Experienced teacher in ESL, English, writing & comprehension, essay composition, and creative writing. Available to teach students of all experience levels and ages.

My ultimate goal will be to prepare you for the exciting journey of becoming a lifelong learner and where that knowledge will take you!

Lessons are ALWAYS structured to be engaging and impactful for my students.

After getting to know the student and their learning goals, I will tailor their learning benchmarks to be comfortably achieved for the student in a meaningful way.

I love working with students from all walks of life and can't wait to hear your story as well!

About Rachel
Rachel has taught private lessons since 2014 and is currently available to teach at your home, local coffee shops and libraries, as well as online. She has successfully helped ESL students learn English by customizing learning activities that are engaging, and stimulate student growth with ease, comfort, and fun.

She has taught for Denver Public School District as a Guest Teacher and volunteered with nonprofit groups as Reading Partners - in which she successfully helped struggling elementary students get on-track with their corresponding reading levels - and working as a camp counselor for underprivileged youth.

No matter what, Rachel always looks forward to helping students achieve their educational goals and objectives. Her teaching style consists of patience, dedication, and discipline.

Actively listening to her student's n
eeds is also an integral component to Rachel's teaching philosophy. Discovering what one student might need from a learning environment could be the polar opposite of the next student might require. (It's not to say that one is necessarily better or worse; it's more like although there are two different roads that a person could choose to take, both will nevertheless take you to your destination).

Listening closely to her students also helps with adapting and designing lessons to not only reflect individual learning styles and preferences, but to also set students up for achieving success and fulfilling their potential.

Rachel received her Bachelors in Communication from Northern Arizona University in 2008 and concluded her radio broadcast internship as Website Entertainment Editor upon graduating.

She went on to University of Phoenix, where she led communication endeavors as a project consultant for a knowledge base renovation and has since been tutoring and teaching for public and private education.

As an ESL student myself, I understand the struggles that English language can provide. That is why I try to help all of my ESL friends to improve their english, as I was once helped. I love languages because learning and mustering a new languages opens a new world of possibilities and broadens one's horizons.

About Artem
Hello! My name is Artem Kolesov and I'm 22 years old. I'm a second year Masters student at Roosevelt University majoring in Violin Performance.
I am passionate about teaching because I believe education and willingness to learn is an extremely important factor for personal development and success.
I was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia and underwent intensive training in Voice, Violin and Piano. After winning the Frieburg Intenational Violin Competition in 2010, I was offered a full scholarship to study music at Dalhousie University at the age of sixteen. After moving to Canada I had to go through a 9-month intensive english learning program, so I know first hand how difficult it can be to learn a new language. This experience helped me understand the struggles that any ESL student goes through and discover new ways to teach
my first language to others.
I am excited to get to know you and share my knowledge with you!

Nothing beats learning from a native speaker, especially one as knowledgeable and professional as Artem. Russian is his native language, but you would never have guessed it since his English is impeccable. He takes difficult concepts and makes them simple to understand. He walks with you each step of the way, meeting you at your level and guiding you to fluency. He understands the best way you learn and adapts to your learning needs and situation. Artem will help you attain native pronunciation and will go out of his way to provide extra help and materials. I've been amazed how much I have gained from lessons with him. Highly recommended. Wonderful teacher.

Artem was incredibly helpful when I was taking my Russian classes. My parents never taught me and I finally decided to learn so I could converse with my grandparents.

Artem was amazing at showing me how to speak naturally and fluently without ever getting impatient with me. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn.

I have an eclectic and experiential approach to teaching. I use a textbook or any resources as a starting point and reference. Conversation is the most important practice and I always have very interesting conversations with students. I provide English lessons that are experiential, integrative, holistic, and dynamic. Field trips can be arranged. My aim is to provide lessons that are interesting, fun, and effective.

About Rebecca
Welcome to a new world with the English language! Learning a new language is one of the most exciting things you can do for yourself, as it has so many benefits. It opens you up to a whole new world full of different experiences, opportunities and friendships! I am a huge proponent of learning a second language. I love teaching English because I love working with internationals. Let me tell you a little about myself.

I have lived and worked in China, and taught many students of all ages, both in this country and abroad. I am TEFL certified and have a master's degree in psychology. I can tailor your language learning to whatever your goals may be- whether it is for work, school, or social needs. I have an eclectic and experiential approach to teaching. My aim is to provide lessons that are fun and effective. I have endless patience for
language learning. I have a sharp ear and am concerned with pronunciation.

Please contact me with any questions about location for your lessons, as I cannot tailor my profile here the way I would like. I teach in-home lessons on the Eastside of Seattle. Students outside of this area, I generally meet at a library closer to me. I do have availability in Seattle (limited), where I meet students at Beacon Hill Branch Library.

I look forward to working with you!

Sincerely, Rebecca

Rebecca is a very good tutor. She is a very communicative and friendly person. Her lessons productive and interesting. She was always ready to support a conversion and stayed calm about my mistakes :) We practiced new words, expressions and idioms, she helped me to correct my pronunciation and grammar. After our classes I became more confident about my English, especially speaking skills. She makes student very comfortable during the class. However, I highly recommend her as an English tutor!

