Focusing on diverse techniques, including types of characters, staging, blocking of scenes, costuming, creating characters, improv and games for each concept.
In the past years we've done excerpts from The Polar Express, The Wizard of Oz, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and George and the Marvelous Medicine.
This summer of 2014, we're doing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where we are discussing staging, blocking, creating costumes and props.
We are constantly play games to reinforce the techniques presented each week and the students always have fun. They walk away confident and wanting to learn more.
Spend time on costuming and set design, by creating with the materials we find at Goodwill, thrift stores and other retail businesses. We look over the characters descriptions and utilize our creative to flow with costuming and scenery.

I will first figure out what your goals are for the theater. Then, depending on your level, we will work on everything from breath to keeping each performance interesting and engaging. Expect to be challenged, to ask questions, and to dive deeper into the character that you are trying to explore. Also expect to learn how to work the stage and the basic skills needed to succeed on stage, which includes actor feedback as well as technical feedback such as "cheating out" and "not upstaging yourself."

Hailing from NYC I have been involved in the theatre arts my entire life. I have been fortunate to have studied with some of the best teachers including Sanford Meisner. I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Skidmore College in Theatre and have been in numerous Theatrical Productions both in NYC and Los Angeles, as well as, numerous televisions and film credits. I have a passion for helping others succeed and manifesting their goals. And can even help with the true beginner in setting up your online profiles. Improv is all about NOT SAYING NO and being fearless! A true actor should thrive on improv. It takes great skill to be raw and inventive on the spot. Improv is best taught in groups but one on one is excellent as well, especially for the beginner.
