Getting a solid foundation in technique is imperative for anyone wanting to learn the cello, no matter if the desire is to play for fun or to eventually join an orchestra. That is why I make it my goal as a teacher to establish the correct ways to have: good tone, proper posture, flexible bow hold, loose vibrato, and pain-free playing. All of my students that have graduated to university-level teachers have reported back that the teacher was happy with their foundation and they were not required to "move back" steps in order to gain additional technique.
I generally use the Suzuki and ABC books to get students started(which employ mainly classical pieces and folk songs), but I am always open to other genres that the student is interested in. If there is a specific piece a student would like to play, we'll go over what technique is required to get there and use alternate pieces and exercises to finally reach that goal.

About Jessica

I have 20 years of playing experience along with a Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance. I was the section leader of my university's orchestra as well as a full-scholarship member of the university quartet. As a professional gigging musician, I have played with Il Divo, Mario Winans, La Jolla Sy

Learn to move through vocal exercises with ease while crafting your voice, tone, and style. But most importantly, learn to take your voice and turn it into SONG. Singing songs is where most of my training has come from and I’m a firm believer that singing the tunes you love will teach your voice how best to interpret notes, follow intervals, explore dynamics, and gain control. Don’t just sing, PERFORM.

About Aubrey

"Don't just sing, PERFORM!" Aubrey moved to Los Angeles after earning her BA in Theatre Performance and Musical Theatre at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. I can speak four languages, so I understand what it is like to learn a new language which is what makes me an excellent English Second Language teacher. I also hold TESOL and TEFL certificates as well. Even though I grew up in a home where we spoke English, I did not go to an English-speaking school until I was 11. When I first started learning how to write English I absolutely hated it but because of my mom and English teachers that believed in me and helped me, by 10th grade I became one of the best English students. Therefore, I truly believe in the power of believing in others because eventually, they could excel in a subject they never thought they could which has a big impact on one's self-esteem.

"It really is more (Voice Acting) Script interpretation, and Diction; how to pronounce words in a script or paragraph, correctly. Fawn didn't waste any time, I was concerned about my Skype audio, no problem, and after a little wrangling, I figured out how to send her an audio file, and script I wanted her to look over.
She made notes, gave me suggestions, made comments on what I sent her, I'll do my home work; because I want to improve, and we'll do it again next week; same time time, same station... Sorry couldn't help that! She's the kind of coach I need right now!"

"I came to Jordan needing help with extreme deadlines. I was auditioning for a musical theater degree with a large number of colleges and while I had a good amount of experience singing and acting, I was practically new to dance. Online, she was able to help me prepare for audition pre-screens, learn dance basics rapidly, and feel less anxiety about dance auditions. As a result, I was able to receive many MT acceptances and get into my dream school. Thank you Jordan for being patient with me and helping me learn at my own pace while moving fast enough to meet my goals. You’re the best!"

"To be honest I've never acted a day in my life before. Tamika was absolutely wonderful in helping me calm my (obvuously) nervous self, and worked with what I naturally brought to the stage and highlighted my own attributes. By the time I had opening night, I felt more comfortable than presenting to a bunch of investors (which is my day job). Thank you again Tamika, for really helping me develop skills and traits for the acting stage even I didn't know I had in me! I loom forward to working with you again soon!"

7 Acting Warm Ups & Games for Actors | Take Lessons

Being in the entertainment industry is not much different from being in the sports world.