I am a native English speaker and able to help with reading, reading comprehension, writing and grammar.

About Ulyana
My name is Ulyana and I'm passionate about teaching and tutoring! I graduated with a B.S. from Rice University (Houston, TX), specializing in earth sciences (geology and chemistry). I did my Masters in planetary geology at Brown University (Providence, RI), and for my PhD, I trekked over 1500 miles in Nepal, studying glacial lake flooding hazards to Sherpa villages, as well as impacts of pollution on pristine high mountains, including Mt. Everest.

For seven years now, I have either tutored or taught, in classrooms and in the field, all age groups, sharing the joy of science, math - and learning in general! When I was in my teens, I participated in many science fairs and symposia at the national and international level. Then I went to college and grad school in science. Pretty much, science has been my life! For any of your science need
s, with a special focus on astronomy and geology (earth sciences), I'm here to help. I can assist with physics, biology, chemistry and math (algebra, pre-calc, calculus). Given my experience in public speaking, the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and writing, I can assist with that as well!

If you're interested in creative lessons - with a true focus on your learning experience, I'm your tutor! Often times when working out in the field in extreme locations (e.g., Antarctica and Mt. Everest), I have to MacGyver solutions on the fly. I want to teach you how to think. This skill will serve you well, long into the future.

I'm a certified teacher of English so I know perfectly well what phonetic and grammar features need to be explained and how to present them in an easy way. I'm fun to be with, very sensitive to my students' personalities and needs, excellent at encouraging them to talk and be creative. The key concept of my teaching method is communication + enjoyment. I firmly believe that every student is a bright student if the teaching material they are presented with is relevant and stimulating.

About Svitlana
I'm passionate about languages. In addition to my English, Russian and Ukrainian, I'm now learning Spanish. I also love reading. In 2016 I participated in an all-Russia literary translation competition held by the British Council - New Writing From The UK. There were about 5,000 applications, and my translation was awarded the first prize!

Interested in improving your English skills? Do you want to communicate efficiently, effectively, and with purpose? I can help. I have been teaching ESL for 3 years. I teach students from all over the globe, including China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea. My students are diverse, with many different skill levels and, best of all, personalities. I understand the value of researching each student and tailoring lessons to their individual needs. I am friendly, patient, and most of all, encouraging. No victory is a small victory. We will celebrate often as you progress!

About Laurel
I have been an English language instructor with the International English Language Institute for the past three years. After earning a Masters in English Literature and Teaching Writing, I sought teaching positions immediately. Since I was a little girl I have wanted to be a teacher, and realizing that dream has changed my life.

My biggest strength as a teacher is my enthusiasm: I truly enjoy what I do and count myself very privileged to be able to do what I love every day. I will enthusiastically celebrate with you every victory, and no victory is too small to celebrate!

However, I also bring extensive knowledge of English grammar, writing strategies, and research methods to the classroom, digital or otherwise. I have counseled many students on their writing, and it's probably my favorite part of teaching.

I have also worked with stud
ents on their conversational and reading skills, and helped students develop their strengths in these areas.
I would love to sit and have a conversation with you, or work on targeted grammar issues that you may have. I would be happy to go over writing together, or assist you in composing the text for a speech. I am a good listener, and will listen to you practice presentations or read aloud texts you are working on and give you feedback on both areas for improvement, and things you are doing well.

I am a process- and product-focused teacher. I believe that the processes of writing, speaking, reading and listening are just as important as the end results, but the end results are what we should celebrate and be proud of.

I look forward to working with you soon!

My name is Rachel Parra, I have personal experience teaching ESL, especially to Spanish speakers, but I am comfortable teaching ESL to people who speak other languages besides Spanish. I have experience teaching high school students and college students. I am half way to earning my bachelors degree. My end goal is to have a Linguistics degree with a minor in Secondary Education.

About Rachel
I have been teaching ESL to international students since high school. I have taught basic to Intermediate levels. I am stilling working on my degree, but have personal experience teaching ESL. I especially have experience teaching Spanish speakers. I have been multiple times to Colombia, South America, where my husband is from. I also have a part-time job and I am mother. I have studied at Tulsa Community College and Community College of Denver. I made the Dean's List at both Community Colleges. I am planning on transferring to either MSU Denver or CU Denver to complete my degree.

I have musical experience as well. I was pursing , at first, a Music Degree but have recently have decided to change my focus to Linguistics. I still dearly love music but found that I would rather purse Linguistics as a career and have music be my hobby. My p
rincipal instrument is voice. I taught voice privately to elementary and middle school girls. I worked on a film score for an Independent foreign film in Colombia called La Montana. I also tutored college students struggling with Music Theory level I-II. I play the flute and the piano as well.

In my spare time I like to take barre classes, hike, enjoy good food, travel, go to concerts and plays, and spend time with my husband, daughter, and puppy.
