Not sure where to place that comma? Having trouble finding your voice? Well, I'm here to help. I have a more than a decade of experience in writing, teaching and consulting. I have a Master of Fine Arts in Writing, and I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. I've worked as a journalist for three major news outlets, as well as a freelance writer and editor for clients in a variety of fields. I've taught courses in business writing, journalism, and English composition. I'm passionate about helping all ages and skill levels communicate more effectively and understand writing as a process, rather than a product.

Experienced state certified teacher of 5 years, specializing in English Literature, reading, writing, SAT/ACT Prep, Spanish, and English as a Second Language. All ages and levels are welcome (grades K-12). Whether your child is working on a specific assignment or just wants to practice their literacy and language skills, I will customize my lessons to meet your child's needs. Not only do I strive to create a supportive learning environment, but an enjoyable one as well!

I have taught writing for over five years and love to teach it because writing is my passion. I have written several award winning screenplays and work also work as a freelance writer. I have helped students write college essays which have helped them get into their first choice, graduate students with their research papers on psychology, nursing and business as well as young students writing some of their first creative essays... and everything in between.

Writing is a challenge, and without the right guidance, it can be difficult to overcome the built-in intimidation factor. It's my goal to break through those barriers. I have several years of experience in the field as both teacher and tutor. I currently teach English classes at a University and tutor students throughout the Bay Area. My specialties are working with students aged 16-20, but have comfort and experience with ages far outside that range as well. I'm a patient, understanding tutor, and I work well with confident writers and writers still trying to learn the English language -- as well as everyone in between. I know what it takes to write an essay for high school and college classes; I also know how to help you understand what instructors are looking for and how to improve you writing so you don't need regular tutoring going forward.
