Struggling with writing? Reading? Getting your ideas and concepts out there for others to enjoy? Try a few lessons and see if your world doesn't open up!

About Marsha
The Recital was fabulous- thanks for all your work.

Goals: Since I am also a Life Coach, we really focus on how to accomplish our hopes and desires. We begin by weekly, then monthly and even a yearly goal.

Each week we also focus on something in my STUDENT PAL - mnemonic. Another is TECHNIQUE. Technique is the ability to have proper position, wrist-lifts and finger curve as well as Theoretic knowledge and application.

I started giving out lickable gold stars, you know, the old-fashioned kind? They are for those students who mark their lesson sheet and come prepared... They really seem to enjoy that, and I adore the nostalgia!

It is a great week when students are nearly all prepared and ready for their lessons. This makes both Coach and student more effective and the time together more enjoyable.

Perhaps you are reading
this with both a little excitement and a little concern. Finding the right person for your or your student can be intimidating. A short introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy which can assist you make an informed decision. If we are a good fit, lessons and learning progress more joyfully.

I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven. I have since taught the students of former students! How fun is that?

Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Teaching at the Young Artists Conservatory of Music; Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years has been a delight.

I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons, which we revisit monthly. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them/you to accomplish the goals set, working with music that delights and educates.

You want the best teacher, who offers information, example, practice and performance opportunities and then gets out of the way of the student's own "voice" (whether playing or singing) so that they can be free to create their own style.

*** Lesson Details ***
In our lessons, we work with a predictable schedule of balance. We have weekly exercises to make strong fingers and or voices, and technique and theory practice to hone skills that will improve our performances, whether they are for others or for our own benefit. Each student of piano can learn how to create and write their own music in time, choose their own pieces to work on, and have a say in their classical and performance goals.

We have a program of advancement, so you and your loved ones can visually see your progress and measure your skills, complete with awards and trophies.

What you learn, has everything to do with your commitment. Practice doesn't make perfect, Practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.

Learning the piano ought to be a JOY. I believe in playing the piano, not 'practicing' it. Enjoy what you do, and you'll do it longer and with celebration instead of duty.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano - upright; CD player; Music stands; Dozens of music books and lesson materials; flash cards; computer and music writing program; mic and mirror, syllabus.

*** Travel Equipment ***
No travel.

*** Specialties ***
Over the years I have dabbled in most methods, but finally come to use my own syllabus and musicianship. I can easily adapt to your favourite if that is your desire. I specialize in a total music education, not merely in learning notes. It is like looking in a mirror and only seeing eyes and skin. Music has many facets and we discover all of them.

He was patient, prepared to help with test taking skills along with the actual content of the tests, and made himself available on a very short notice. In addition, Daniel is just a nice, respectful person that was a pleasure to interact with. I can not say enough. Highly recommend him!

I am an adult voice student who took voice lessons with Emily to improve my singing in a church choir. She succeeded, and in the process changed the way I view my voice and myself.

Emily is a very knowledgable, patient, and supportive teacher. She is also one of the most charismatic and funny people I have ever met. A joy to work with.

Highly recommended.

Emily is a great teacher, who really is invested in her students progress. She makes the lessons a great blend of technique work and repitore. When she picks music she gives options to the student and makes sure to pick something that helps you grow as a musician but isn’t too difficult or challenging. Over all I have had only good experiences while taking lessons with her.

After that I tried to get in touch to change the time of a class and she never got back to me. English is an essential language to know for many reasons: English is the language of science (mathematics is the quantitative language, and English is the qualitative language), English speakers earn more money than non-English speakers, English is the most commonly used language among foreign language speakers, English is based on an alphabet making it much easier to learn, and English is the language of the film industry making it easier for English speakers to assimilate new information and to no longer rely on subtitles.

