What's special about film & screen acting, is that it's up to the ACTOR to realize the world he/she 's in, the relationships, and what ACTION he/she is taking toward moving the story forward. Theater is collaborative, performance-wise. It's warm and fuzzy. You may never get that luxury on a TV set.
'Acting for Screen' cultivates your craft, by personal coaching with audition tools.
The challenge in SCREEN ACTING is that you must create worlds amongst extreme odds, such as using camera contraptions, special fx, cameras in your face, dolleys swirling around you, and sometimes, quite literally while standing on one foot.
Listening. Objectives. Relaxation. Specificity. THE AUDITION to book the role. These are tools every actor must wield in this exciting but changing market.
'Acting for Screen' is taught by
award-winning director/actor, (Lionsgate, Project Greenlight, On The Lot, Sony Pictures, USC Theater School) with the goal of getting you paying roles, and growing your

I am a professional ballet dancer and I love to help students achieve "clean" un-stylized classical technique, whether they hope to gain admittance into top ballet schools, summer programs or audition for companies. I began training at age 3 and have experience with small and large schools. For my high school years, I trained with American Ballet Theatre's JKO School, where I received ABT certification to teach Levels Pre-Ballet - 3, then did my post secondary training with Canada's National Ballet School in Toronto. Since graduating, I have danced with Les Grands Ballet Canadiens in Montreal and Semperoper Ballett in Dresden, Germany. I would be more than happy to share tips and encourage any age student as they reach for their individual goals.
Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced I love sharing the beautiful classical art of ballet with young students! I like to keep class fun while gently helping students retain habits that encourage a language of clean classical technique through proper form, allowing them to work towar

I am a classically trained, working actor based in NYC! I'm living in Fort Worth while I'm performing in a theatre contract this summer. I have trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in classical and contemporary theater, have worked in Italy with Javier Galito-Cava in Meisner Technique, have studied Viewpoints in Berlin with Sandrine Hudl, and have studied with Austin Pendleton in NYC. I'm an Equity and British Equity actor, and I love what I do. I can help you prep for an upcoming audition in theatre or film, or work on acting skills and techniques you can use going forward!

I'll show you how to develop a character or read a scene with another scene partner and I'll make the training fun! I'll help you choose good monologues and show you how to "cold read" a dialogue at an audition. Based on my education at Columbia I have lots of techniques to offer! If you want to you can bring a scene partner, otherwise I'll read the scenes with you.

THANK YOU, VANESSA!
A year ago when I was shopping for a voice teacher, Take Lessons provided a wide selection of viable options. As a senior adult, I was feeling a need to clarify my "Call" in life, and to return to some of the personal strengths that I hope to continue using in the last 1/3 of my life. In my profile I indicted I was looking to maintain the voice that has been a part of every aspect of my life from theatre to singing, to preaching, to creating radio spots. When I mentioned that goal to Vanessa in our first meeting she countered: âWe wonât just maintain it, weâll restore it!â What a confidence booster that was!
Although my life work mostly involves speaking, I also have a love of singingâsomething I have participated in one way or another for the last 50 years. I wanted to overcome the âold ladyâ vibrato syndrome if possible and to be able to sing without concern that those within earshot would shudder.
In addition, I was looking for certain attributes in a teacher:
⢠A person who is at my stage of life or beyond.
⢠A person who is knowledgeable in both singing and speech.
⢠A person with a personal teaching style that is positive and encouraging.
ENTER VANESSA PACE!
Vanessa is confident and knowledgeable. In addition, she has customized my learning program to suit my current objectives, which have changed from one week to the next depending upon my professional assignments from work and my personal creative pursuits.
In this year Vanessa brought me to a point of âbreaking throughâ inhibitions and moving beyond what I thought Iâd be able to do. Her constant use of cues to put me on track with the use of my voice has been invaluable! She compared letting sound pass through the vocal cords (without strain) in the same way breath becomes music through a clarinet. Using words like âPull up your spineâyouâre two inches taller!â; and reminders to draw on the strength of (underused) larger muscles to support the efforts of diaphragm have been helpful in numerous practical matters of everyday life.
Vanessa is inspiring in that she is a life-long learner and passionate about things to the degree that she invests in them with intelligent research, attention to science, and a spiritual passion that drives her to draw out the best in her students in similar fashion.
If you are looking for a voice teacher, Vanessa will work with you where you are--and help you move toward the goal of where you are hoping to be.
I am thanking God this Thanksgiving Season for Vanessa Pace.
