and find what works for you!

I am a fan of compound learning.

What does that mean? Here is an example! We can learn what the words: apple. Juice. I. Want. are individually. ORRRR we can learn a sentence of: I want apple juice. Instead of trying to make your brain remember 4 objects separately, you will only have to remember 1 object that contains all of those smaller objects. That speeds up learning a lot. Of course, it depends on your level. And we will start with the very basic stuff. But as soon as you get the basics, we will move on to this. And before you know it, you will start speaking in complete sentences. And once you speak, you will read, write and be on your way to think in English.

I will be patient with you!

I will go at the speed that you can handle. There will be homework too!

About Tommy

Is your child struggling in math? There are many reasons why someone may be struggling in math. They could have dyscalculia or math anxiety. They have trouble relating math to something that interest them. They have a poor foundation in math. They try memorizing concepts and formulas without really understanding them. They get over frustrated because they don't understand the question and give up. They think it's boring and don't want to learn. I'll figure out the reason as to why your child is struggling and help them overcome it and teach them what they need to succeed.

About Ezekiel

My Name is Ezekiel Danjuma, am a student of Physics and Astronomy, You can call me Rahul Danj or simply Rahul. My friends usually refer to me as physics , but I prefer Rahul. Let me just say this: "do you know that relativity is just purely observation, besides, everything you see or experience is observation, but what about what you hear, feel, taste, and percieve can they be explained with relativity... What would length contraction and time dilation mean in terms of other senses other than eye. I Love physics, it is everything. I believe the study of physics should be fun not stressful and I always aim at relaxing the stress on physics students.

About Michael

I found my passion for teaching in 2017 after spending five years in the accounting field. I graduated college in three and a half years with 134 credits and a bachelors degree in accounting. I have taught art, science, and reading, and work as a tutor for the Baltimore County Public Schools Title 1 program.

My goal as a teacher and a mentor is not only to help you improve in specific areas, but also to help you learn skills that you can use across any subject or skill you attempt to conquer. I believe in striking a balance during the learning process that focuses equally on learning content, and learning oneself. Understanding your personality, learning style, and work habits can drastically improve your ability to understand new concepts, and I hope to earn the opportunity to help you along the way.

About Rossina

"The teacher doesn't explain it well."
"When will I ever use this?"
"I just need to pass this math class to graduate."
"I'm just not a math person!"

These are some of the things I've heard over the years as a math tutor, with the latter being the most challenging to overcome. It was the first thing I heard from my first student--my best friend--when I started tutoring about ten years ago. It was and still is her core belief that she is not a "math person," but I was delighted to help her with the challenge she faced.

My friend was attending college intermittently, and her goal was to receive her Associates Degree. It was actually a frustrating experience for her because she failed the required math class three times, and when I started helping her about 2/3 of the way through the semester of the fourth attempt, she had an F. Long sto

ry short, she raised her grade to an A, and I was so proud of her!

From then on, I realized that I wanted to pursue math tutoring as a full-time profession. I find great joy helping my students overcome their challenges, and it's also been a great learning experience working with them. The most important things I've learned to do and have refined over the years are:

1. Creating positive rapport with students and families.
2. Communicating clearly about goals and how they can be best achieved.
3. Achieving desired results by adapting to different learning styles.
4. Establishing a strong foundation in basic math skills, so that success in higher-level classes is achieved.
5. Being punctual, consistent, and intuitively attentive to students.
6. Using technology to conduct online lessons.

It truly has been a wonderful and sometimes challenging experience being a math tutor, but I take my job seriously, always looking for ways to grow and learn to be a better tutor. At the end of the day, the most satisfying remark I've heard and always hope for from students is, "This is actually kind of fun now that I get it."

"He has a great way of not just having kids understand math but retain the information for tests. He helped our son go from failing to fully passing his ma

"Excellent Math and Science tutoring for my boy... And the guitar lessons for both of us great! Much practicing to do..."
Cyndi
"I feel compelled to share a great “find” I made last year. School had only been in session for two weeks before my kids came home lamenting that their AP
Physics teacher left them totally confused and stressed out. Switching to a less demanding schedule wasn’t an option so I decided to look for some help. Lord knows, it wasn’t going to come from me or my husband! I found Daniel, a 2012 UCLA engineering grad who has been tutoring for many years. After the boys’ first meeting with him, the level of stress in our household plummeted and the boys did well on their first physics test. They ended up with A's in the class and doing well on the AP exam. We’ve decided to have him come regularly, just to make sure the boys understand the material and keep them confident. Daniel is able to help them with anything they don’t get in their calculus class as well.
So as you stare the next school year in the face, if your child has any difficulty with their studies, especially in math or physics, consider talking to Daniel. He’s a lovely young man and the boys really responded to him well."

"Mr Guy is a super talented and passionate teacher, he will never give up on the student until success, by success I mean 95s and above. History can be a h
ard class as there is a lot of timelines and events that have happened, especially world history. After having him as a teacher I have never stopped thinking about the timelines and the events, and the best part of Guy as a teacher, he will make sure that you understand both sides of the story, such as from an American side, and German side. This opens my mind up to an international viewpoint, and I have been able to have conversations with historians about for example WW2 and I have managed to surprise them with my knowledge, only because of Mr Guy.
Never have I ever met such a passionate teacher in my entire life, and I would even want him to private tutor me if I was still taking History."

Even if you've reviewed the SAT math tips in Merrick, NY tutor Justin L.'s previous article, the SAT math problems that require a student-produced response can cause a whole new level of anxiety. Read on to learn a few helpful tricks...   It’s very rare to see something on the SAT break a student’s stride and morale worse than the Student-Produced Response (SPR) questions.