I have supported students with both the English, Reading, and Writing sections of the ACT and the Reading, Writing & Language, and Essay sections of the PSAT and SAT for more than fourteen years. I have also supported university students with both the verbal and essay (issue and argument) sections of the GRE and GMAT for more than eleven years. Examination preparation continues to be one of my most successful endeavors. I look forward to ensuring your success

About Brandon
Students and Parents,

It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, and I am elated you have found interest in my profile! The following is an extremely detailed description of my credentials, services, and mission. Please also read the "subjects" section for more specific information. I want you to make informed decisions and to receive the best service possible. I look forward to working with you!

Credentials:

Please know that I am one of the most, if not the most, highly rated academic coaches in the United States on another well-known website. Your "wise" "aunt" may have told you about it. I am willing to provide my services at a discount, since I am new to TakeLessons. Take advantage of this opportunity! You will be glad you did!

You and your loved ones will receive support from a coach who is well-educated and exper
ienced. In addition to my degree pursuits, I have taken several supplemental courses through online venues provided by Harvard University; Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); University of California, Berkeley; and Columbia University. I have nine consecutive years of Master Gold Certification from the American Tutoring Association verifying my background, teaching expertise, and 2700+ hours of documented coaching in addition to my hours through TakeLessons. I am also lead editor for a Chinese consulting firm, specializing in international undergraduate and graduate applications from Asian students to American and Western European colleges and universities.

You and your loved ones will benefit from engaging with only one coach instead of numerous "tutors" for disparate topics. I am qualified to coach the quantitative (mathematics and science) and verbal (reading and writing) sections of every standardized examination I support. I have scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT (35), SAT (1560), GMAT (790: Q51, V47), and GRE (339: 169V, 170Q). Manhattan Prep, Princeton Review, and Kaplan have requested my GMAT and GRE expertise on multiple occasions.

You and your loved ones will work with a coach who has developed insight and perspective, having taught both middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate students and career-minded professionals from numerous states and countries. I have 15+ years of coaching experience: 6+ years as a private undergraduate/graduate tutor and 9+ years as an Academic Coach.

Services:

You and your loved ones will learn in quiet, comfortable environments and will benefit from flexible scheduling. For national and international students, I provide convenient online sessions. For local students, in addition to online sessions, I provide in-person (1-2 students) and small group (3-5 students) sessions at my office/conference room in Bloomfield Hills. I am able to accommodate most days and times and am available mornings, afternoons, and evenings during holiday breaks and summer months.

You and your loved ones will be given the resources you need to achieve success. I provide official materials (GMAC, ETS, ACT, College Board, etc.), unofficial materials (Manhattan Prep, Veritas, Princeton Review, Kaplan, Aristotle Prep, Barron, McGraw Hill, etc.), textbooks, workbooks, worksheets, equation sheets, vocabulary references, etc. I also furnish detailed solutions to session and homework exercises to ensure understanding and completeness.

Mission:

I act as a teacher, manager, mentor, organizer, counselor, resource expert, educational consultant, and motivational speaker. I create short-term and long-term solutions by utilizing comprehensive, multidimensional approaches. I dedicate my professional life to the success of my clients and the satisfaction of their parents (when applicable).

I build professional relationships based on respect, trust, and cooperation, allowing me to bridge the separation between the positions in which clients find themselves and those in which they would prefer to be. I also cultivate self-esteem, confidence, patience, consistency, and problem-solving skills to improve academic performance. I always relate the importance of education to both personal and professional pursuits to create interest and passion for learning.

Above all, I help clients to relax and to realize their full potentials. They often tell me that they are thankful for my open, honest, and supportive demeanor, which allows them to more easily share their thoughts and feelings. They are also inspired to share positive feedback with their colleagues, educators, classmates, and parents. Parents often tell me that they appreciate the thorough communication I provide and admire the influence I have on their children.

Our sessions are an investment in your future; not only will you learn information and techniques necessary to excel at your studies, but you will also gain a firm educational foundation that will serve both your personal and professional lives for years to come. I create the most meaningful experiences in my life by inspiring clients to achieve success. I encourage you to form your own opinion about this opportunity by contacting me now. Let's get to work!
