My daughter and I started taking lessons with Nancy during the pandemic as an activity that we could enjoy together. We are both adults (60’s and 30’s) who were completely new to singing. We have really enjoyed our virtual lessons and are amazed by our progress over the past 6 months. Nancy is incredibly kind and helped us to develop our confidence with singing. We never believed we would have ever participated in a virtual recital before working with Nancy. We recommend Nancy highly for her teaching skills, positive attitude and dedication to helping us develop our voices.

Nancy is both a fantastic person and teacher! After being with a voice teacher that led me to harm my voice Nancy has helped me rehabilitate and find strength in my voice. She's always happy to work on anything I bring to her and has a vast array of knowledge. I've been able to increase my upper and lower range with consistency and know that it'll only get better from here. If you're considering, just go with her!

Once the student and Rachel are able to identify the technique, Rachel continues to use the terminology of that technique for the remainder of the time the student is in lessons. Students eventually are able to play roles truthfully and realistically, even if the roles are opposite of the student's own personality.

My 9 yr. old daughter received singing lessons with Rachel. Rachel was SO wonderful, patient, and creative with every session with her. She was constantly coming up with different ways to keep her engaged and was always reassuring her to increase her confidence. She gave great constructive feedback on how my daughter was doing and what she can work on to improve. I give her 5 stars! Thanks so much, Rachel!

Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.

"Mr. Tinker has been a true inspiration to me. He worked with me on coming out of my shell. He taught me how to give my character a back story beyond what the script describes. He taught me acting is not a hobby, it's a lifestyle. With this understanding and with the wealth of knowledge I learned during our session, I know I have a bright future in acting."

"Hunter has been an amazing teacher. I was completely new to the acting world, so not only did she have to teach me acting but she also had to teach me about the business. I started off learning a little bit of everything, from scene study to improv to voiceovers, and now I am focusing on commercials. She has been great at helping me set attainable goals, introducing me to acting resources, and coming up with creative ways to draw out the actress in me when I am struggling with a line. I also appreciate her honesty and how prepared she is for each lesson."

"Simply AMAZING! Keith offers a comforting and open environment in which a performer can grow. I came to Keith in need of help for my college auditions, and in that short period of time was able to grow as a performer and get a taste of the professional world of theatre. Not only did he aid me in my audition pieces, he also gave me advice and insight of what it's like to go to school for the performing arts. I cannot thank Keith enough. With his help, I was accepted into New York University Tisch School of the Arts and AMDA. Great coach with life long skills, with Keith you will only grow."

"It's an amazing feeling when you find someone who is a master at the craft and can teach it too!

Shauna's previous extensive theatre training and instruction is UNDENIABLE. Because of this, she brings much more to the table than the average acting coach.

She made me realize there's SO much more than just breaking down a scene and creating a character. She made me think about where the character is going physically as well as emotionally, and why. I continue to grow and improve with each lesson with her. I'm so lucky to have found Shauna, and strongly recommend her to all actors."

Acting Tips: What's in your Toolbox?

As with any profession, actors have tools. Just as a doctor needs a stethoscope or a fireman needs a hose, there are certain items an actor must keep in their toolbox. I usually start classes or lessons by asking my new students or clients what they think these tools might be. Sometimes, the answer is very literal ("Script!"), and other times abstract ("Passion!"). None of these is a wrong answer. Being an actor or artist is subjective and everyone's process is different and valid. But t …

How to Find Scholarships for the Best Acting Schools

Becoming an actor takes hard work, dedication, passion, and drive. For high school students thinking seriously about a career in acting, now is the time to prepare for the training you will need to help you succeed. After all, high school is a time when you have opportunities that may be harder to find or simply will not exist later on. Most of the actors you see on television, film, and even the stage have gone through years of education and training, and getting into one of the best acting s …

Careers in Acting: On Stage and Behind the Scenes

Directors, flymen, producers, actors, and even box office staff – there are so many options available to those who have a passion for the performing arts industry. All careers in acting for stage are linked by one thing: a shared love and appreciation for creating live theater. Because of the associated pressures, and long and surprisingly unsociable hours related to the industry, many people who maintain careers in acting do so because they love what they do. Sequins don’t sew themselves o …
