Using my vocal and acting training, I have worked with many students on improving their speaking voices for public speaking or voice-over work. I use Linklater , and Alexander technique combined with other training to help students overcome their fear of public speaking as well as their technical vocal issues, such as articulation, projection, breathing problems and modulating the voice in a pleasant way. I can help you overcome an overly nasally tone for example or a monotone voice.

About Wendy

I've been teaching private vocal instruction since 2003, and opened my own studio in 2008. I love helping people find their true, authentic voice, which I feel is essential not only for singers but many other people as well! Singing is a great joy, and the voice is one of our primary modes of expre

About Bill

I have always been a self-studier in my entire life. Being able to learn with just books and your brain is a crucial skill to have! However, I know not everyone (and sometimes even myself) have the discipline and motivation to keep going during hard times. This is where a tutor would come in handy.

I know that I can teach this difficult subject in the simplest ways. Everyone I have helped told me they were surprised at how easy it is once I explain it to them. I love that I am able to teach a subject that seems difficult to most in an easy way. I give all the students notes from our sessions, One of their teachers said that the notes helped them understand the math better as well! I can pinpoint right away where, why and how they arrived at a different solution (and I can explain all of it in a way they understand it easily). I can make up a math test to see exactly where their strengths and weaknesses are. I have studied this subject for a long time and can help anyone who needs it.

About Jean

I understand the material completely and am able to easily teach the different subjects of math. I am going to school to get my civil engineering Bachelor's degree with a math minor. I have helped students with math and other subjects since I was a Junior in high school. I've tutored students and f

Greetings! I am an English professor with a background and daily life steeped in creative writing. Whether you are a student, hobbyist, aspiring or current author, I can help.

I will teach you how to incorporate writing into your daily discipline, how to overcome writer's block effectively and reliably, what the "rules" are and how to break them. I will solidify what it actually means to be a "good writer."

If you want to learn more about how to polish your manuscript in preparation for publication, I am experienced and will teach you what you need to know.

If you are a Mac user who is interested in learning more about the process of turning your manuscript into an e-book, I can introduce you to a formatting program and teach you to use it.

Examples of those who would benefit from my classes:
-Students currently studying creative writing
-Hobbyist writers, i.e. those who write for the fun of it (personal projects, fan fiction, etc.)
-Aspring authors, i.e. those who

About Alyssa

Professor Moore is an incredible teacher. I had her in an English class while I was attending college, and she brought such life and inspiration to the classroom. She introduced unique and engaging writing workshops in class, and explained things in depth. As someone who normally doesn’t like sitting in on an English class, Professor Moore helped me really love learning.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure to work with her outside the classroom when it comes to writing. She has helped me work on poems and gave great constructive criticism on stories I have been working on. Professor Moore really works with your learning styles, and is a great person to learn from.
I highly recommend her and all she can offer!

Alyssa is a fantastic teacher, she has mentored me for many years now and hopefully will for many years to come. I am lucky enough to have gotten feedback from her on many projects and they always are better for it! She has helped me better my craft and I'm happy to say that with her guidance I have been able to finish many short stories and am a few chapters into my first book. I highly, highly recommend learning from her if you would like to not only better your skills but also come away from your lessons inspired and ready to start writing!

"I highly recommend, the best teacher I’ve had. Responsible! Caring!

I took TOEFL perpetration classes with Henry. He is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. Because of his experience in journalism he has amazing knowledge in writing, reading, speaking, He worked on my general English skills first because I thought I had enough proficiency in English while I didn't, and after some classes he started TOEFL, he definitely knows what area of English I was weak in so, step by step, he lead me in the right direction. He's very responsible and carrying. I got a higher score than I was expecting."

"Colin is amazing. I was preparing to take the AFOQTS and my first score was 70... I scheduled lessons with Colin and 2 weeks later I scored a 98 on the actual test! Colin was extremely good at communicating with me, being flexible in our lessons and adopting what he was teaching to exactly what I needed. Like me he had to "relearn" math as an adult and because of that he is able to explain things so that they make sense logically rather than give formulas to memorize like my horrible public school teachers.

I really cannot recommend him enough, thank you for all your help Colin!"

"Hiyab is super-duper -- I couldn't be happier. My 11-year-old son is having trouble with distance learning math. My wife and I had a parent-teacher conference and got feedback that “your son needs to show his work”. The kids take pictures of their notebooks and send them back to the teacher. So, when I looked at my son’s notebook it was just a hot mess. There was no organization, the numbers were huge, there were boxes around some work, arrows pointing to answers on the other side of the page. I had no idea where to start to fix his problem.

Hiyab met us online through the Zoom portal and cut straight to the bigger challenge. My son doesn’t know how to organize his homework! Hiyab told him to write his numbers in a smaller size which changed everything -- now there is space on the page to organize his work. He showed my son how to number his homework problems 1), 2), 3). Hiyab gave him a trick to put “/” marks between the steps of his math problems. After my son saw HOW to organize “showing his work”, Hiyab started going through the examples in the workbook which actually teach you how to “show your work”.

I really like our school district. I appreciate our teachers, but they just do not have an hour to sit down with each and every kid to get them on track. It is totally worth it to me to get my son the help he needs from someone like Hiyab -- he is great!"

"Marwan is amazing!
He impressed me already the first minutes of the first lesson he gave my son in AP Calculus BC by asking specific questions and pin pointing where my son might need help. After that he has come prepared and focused with materials for each tutoring session.
Marwan's piano credentials speak for themselves but I want to underscore that he is really good at adjusting to the student's level and making it fun. My daughter always tells me afterwards *it is so much fun with Marwan!*.

On top of all that, Marwan is a good, kind person and a really cool guy. You could not be in better hands."

"What a wonderful experience. My son is moving into the 7th grade and I wanted him to have a insight to the next level of math and sciences. After my sons initial consultation and testing, Amadou made some topic suggestions (algebra and Chemistry) and I was truly impressed with his understanding of exactly where my son was and what he needed. But most importantly after 3 weeks my son has grasped the concepts taught by Amadou, he is happy and incredibly he looks forward to going to tutoring and it's the middle of summer. That's spectacular for me as a parent."
