Math is great because there's always one specific answer! My goal with students is to help them understand the path from a problem to its solution. Math is a tool to help develop reasoning and solution seeking skills.
The unique thing that sets me apart as a tutor in any subject is that I first work with the student, and I gently guide them to find the answer on their own.
I am a tutor who earned a music teaching degree, substitute taught, and didn't become a school teacher. I held professional tech retail jobs and am supplementing my life with my passion - education. Whatever subject or instrument I teach, I celebrate students' successes; and I enjoy helping lear

Creative Writing is a passionate subject for me. I studied Creative Writing at Dartmouth College, where I obtained my Master's, and published my thesis of a collection of fiction short stories.
Creative Writing doesn't have rules, although there are guidelines. I am an advocate of showing and not telling, creating characters, setting scenes, and using smooth, fluent language to engage readers as we experiment with words and style and complex emotions.
As a teacher, I try to cater each class to my student's individual needs and interests. Being bilingual myself, I am a strong believer that language and culture (and food!) are intertwined, and to learn any language, it is best to immerse oneself as deeply as possible. I started teaching ESL in

This is for someone who is struggling on reading. I want to slowly teach or tutor someone on how to read properly. I know some kids have a hard time learning to read, which is why I want to take it slow and easy. Slow so the child doesn't feel rushed and easy so the child has an easier time. I do not want the child to feel helpless, I would love to help.

I am a Christian Pastor and have over 20 years of Bible Study experience. You can expect to learn, understand and apply the things found in the Holy Bible to real-life situations. A lot of students read the Bible but have a hard time making a connection between the things that are written and how they are applied in real life. I can teach you both what those things mean and how they are used today.

Another thing worth mentioning is Colin's passionate approach to teaching. He would always go about each lesson with unmistakable enthusiasm, showing that even calculus could be fun, if you were willing to see it as so. He was also always willing to go all the way with any problem, even if it went over the time limit; he wanted to make sure that I had no questions or concerns about any topic, no matter how complex it might have been. So, all in all, if you are looking for a suitable calculus tutor, Colin is certainly a very worthy option!"

Writing fiction comes with a number of myths that keep many people from giving it a serious try. Don't them get you down! Here are a few things that you might hear about the industry as you're learning how to write fiction--and the reality behind them. 1. You Have to Be a Big Name to Write Many aspiring writers are told that unless you're Stephen King or you're famous for something else, there's no point in trying to get your work noticed. But the truth is, many publishers actively look for …
